INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A 31 year-old Indianapolis man is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years after freely admitting to police during a polygraph test that he was scopin’ some illegal porn.
The polygraph test, part of Eugene Marshall’s probation from previous perpetrations involving pedo-porn, took place on April 21. Marshall had spent a woefully inadequate 128 days in the can for his first convictions in 2011, and was subsequently place on probation for 915 days. If I ever decide to become a criminal, I’ll be moving to Indiana.
Marshall got an A+ on the test, passing without telling a single lie. Unfortunately for him, most of his answers were admissions of probation violations, including accessing the internet, viewing child pornography and being alone with children at a recent birthday party for a relative, though it was noted that no physical contact is believed to have occurred. Marshall also admitted to owning three small (or ‘fun size’) love dolls, which makes me just a little Knauseous.
Instead of a gold star, Marshall got a visit from police at his home, where he surrendered a Playstation console, a laptop and several storage devices.…Continue Reading
NEW ALBANY, IN — Police have arrested 18-year-old Cody Burns, accusing him of stabbing his father after he told his son to pull up his pants.
The incident happened last Tuesday after Burns’ father told the boy he was lookin’ like a fool with yo’ pants on the ground. Burns allegedly walked to the kitchen and retrieved a knife, then walked into the living room and stabbed his father in the left side of his chest.
The man was taken to the hospital where his wounds were not considered life-threatening. Another person was in the home and witnessed the assault and Cody Burns was charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon. He is currently behind bars on $75,000 bond.
Here’s a true story about my dad and how he expressed his dislike for a shirt I planned on wearing to a restaurant with the family. When I was 14, my family was going to meet other family members at a steak house. I decided that the perfect shirt for the occasion was a t-shirt that I had cut the collar and sleeves off of, and was decorated with a slew of cow bones.…Continue Reading
West Lafayette, IN – It’s been two years since we first reported on Jonathan Noe, the man charged with beating his girlfriend with a Shake Weight. On Monday, he was sentenced to four years behind bars.
On November 9, 2011, Noe’s girlfriend called police to report he had beaten the shit out of her with a Shake Weight. When police arrived at the her home, she reportedly told them Noe violated a protective order she filed in June of that year when he showed up at her place after a party and indicated how unhappy he was with her.
He then proceeded to show her how unhappy he was by knocking her around, kicking her, choking her and beating the crap out of her with a Shake Weight. Police say both of the woman’s eyes were swollen shut, her mouth was swollen enough to make speaking difficult, and four of her teeth were knocked loose and pushed back toward her throat.
Medical documents revealed the woman suffered from a subdural hematoma to the head, a fracture of the right orbital bone, a broken nose, multiple contusions, extensive facial injuries, a concussion, loss of consciousness and blowout fracture of facial bones.…Continue Reading
In a criminal complaint filed in the case, the FBI states Hillard met Bour through an online dating service and eventually sold the child to him knowing her daughter ”would be portrayed in a visual depiction assisting another person to engage in sexually explicit conduct.” The complaint does not reveal how much money Hillard made off the sale.
Unfortunately, the 18-month-old girl did end up being the star of some of Bour’s porn, and had been ever since she was around 6-months-old. She may have been involved in more had an unidentified woman not contacted the FBI.
The woman contacted the FBI to report that Bour had sent her explicit text message that read: ”U wanna watch me play with a baby tomorrow a real one” while another said: “I get a chance once in a while I was just seeing if you would hold the camera.” The woman said she’d been to Bour’s home before, and had seen child porn playing on his laptop.…Continue Reading
CLARKSVILLE, IN – Police say 49-year-old Richard Hooten, a fugitive sex offender, is suspected of the rape and murder of 17-year-old Tara Willenborg over the weekend.
Willenborg’s body was found by her boyfriend early Saturday morning inside the Clarksville apartment the couple shared. She had been raped and died from asphyxiation. According to prosecutor Steven Smith, Willenborg suffered a ‘horrible death’.
Willenborg’s father said his daughter had attended Jeffersonville High School where she was a member of the cross country team. She’d recently earned her G.E.D. and had just moved into the apartment with her boyfriend in January. She would have turned 18 next Sunday.
Police would arrest Hooten on unrelated charges after seeing him wandering around outside near the apartment.
“Officers found him walking. He sort of fit the description and at that time they asked for his identity and ran a background check and noticed he had outstanding warrants,” said Darrell Rayborn with the Clarksville Police Department.
