Teen Mom Charged With Choking Her Newborn To DeathLakeland, FL — Police have charged 14-year-old Cassidy Goodson with first-degree murder after she gave birth to a full-term baby boy and then proceeded to choke him to death.

Three days after deputies had been called to Lakeland Regional Medical Center on a report of Cassidy being treated for a miscarriage, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from the girl’s mother after she made a gruesome discovery in her daughter’s room.

Teresa Goodson had been collecting dirty laundry when she smelled something bad coming from Cassidy’s room. Upon investigating, she found a shoebox with a dead baby inside. Homicide detectives arrived at the home and interviewed Cassidy, who showed little emotion while explaining why she a dead baby in her room rotting in a shoebox.

The ninth- grader at Kathleen High School told them that she had been hiding her pregnancy for months, and on the morning of Sept. 19, she went into labor in the bathroom. After using a pair of scissors to try and pry the baby out, she finally gave birth to a 9.5-pound, 20.4-inch baby boy.…

Woman Charged After Newborn Twins Are Found Dead In Trunk Huxley, IA – Jackie Burkle, 22, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder Tuesday after police found two dead newborns in the trunk of her car.

According to authorities, the investigation began with an anonymous tip early Saturday morning.

“The defendant was seen at work on (Thursday) and appeared to be pregnant and then was seen at work on (Saturday) and appeared not be pregnant with a completely different physical appearance,” Police Chief Mark Pote said in a criminal complaint.

Police interviewed Burkle, who agreed to go to the hospital and take a blood test, which indicated that she’d recently been pregnant. When questioned, Burkle told police she had given birth to twin girls, then told police where they could find the bodies.

According to the criminal complaint, Burkle stated that “she intended to end their lives and was not at any time intending that they would live.”

Officials say an autopsy on both girls has been conducted, but the results won’t be available for more than a month.…

Mother Admits She Hid Pregnancy, Smothered Newborn Twins In Parents Bathroom HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – Looking for someone to hate this Friday? Then meet 25-year-old Lindsey Lowe. She has admitted to giving birth to twins in a toilet, then suffocating them just minutes after they were born.

According to the affidavit, Lowe gave birth to her first son sometime between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday night while sitting on a toilet in her parent’s home. Lowe’s parents were unaware that their daughter was even pregnant and Lowe was hell-bent on keeping it that way.

So when the baby fell in the toilet and started crying, she told detectives that she covered the infants mouth and nose with her hand until he stopped breathing. She said that took about two minutes and she never checked the sex of her child.

She then gave birth to her second son, who also fell in the toilet, and proceeded to suffocate him in the same manner she did her other son, telling detectives he died quicker than his older brother.

Lowe took their bodies and hid them in a laundry basket in her bedroom, covering them with a blanket.…

Teen Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Newborn DaughterKnotts Island, NC — Rebecca Blackmore, 16, is facing charges of first-degree murder after police say she stabbed her newborn daughter to death shortly after squishing her out.

As is the case in most of these types of stories, Blackmore showed up at the emergency room after delivering the child, but had no baby. When questioned, she reportedly told police the child was stillborn and they could find the body in her bedroom closet.

Well, she was honest about one thing…there was a dead baby in her closet, but the autopsy showed the baby girl was not stillborn, she was alive at birth and for a short time thereafter. She’d probably still be breathing were it not for all those pesky stab wounds…

Though it was a relative that escorted Blackmore to the emergency room, it is unclear whether the family knew of Blackmore’s pregnancy.

Blackmore is currently behind bars on a $500,000 bond. In North Carolina, suspects 16 and older are charged as adults regardless of the crime.

And just in case you were wondering, North Carolina does have a Safe Haven Law.…

Mother Charged With Burning Her Disabled Infant AliveReno, NV – A mother in Nevada has been charged with doing the unthinkable. Police say she placed her terminally ill baby in a trash bag alive, doused the bag with gasoline and then set it on fire.

