Gary, Indiana – Some of you may remember the extremely depressing story of Christian Choate. He was the 13-year-old boy whose body was found underneath a concrete slab in a trailer park a couple months back. That’s where some of his family had buried him after they murdered him two years earlier.

What made the story even worse than the fact that a 13-year-old boy could be murdered and no one even miss him was the revelation of the years of abuse this boy suffered at the hands of his father, stepmother and his siblings leading up to his death. Aside from the physical abuse the boy was forced to live in a cage like a dog every day for the last year of his life.

Impqueen stated in her article that the boy’s death was probably a sweet release and now it seems as if she was right. The Northwest Indiana Times is reporting that letters have been found, written by Christian, in which he talks about wanting to be liked by his family and how he wanted to die.…

Charges Dropped Against Man Lured By Wife’s Fake Facebook Profile; He Knew All Along

South Bend, IN – Angela Voelkert created a fake profile of a 17-year-old teen named Jessica Studebaker to dig for dirt on her husband ahead of their divorce.  It worked.  He ended up getting arrested by the FBI.

According to court documents, after creating the fake Facebook profile, ‘Jessica’ (pictured) friended her estranged husband.  She then reportedly had a friend draw her husband, David, into a message exchange.  Soon, David Voelkert was e-mailing his new friend and revealing details of plans to disappear with his children.

Then it got worse…

He allegedly asked ‘Jessica’ to find a “gang-banger” at her school who would be willing to kill his wife for $10,000.  Voelkert also reportedly claimed to have secretly placed a GPS tracking device in his wife’s van to be used to locate her when he was ready to have her killed.

“There should be some gang-bangers [at your school] that would put a cap in her ass for $10,000. I am done with her crap.” Voelkert messaged to ‘Jessica.’

“I have a GPS on her van, so I know where she is all the time,” Voelkert allegedly wrote.…

Family Blames Man’s Suicide On Bath Salt Abuse

Bremen, Ind. – The family of a 36-year-old man who committed suiced last week says bath salts are to blame.

Denny Kurzhal was an out-of-work carpenter whose family says he started using bath salts because he said it was helping him stay productive and lose weight. But two months and 50 pounds less later, Kurzhal was looking like he just walked out of Auschwitz. He was also suffering from phsychotic episodes that included hallucinations.

He told his sister he was being followed by the FBI who were consistently spying on him. When his sister explained that this just wasn’t true, he told her that she needed to open her eyes and she’d see things that normal people don’t see. His family tried to get him to seek help, but he refused and just got worse, completely oblivious that the drug was killing him.

One day after he informed someone he was trying to find a tree to hang himself from, he pulled down his garage door, cranked up his motorcycle and then laid on the floor.…

High School Senior Charged With Felony After Blow-Up Doll Prank Backfires

Rushville, Ind. – A senior at an Indiana high school decided to pull a seemingly harmless prank at his school even thought the students had been warned against doing so, and his decision landed him in jail, caused him to miss his graduation and now facing some possible time in prison.

It was with justifiable concern that school officials watched on survelliance video as an ominous, hooded and gloved individual entered the girl’s bathroom at Rushville High with an unspecified package, reemerging minutes later empty-handed.  Believing it contained explosives, the school was evacuated and the bomb squad was called in. Soon after, both the offender and the contents of the package were recovered.

The offender?  18-year-old Rushville High senior Tyell Morton.  The contents of the package?  A freakin’ blow-up doll.  Tyell developed the brilliant plan to plant the doll in the women’s restroom at school as a senior prank.  The young man with no prior record now claims authorities are “blowing it out of proportion” (his words, not mine, but I would’ve used ‘em anyway), and I must say, I rather agree.…

High School Teacher Accused Of Stalking Student

Beech Grove, IN – Sara Kifer, an Indiana teacher who is currently suspended, will go to court related to a No Contact Order based on allegations of her stalking a student last year at Beech Grove High School.

A investigation into Kifer’s behavior towards an unnamed student was begun by by the Department of Education after a student claimed that she fell in love with him during his senior year. The student reportedly said that he ignored her advances at first, but eventually felt it necessary to turn letters Kifer had allegedly written to him over to his school counselor.

The school responded by suspending Kifer immediately and a No Contact Order was issued by a county judge.  According to the victim, neither of these actions – or his graduation – were a deterrent.  When he started college that fall, Kifer reportedly began trying to reach him through his circle of friends.