The warrant was issued because Hooten had failed to register as a sex offender. Turns out he has quite the criminal history including rape, sexual battery and sodomy charges in both Indiana and Georgia dating back to 1993.…Continue Reading
New Castle, IN — Jeremiah Taylor, a man convicted of child molestation last year, was beaten to death inside an Indiana prison.
According to police, the 37-year-old was found unconscious at the bottom of a staircase at the state prison in New Castle late Thursday night. He was taken to Henry County Hospital then flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died Saturday morning.
Investigators believe the inmate’s injuries were “not the result of an accident, but were the result of Taylor having been battered shortly before being found in the stairwell,” an Indiana State Police release said.
Taylor was charged with molesting a preschooler in 2009, but was not apprehended until 2011. He pleaded guilty to charges of child molestation in June of last year, and was sentenced to 20-years in prison with 12 years suspended. Taylor had been at the prison since July of last year and was scheduled to be released in 2018.
Before anyone assumes he was murdered because of his admitted crimes, Mike Smith, public information officer at the New Castle Correctional Facility, said a large segment of the New Castle prison population consists of sex offenders.…Continue Reading
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – New to the ever growing list of seriously depraved human beings is 30 year old Micah Harrison. He is currently sitting in jail on a murder charge for allegedly stabbing his 2-year-old son multiple times.
Micah was living in Alabama and had reportedly taken his three children, a 4 and 5-year-old girl and 2-year-old Michael, to Indiana for the day to visit relatives.
No specific motive has been listed in the killing but neighbors reported to police that the little boy had been outside playing with some other children and had fallen in the snow. The outraged neighbors reported Micah then spanked the boy while yelling at him and taking him in the house. Police were called to the Autumn Breeze Apartment just before 5 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a child stabbed.
Michael was found lying between a dresser and a television stand with stab wounds to the center and top of his chest and one to his forehead. Police also found a nail-pulling tool on top of a dresser in the living room and according to police reports, the shape of the tool is consistent with the wound on the child’s forehead.…Continue Reading
Warsaw, Ind. – An appeals court threw out Paul Gingerich’s 2010 guilty plea on Tuesday, overturning the 14-year-old’s 25-year prison sentence and granting him a new trial.
It’s been two years since I first reported on Paul Gingerich. When he was only 12-years-old, he helped 15-year-old Cody Lundy murder Lundy’s stepfather before trying to run away to Arizona. They would both be charged as adults and Gingerich would be sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to the lesser charge of conspiracy to commit murder.
He would also become one of the youngest people in Indiana to be sentenced to prison as an adult.
But that may all change after the Indiana Court of Appeals reversed Gingerich’s 2010 conviction and ordered he get a new trial. They agreed with Monica Foster, the public defender who handled the appeal, that the court in Kosciusko County did not give the boy’s attorneys enough time to make the case that he should have been tried as a juvenile.
“The Constitution won today,” Foster said. “This is a 12-year-old kid who did not get the due-process protection of the U.S.…Continue Reading
MONROE COUNTY, IN – A 19-year-old tutor is looking at child molestation charges after a 7-year-old student says he molested her inside a classroom at a non-profit school for kids with dyslexia, ADD, and ADHD.
The victim told investigators that in October she was sitting in the lap of Benjamin Haile, a part time tutor at Pinnacle School, while watching a movie in a darkened classroom. She said Haile put his hands down her shirt and into her pants where he ”rubbed her girl part.” She said Haile had also taken her hands and forced her to “rub his boy part.”
Haile was questioned about the allegations and initially denied he had touched the girl inappropriately, but would later change that statement and tell investigators that it was all just an accident.
He said the girl’s leg was over his arm and he accidentally touched her private part but removed his hand immediately. He also told them he put his hand around her rib to take her off his lap, and accidentally touched her chest. I guess that’s a barely plausible explanation, but come on… you accidentally touched her vagina and her breast in one sitting?…Continue Reading
NEW ALBANY, IN -- On the same day Nikki Clark impaled herself with a window blind rod, a seven-year-old boy in Indiana died after being involved in a freak accident that left him with a tractor hook impaled in the back of his head.
David ‘DJ’ Elwanger was playing in the backyard last Saturday as his grandfather used a tractor to pull shrubs. The rope being used ended up snapping, sending an 8-inch, metal S-hook through the air and into the back of DJ’s head.
His dad, David Elwanger, said that he thought his son was just messing around when he fell to the ground, but then he saw the metal hook embedded in the base of his skull. He said he pulled the hook from his son’s head, then carried him into the house and called 911.