Life had already handed Brandy the shit-end of the stick when she was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome two months ago. It can be a terminal disability and some of those unfortunate enough to be born with it rarely lead long lives, and about 35 percent of them don’t make it past the two year mark.

But no matter the life span, those afflicted with it live lives with a myriad of different of health issues to go along with their physical abnormalities that can include severe mental retardation, seizures and congenital heart defects. The best someone can do for children born with this genetic defect is to make what time they have here as painless and as comfortable as possible.

Brandy’s mother, 26-year-old Suceli Ardon, decided she would do this by placing her in a field and then turning her into a trash bag flambé.…

Police Searching For Woman Who Left Newborn In BI LO Center ToiletGREENVILLE, S.C. – Police would really like to talk to the person who left their newborn baby boy in a toilet in the BI-Lo Center restroom.

The infant was found in the women’s restroom by a member of the cleaning crew Friday evening and immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition, suffering from hypothermia. The baby’s condition at this time is not known, which is probably a good thing as police say they won’t be releasing his condition unless it gets worse.

Police have evidence that the infant was born in the restroom sometime after a circus performance at the center, sometime between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. They also have surveillance footage, but going through the thousands of people who were in attendance is gonna be a tedious task.

So if any of you know of a woman who is no longer pregnant after coming back from the circus Friday night, yet has no baby, police ask you call call Greenville County Crimestoppers at 23-CRIME.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A woman first reported missing with the 7-month-old she was baby-sitting has been charged after the boy’s body was found in a cooler.

On Sunday a woman reported her missing infant to police. She told them that she dropped off her 7-month-old son, Ja-veon Brushan, with 40-year-old Carolyn Miller on Thursday and now could not locate her or her son. She told police it was not out of the ordinary for Miller to watch her baby for days at a time but she is usually able to contact her.

Police found Miller on Monday morning, but she denied having any knowledge of the whereabouts of Ja-veon. After further questioning, Miller admitted she wasn’t being quite honest about that and took police to her boyfriend’s house where in the backyard, was a cooler containing the corpse of Ja-veon.

Miller told police that several days ago she woke up to find the baby dead and did what any rational person does in that situation and packed the baby’s dead body up like a six-pack of beer and pretended it never happened.…

Dad Gets 15 To Life For Killing Infant Son

January 25, 2011 at 1:57 am by

Troy, Ohio — Jason Durig was sentenced yesterday morning to 15 years to life in prison after being convicted of killing his infant son back in July.

The death of 8-month-old Caleb was caused by blunt force trauma to the head according to the coroner. Both of Caleb’s parents, Jason Durig and Tara Durig, were arrested on July 26th after police found their infant son dead inside their apartment. Tara Durig had called them to the scene at about 11:45 am that morning. Jason Durig caused the death by beating, biting, and strangling the baby.

In December, Durig changed his plea to guilty just before he was scheduled to go on trial for murder and child endangering. Both parents were being held on $1 million bond each. Tara is charged with permitting child abuse and child endangering and is expected to be sentenced next week.

Jason Durig has been in trouble with the law before. In 2007 he was convicted and sent to prison on charges of child abuse and endangering after causing second-degree burns to another one of his children while he was giving him a bath in a kitchen sink.…

Philadelphia, PA – A doctor has been charged with eight counts of murder in the deaths of a patient and seven babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors.

This story truly seems like a really bad script for a horror flick. Over the last 30 years, 69-year-old Dr. Kermit Gosnell has made millions of dollars performing a procedure that most doctors will not do — late-term abortions. Prosecutors say that the doctor would prey on minorities, immigrants and poor women, lying to them in regards to how far they were in their pregnancies.

