GREENTOWN, Indiana – On Friday morning three kids. all under the age of six, woke up to find their mother beaten unconscious. Their father was out of town on business, so they ran to a neighbor who then called 911. Jamie Harney, 26, was rushed to Howard Regional Hospital and taken by Life Line Helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She underwent surgery and was in critical condition, her husband now by her side. She is currently in a coma and unable to inform police what happened to her or ultimately, who did it. The small town of 3000 is not host to violent crimes, so the community is shocked by the brutal assault. “This is the type of community where violent crime is a rare occurrence,” said Sheriff Talbert. “I would describe this as the type of community where people would probably go to sleep with their doors unlocked. But one things for certain, they won’t tonight.” The children are with relatives. Police are asking for information into Harney’s activities on the days before the assault, or anyone she may have come into contact with. Indianapolis, IN – For years, Monte Ayres, 46, has had an on-again-off-again, and sometimes volatile relationship with his 80-year-old girlfriend, Kathleen Vargas. The relationship began to blossom when Kathleen hired him to cut her grass. Unfortunately, over the past few years, the police had been called to the residence on reports of domestic violence. On more than one occasion, Kathleen had Monte forcibly removed from her home – only to take him back time and time again. The dangerous relationship came to an end on July 18th when Monte sexually assaulted Kathleen. He didn’t just rape her, he violently raped her with some type of object, severely damaging her spleen in the process. (I don’t know about you, but that makes my innards hurt just thinking about it). After the attack on the 18th, Kathleen managed to escape the home she shared with the asshole and seek help from a neighbor. Over the course of the month, Kathleen was unable to recover from the ruptured spleen and her condition slowly degraded- she died Wednesday night. Initially charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, rape, criminal deviate conduct, and resisting law enforcement, he is now looking at a murder charge pending the autopsy results. Indianapolis, Indiana – Many years ago, infant massage was quite the rave. If you’ve never heard of these classes, well I don’t know where you’ve been! Lillianna Goodmann died on FridayFriday reviews, two days after she was beaten for more than an hour. Not only was she disrespectful to Chism, she wouldn’t eat her dinner. For that, she received the ultimate punishment, death.

Indianapolis, IN–On Christmas Eve, 11-year-old Heather Wessel was standing near a propane heater being used to heat the home…she got too close and the bottoms of her silk pajamas caught on fire. She suffered second- and third-degree burns to her legs and backside. Her parents neglected to seek immediate medical attention. For two weeks, Heather suffered in excruciating pain, and they did nothing about it.

Indianapolis, IN - On Friday evening, just before 6:00, a man and his son were fishing on the White River just off 10th Street in Indianapolis.  They saw what they thought was a mannequin, clad only in underwear, floating just offshore.  On closer inspection, though, the mannequin turned out to be the body of a young woman – and she’d been in the water for awhile.  Today, that body was identified as Brittany Tate, 21.  She’d been murdered and dumped in the river.