“First it was another student at my college and through that she made contact with people I know and began contacting them in other manners,” the stalking victim said.…

Father, Stepmother Charged With Murdering Boy Forced To Live In Dog Cage

Gary, Indiana – Thirteen-year-old Christian Choate was murdered in April of 2009, but it wasn’t until this week that anyone outside his immediate family knew about it.  Now, Christian’s body has been discovered, and his father and stepmother have been charged with murder in connection with his death.

In 2005, Riley Choate got custody of his kids. I don’t know how or why, but apparently he stopped allowing visits with the childrens’ mother, Aimee Estrada.  He then moved in with Kimberly Kubina.  Almost immediately, Christian was accused of molesting a male relative – probably because Kubina and Choate are liars as well as sadists.  Christian was tied to a bed and slapped, and soon became the targeted child, the “bad kid” who was abused while the other children were treated fairly well.  I mean, if treating the other kids well means making them beat their brother and record it on video.

Over the next several years, Christian was bound to a bed frame, gagged, starved, locked in a dog cage, beaten with metal pipes, and who knows what else.  Eventually the abuse escalated until Christian was called “the dog” and left in a dog crate full time.  The crate was kept in the front bedroom of the family trailer – they’d just gag the kid with a sock and some duct tape and throw a blanket over it if Grandma came over.   Christian’s older sister Christina, now 17, was put in charge of Christian’s “care” and taught to beat him if he disobeyed.  By 2009, Christian’s wardrobe was a diaper and a gag and he could barely stand.…

Two Bodies Found In Manure Pile At Indiana Farm

Gary, Indiana – If you are responsible for leaving two bodies in a 15-foot high pile of horse manure at an Indiana horse farm, police would like to talk with you.

A man was boarding his horse at the farm Sunday morning when he notice what he thought was an arm sticking out of the manure pile that has collected on the farm for a couple years. When police arrived and began removing the body from the pile, they found a second one. Both bodies, one of them being reported as a white male, were wrapped in plastic.

The second body has not been identified as at the time of the reports, it had not been removed from the plastic. They were waiting for today so that the coroner could perform an autopsy as soon as the plastic was removed. They also found some bones in the pile, but they turned out to belong to horses.

Police are asking that anyone missing anyone, or with any information as to how these bodies got to where they were found, to contact Gary police Detective Mike Barnes at (219) 881-7434.…

Couple Charged After Trying To Sell Baby To Convicted Child Molester

Indianapolis, Indiana – Four Indianapolis residents have been arrested, accused of trying to sell a baby.

Police say 36-year-old Rose Faucett and 58-year-old Phillip Hester agreed to sell Faucett’s daughter, born April 2, to 57-year-old Michael S. Overby and 50-year-old Debbie Overby. In return for selling the baby to the completely normal looking couple, they would get a whopping $300 and a place for Faucett to stay.

All four have been charged with neglect of a dependent and child selling. Michael Overby was also charged with forgery for falsely signing a paternity affidavit, claiming to be the biological father of the infant.

The real kicker here is quite disturbing; Michael S. Overby is a convicted child molester and Debbie Overby has been convicted of child neglect in the past.

“Mrs. Overby is currently on probation for neglect of a dependent, and Mr. Overby is a convicted child molester. It’s a charge from back in 1984,” said Indianapolis police Sgt. Linda Jackson. “We don’t know what the intentions were for trying to adopting this child.…

Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Setting His Girlfriend On Fire

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Police have arrested a man and charged him with attempted murder after they say he doused his girlfriend with charcoal lighter fluid and then set her on fire.

Firefighters were dispatched to a home on Saturday morning after a man call 911 reporting his neighbor had been burned. When emergency responders arrived at the location, they found 47-year-old Rebecca Mumaw severely burned and standing outside the home she shared with her boyfriend, 31-year-old Quinn Nelson.

She was suffering from burns to over 40 percent of her upper torso and head but was conscious and able to tell them Nelson was the person responsible for her injuries. When he was arrested a couple blocks away, he denied any involvement and swore he hadn’t even seen Mumaw that day even though he was found with a can of lighter fluid in his pocket and the cell phone used to place the initial 911 call.

Investigators found a half-empty bottle of lighter fluid in the home, along with clumps of burnt hair on the floor, in the tub and in the bed.…

Moped Driver Offers Female Officer $5 And/Or Nookie To Forget Ticket

Indianapolis, IN — Adam Yarbrough was arrested on charges of bribery and disorderly conduct after he reportedly tried to bribe a female officer with money and sex in order to get out of a traffic ticket.