Gosnell charged $325 for first-trimester abortions and $1,600 to $3,000 for abortions up to 30 weeks. Abortions are legal up to 24 weeks gestation in Pennsylvania, although most doctors won’t perform them after 20 weeks, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors say that most of the women were lied to in regards to how far they were along in their pregnancies and that once labor was induced, the women would give live birth to viable babies in the sixth, seventh, eighth month of pregnancy.…

Lawrence, MA – Alexis Medina, 23, is being held without bail after his arraignment on murder charges in Lawrence District Court in Boston. Medina, who was previously convicted of child abuse for breaking an older daughter’s skull back in September 2008, openly admitted to shaking and “rough-housing” his 4 month old namesake, Alexis Medina, Jr. Alexis Jr. died last Wednesday after being brain dead for hours at Tufts Medical Center. What caused little Alexis Jr. to be brain dead? His shit-stain of a father woke to his crying after Mom, Jocelyn DeJesus, had already left for work. Medina wasn’t having that. While Jr. was lying face down, “Dad” allegedly pushed down on his back to quiet him so he could get some more sleep. About 2 to 3 hours later Medina’s mom, the infants grandmother, came over to babysit 4 month old Jr. and his 20 month old sister Nayeli, and found the infant unresponsive. 911 was alerted and paramedics resuscitated the infant but he was already brain dead. Prosecutor Kate MacDougall stated that although Medina admitted to shaking the baby, the cause of death appears to be suffocation.…

Babies Don’t Bounce

November 18, 2010 at 1:00 am by

Columbus, OH – Following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend late Tuesday evening, police say 20-year-old Quindell Sherman grabbed his 3-month-old son and repeatedly threw the child to the pavement. “When I looked around I saw him grab the baby, probably for the second time, and toss the baby on the pavers over there on the road,” said neighbor Barbara Webb. “Head first and then dangle the baby with one arm in the air.” After slam-dunkin’ the kid several times, Sherman picked him up and ran off down the street. Both he and the severely injured infant were found in a nearby dumpster. Responding officers attempted to resuscitate the child, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. Quindell Sherman has been booked on murder charges. According the Sherman’s girlfriend, this isn’t the act of violence in their relationship. She told police that back in January, while she was still pregnant, Sherman pushed her down, struck her and spit on her. No charges were filed because she was uninjured and had admitted to striking Sherman as well.…

Jacksonville, FL -- The mother who shook her baby like a maraca because it interrupted her game of Farmville has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Back in January, 22-year-old Alexandra V. Tobias, was arrested for the death of her 3-month-old son, Dylan Lee Edmondson. She admitted that she had gotten angry because Dylan was crying while she was trying to play Farmville, that lame-ass game on Facebook played by losers everywhere. She said she shook the baby, smoked a cigarette to compose herself, then shook the baby again — adding that Dylan may have hit his head at some point during the assault. A second-degree murder charge could carry a life sentence, but Tobias’ sentence could be anywhere from 25 to 50 years according to the prosecutor. Her pleading guilty also keeps the family from having to hear the graphic details of how a baby who dies from being shaken usually have their brains rotated inside their skulls. If she’d been a bit smarter, she’d could have just slathered the kid with bacon grease and left him alone with the family dog.…

Springfield, MO - Police and paramedics were called to Tatianna Light’s home Tuesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call in which she reported her 2-month-old son, Kaiden, was not breathing. Tatianna told officers she had placed the baby on his back on her bed and went to do laundry. When she returned about ten minutes later, Kaiden had rolled onto his stomach and had blood in his nose, so she called 911. EMT’s were unable to resuscitate the baby and he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Tatianna was questioned again. This time, her story was a little different. She told officers she undressed the child, cleaned him, and tried to perform CPR for about 30-45 minutes. And after calling a family member for advice, she finally got around to calling 911. Those slight discrepancies led to further questioning down at the station, where Tatianna eventually admitted to smothering the infant with pillows. She told police she held the pillows over Kaiden’s face for about an hour. Within that time span, she lifted the pillow and discovered Kaiden was still breathing, so she continued to hold the pillows over his face until he stopped.…

