Sherman Burnett Jr., 15, Gets 60 Years

St. Louis County — When Sherman Burnett Jr. was 13, he got mad at a 6-year-old girl. He has stated that she threw a rock at him. Well, Sherman proceeded to abduct her, stomped, sodomized and attempted to rape the girl, then left her semi-conscious body near railroad tracks not far from her home.
She remained there all night unable to move any further after attempting to crawl home. When found, her eyes were swollen shut, half of an ear had been torn off, her liver had been lacerated, she had a skull fracture, and she was bruised from the top of her head to her thighs. She identified Sherman Burnett Jr as her attacker. Burnett pleaded guilty Aug. 10 in St. Louis County Circuit Court of child kidnapping, sodomy, first-degree assault and attempted rape.
On Sept 25th, the victim wrote to Circuit Judge Melvyn W. Weisman, the judge overseeing the case, and told him “I want for him to go away for 60 years. Because wen he gets out he won’t hurt any other person.” On the 15th of NovemberNovember reviews