Officer Christin Rudell spotted Yarbrough swerving through traffic at speeds of up to 40 miles-per-hour on his moped Sunday evening and pulled him over. Rudell determined that Yarbrough’s license had been suspended and wrote him a citation for operating a moped on an interstate, going more than 25 miles-per-hour on a moped and driving under suspension.

Police say Yarbrough first tried to escape punishment by offering the officer $5.00 to just forget about the whole thing. When the monetary offer failed, he ramped up his game a bit.

“How about I give you a kiss, and well, I haven’t had sex in a while, so how about we do that, and then we can just forget the ticket and you just let me go?” Yarbrough was quoted in a police report as saying. Apparently unimpressed, Officer Rudell placed Yarbrough under arrest for bribery.…

Police: HIV Positive Man Molested 8-Year-Old Boy

Indianapolis — Here’s a story that those idiots who equate homosexuality with pedophilia will have a field day with. Police have arrested a 33-year-old man with HIV, accusing him of molesting the 8-year-old son of the man he was dating.

After the boy’s personality began changing and he started acting out, his mother began questioning him. The boy finally revealed that the man his father was dating, Carl Delong, had been sexually assaulting him in his home.

His father had recently moved in with Delong and the boy would often spend weekends at the home. During that time court documents say that Delong was sexually abusing the boy. Starting with showers and inappropriate touching, the abuse eventually led to sexual intercourse on at least five separate occasions.

When asked why he did not tell anyone about what was happening to him until now, court documents state: “Carl told him daddy would go to jail, and he could get an infection there, and pointed to his [buttocks], and die.”

Police: 14-Year-Old Boy Stole Church Van To Drive To School

GARY, IN – When Officer Simon Lillie pulled onto the property of the West Side Leadership Academy, he thought nothing about the van in front of him. Later, Lillie said, “I just thought someone short was driving the van.” The van circled the lot a couple of times and parked; it was a school employee who pointed out to the officer that the driver was a 14-year-old student of the school. Police say the boy stole the van — a church van, no less — because he didn’t want to walk the several blocks to school. And how did he get access to the van? According what the teen’s mother told authorities, he must’ve taken the van’s keys while attending choir practice at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church earlier in the week.

The combination of these factors — church choir member, indications of sloth, theft of a church vehicle — causes a small bubble of wicked joy to form in my heart. But at the same time, I have to hand it to this kid.…

Police: Man Attacks Mother-In-Law After She Complains About His Stinky Burp

Solsberry, IN — Joseph Cunningham, 33, was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly assaulting his mother-in-law because she complained about his malodorous burp.

According to police, Cunningham was a passenger in a vehicle driven by his 55-year-old mother-in-law last Tuesday when he “spat out a sour belch” that reportedly had a foul odor.

When mom-in-law complained, Cunningham got all kinds of offended and claimed he couldn’t help it. An argument ensued…

Cunningham eventually demanded to be let out of the car, and when mom-in-law didn’t pull the damn thing over quick enough, she said her son-in-law reached forward from the back seat and wrapped his hands around her neck. She told police she couldn’t breathe.

Once she managed to free herself and pull over, she said Cunningham exited the vehicle, opened up the driver’s door, grabbed her and punched her in the face and chest. She said he uttered the words, “I’ll kill you, f—— bitch,” before running off.

Cunningham turned himself in Tuesday evening and was booked on charges of battery, intimidation and strangulation.…

Two High School Students Charged With Raping Classmate At Party

CHARLESTOWN, IN – In another one of those stories that makes me thank Apophis I do not have a teen daughter to worry about, two Charlestown High School football players have been charged as adults for allegedly raping a female classmate at a party.

Police have charged 17-year-old Billy Huttsell and 16-year-old Matthew Whisman with two counts of rape after prosecutors say they both raped  the 15-year-old girl after she passed out at the party.

The girl said Huttsell spoke to her several times about having sex, but she told him no several times. While at the party, she got fuggered up on vodka and spice and went upstairs to pass out. The two boys followed her.

While one boy raped the girl, the other encouraged it before switching places. At one point the girl realized what was happening and tried to scream, but she says one of the boys placed a hand over her mouth and kept on going.

Friends and classmates who know all the parties involved do not believe that Whisman or Huttsell are capable of what they have been accused of. Because of this, the victim has been harassed at school.…

Officer Catches Man Trying To Rape 11-Year-Old

Fort Wayne,  Indiana – A state conservative officer reportedly witnessed an 18-year-old man attempting to rape an 11-year-old girl on Monday. Luckily for the girl, the officer was there and was able to break up the alleged attack.