Mom Ties Pacifier To Baby’s Face, Baby Dies

September 16, 2010 at 9:36 am by

Tulsa, OK – According to police, 23-year-old Janette Mickelboro was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the death of her 3-month-old son, Hunter Thompson Warner, on August 20. Authorities say that when Janette got up to check on the child early that morning, she reportedly tied a receiving blanket around his face to hold his pacifier in place, before placing him in a bouncy chair. Several hours later, as she readied herself for work, she checked on the boy and found him to be “stiff and cold.” Did she attempt CPR? No. Did she call 911? Nope. She untied and removed the blanket from the child’s face, took him out of his bouncy chair and placed him in his bassinet so his daddy could wake up a few hours later and find him dead. Nice. She then left for work. And it’s not the first time she tied the baby’s pacifier to his face. “Some family friends had observed this practice and cautioned her that it was dangerous practice,” says Tulsa Police Child Crisis Corporal Greg Smith. ”It appears she repeated that practice even after being informed that it could be dangerous and shouldn’t be done.” Hunter’s father claims he had no idea Janette had done that in the past, and once the allegations against her were made, he took their 2-year-old child and moved in with relatives.…

Shaquan Duley, 29, called police after walking nearly a mile and told them that she had been in a car accident and that her car had went into the river. Police were able to find the submerged sedan at the end of a boat ramp, her two dead children inside. Duley, who officers observed showed no signs of being wet, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Police add that there was no signs of any type of accident on the road and that the car was found still in neutral. The incident has “stench of foul play,” Orangeburg County sheriff says. He also told CBS’ “Early Show” on Tuesday that investigators are ready to present their case to a judge in hopes of getting murder charges.…

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - While Kari Richardson was out shopping her husband, Randel Eudean Richardson, 36, took their 6-month-old son and held him underwater in a laundry tub he had filled with cold water. After his son quit struggling, he left him there and waited for his wife to return home. When she found their son unresponsive, she called 911. While paramedics performed CPR on Rowan, Kari was screaming that Randel had killed her baby as he sat on the couch informing police officers that he ”did this on purpose.” Randel was arrested at the scene and is now looking at murder charges. Kari says that mental illness is too blame. She told reporters that her husband had been suffering from a debilitating mental illness the last few months and was on a waiting list to see a psychologist. I know hindsight is 20\20 and I don’t know any of the people involved with this tragic case, but if I knew my wife had a “debilitating mental illness” I’m not sure I would leave her alone with an infant.…

Houston, Texas – While everyone is gong on and on about Sarah White, the 19-year-old who hid a pregnancy and tried to suffocate the baby after giving birth, no one seems to be talking about the 14-year-old who did the same. The difference being this chick gave gave birth inside a Houston apartment with the help of another 14-year-old and two 11-year-olds who used the Internet to learn how to deliver a baby. Too bad they also let the baby suffocate to death after leaving it on a bed with the amniotic sac placed over its face. The kids wrapped the dead baby up and went to an adult neighbor for help. That help involved dumping the baby in the dumpster along with a mattress and some soiled linens. This all happened back in April and probably would have gone completely unknown to anyone aside from those who were there had it not been for one of the 11-year-olds. A week after the incident, they ended up telling their school guidance counselor what had happened. The 14-year-old has now been charged with felony injury to a child and the adult who helped clean up may be looking at some charges of their own.…

Syracuse, NY – After two females called 911 to report a man threatening to kill his infant son, a state trooper was dispatched to the location. As soon as they got out of their patrol car, 21-year-old Adam Theall shot his 3-month-old son, Eithen Theall. Backup arrived and tried to get Adam to drop his gun, but he aimed it at them instead. This is usually a pretty good idea if you are looking to get shot, which Adam did — about 14 to 16 times. It was too late for Eithen, he would be pronounced dead at the hospital. But God, in a joking mood, has seen to it that Adam survive his injuries and as soon as he quits mimicking a block of swiss cheese, second degree murder charges are expected. Adam has quite an interesting history with law enforcement. In 2005 he violated a family court order and was charged with disorderly conduct. In 2008 he was charged with drunk driving and vehicular assault. In 2009 he was also charged with misdemeanor assault, endangering the welfare of a child and another assault.…