Conservative Officer Patrick Heidenreich was on patrol when he decided to investigate a car parked near the Tri State Motorcycle Club. According to the news release, Heidenreich saw a man attempting to rape a girl inside the parked vehicle. The man, identified as Jacob DeLong, was taken into custody and transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department. After being interviewed, DeLong was charged with Class B felony attempted rape.

Police say DeLong knew the victim. He had not abducted her, but authorities declined to specify how the girl ended up in the vehicle. The news release stated that DeLong may have victimized others, but Friedel declined to elaborate on what that meant, instead saying anyone who may have been a victim should contact him at the Sheriff’s Department.

The girl was taken into protective custody by the Department of Family and Children Services.…

Chester Mills’ Children Die On Way To His Wife’s Funeral

Waveland, IN — Chester Mills lost his wife, 43-year-old Amber, and his two children within four days of each other. Amber Mills passed away at home last Monday after a long battle with lung cancer.

On Thursday, as Mills was preparing for Amber’s funeral, his two children, Amanda Mills, 25, and Logan Mills, 21, were driving to the services in Indiana from Florida with their friend Anthony Suggs. They had completed most of their drive when just a few miles from the funeral home, Suggs lost control of the car on the snow-covered road. The car spun out into the northbound lane of traffic, where it was broad-sided by an oncoming tractor-trailer. The car then tumbled into a ravine, where the truck landed on top of it.

Amanda and Logan Mills and Anthony Suggs were pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured. It took crews hours to clean up the wreckage. The news about the accident quickly traveled to the funeral home where Amber’s funeral was scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.…

Mother Found Dead With Her Three Children Posted Message To Husband On Internet Message Board

Austin, Indiana -- I am having severe Internet connection issues this morning, so I apologize for the lack of news this morning. But I did want to post about Amanda Bennett. Over the weekend some of you may have heard about her. She was the mother found dead, along with her three children, inside an Indiana home from a possible murder suicide.

The family of 30-year-old Amanda Bennett asked police to perform a welfare check after not hearing from her or her three kids, ages 4 to 14. When police made entry into the home, they found Bennet and her children with gunshot wounds to the head. Autopsy reports would conclude they died from a combination of the gunshots and smoke inhalation. It was determined that Bennett had shot her three children, set fire to the home, then shot herself.

But what some of you may not be aware of was the drama going on in the days before she killed herself and her children. A lot of what she was going through could be read in the comments section of post made in a Topix Crothersville Forum.…

Mother Loses Custody Of Her Children For Second Time In A Month

Indianapolis, IN – An Indianapolis mother has lost custody of her five children for the second time in one month.

The first time was at the end of December after police, investigating a domestic disturbance call, found 27-year-old Alicia Clark’s five children, ages 8 to 2, complaining of hunger and living in an apartment with no food, stove or refrigerator.

Her children were taken from her and she was given a specific set of instructions she could follow to get them back She must have followed them because the kids were at her home this past Saturday when police received a tip that her five kids had been left at home alone.

When police arrived, they found Clark’s five children alone inside the home and left with specific instructions not to answer the door — especially for cops. Clark called the home while police were there, but told them she would love to come home to be arrested, but that she could not leave her job at Walmart. Undaunted, police went to Walmart and found that she was not there.…

Man Accused Of Necrophilia Claims He Didn’t Know The Chick Was Dead

Washington, IN -- Richard Sanden was taken into custody over the weekend and charged with multiple offenses that include sex with a corpse, mutilation of a corpse, and sexual deviant conduct because he apparently had no idea he had been bangin’ a dead chick…for hours…giggity. Police were called to 48-year-old Rebecca Whitehead’s apartment Saturday night after Sanden called 911 to report the two of them were having sex when it dawned on him that she was no longer breathing. He said he attempted to revive her, but to no avail. When police arrived on scene, they found a nekkid dead woman, as well as evidence of alcohol and marijuana use. When questioned, Sanden reportedly told investigators that he had been schtupping the woman for several hours, totally clueless to the fact that she had died. When he finally realized the woman really was a dead lay, he dismounted(?), attempted CPR and called for help. Initially arrested on abuse of a corpse, paraphernalia and drug possession charges, Sanden was ordered held on $4,500 bail.…