The boy was rushed to the hospital, alive but unconscious. Doctors did what they could but DJ died the next day. Floyd County Sheriff Darrell Mills says they have closed their investigation into DJ’s death, stating this is nothing more than an unforeseeable, tragic accident.…Continue Reading
MUNCIE, Ind. – Police in Indiana have arrested a woman after they say she drove her 16-year-old to attempt suicide and helped ensure the attempt was a success.
Sabrina Howard, 40, of Muncie has been charged with neglect of a dependent and causing suicide, both felonies, after investigators say she caused her suicidal son to take a handful of her prescription medication, then failed to render aid.
Police say that on July 10, Howard confronted her son, Charles Howard, about 20 missing Xanax, and 26 missing Lortabs. She said her son denied taking them, but that he had ”slow speech” and appeared “groggy.” Before he fell asleep on the couch, she warned him that if he had consumed that amount, then he had taken enough to kill him.
Despite this, Howard did not call for help and left him sleeping on the couch. She told investigators she would check on him periodically, but called 911 eight hours later when she noticed he was not breathing and had turned an unnatural shade of gray. But Howard’s call for help was too little, too late.…Continue Reading
Indianapolis, IN – Police in Indiana say a teenager fell to his death while trying to climb from one balcony to another during an underage drinking party at an apartment complex near the IUPUI campus.
At around 3 a.m. Monday morning, police were called to The Avenue Apartments after receiving calls about a loud party going on inside one of the apartments. When they knocked on the door of the apartment, they were greeted by someone telling them someone inside had just fell from the fifth floor balcony.
Police went back down to the first floor where they found 18-year-old Xavier Somerville unconscious on the sidewalk. Turns out Somerville got scared when police arrived at the door and had tried escaping by swinging from the fifth floor balcony to a fourth floor balcony, but lost his grip and fell.
“I saw him on the floor. I saw blood…his face was down…I saw blood on his face. I was just trying to be like, ‘Xavier, Xavier.’ I just kept breaking down more and more,” said one of Somerville’s friends who was at the party.…Continue Reading
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A man charged with the murder of a 3-year-old girl has admitted to beating the girl to death because she had soiled herself.
Last Tuesday, police were called to a home where they found 21-year-old Jose Cruz hysterical and his girlfriend in a bedroom with her 3-year-old daughter, Carmen. Police say the girl was not breathing and was “covered in bruises from head to toe.” She was rushed to the hospital and placed on a ventilator, but Carmen was pronounced dead on Wednesday. A medical evaluation determined the girl’s bruises were the result of beings struck with a flexible object, and that she had blunt force trauma to the abdominal area.
Cruz, who was initially arrested on preliminary charges of attempted murder, told investigators that he became upset over the fact that Carmen had soiled herself. In response, he says he beat Carmen with a brown leather belt, shook her, pulled her hair and threw her into a television. Police would later retrieve a brown leather belt from the home as well as a black power cord.…Continue Reading
This all started last week when Christopher and his 20-year-old girlfriend began to argue inside a parked car because she did not want to drive him to Valparaiso. Niloff became enraged and proceeded to hulk out on the car’s dashboard.
Niloff’s father, who happened to witness the commotion, came out to defuse his son’s hissy fit. This only further enraged Christoper, who got out of the car and began pummeling his 61-year-old father in the chest.
Also witness to this unfolding train wreck was Niloff’s 65-year-old uncle who decided the best course of action would be to call the cops and let them handle it. Niloff disagreed and charged his uncle before snatching away his phone. Now having the upper hand in the situation, Niloff allegedly grabbed his future baby’s mama by the throat and shoved her into a patio chair before ordering his dad and uncle to sit next to her or he would kill them all.…Continue Reading
On Friday, police arrested William Hurt, 18, Deadra Hurt, 19, Harley Wade, 16, and Andrea Hurt, 16. They have all been accused of murdering a homeless man, Marcus E. Golike, 54, and then dumping his body into the Ohio river.
All four teens lived with Debbie Hurt, a woman who runs a foster care home and brings in troubled juveniles. Deadra Hurt was her biological daughter, but Debbie had adopted William and Andrea Hurt. Debbie had let Harley move into the home within the last month, and just from reading the articles and comments about him, he is one messed up kid.
The victim was known to Debbie and the teens because Marcus’ mother was Debbie’s foster mother. Even though they were not biological siblings, Debbie and Marcus considered themselves brother and sister.…Continue Reading
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – I got an update on 39-year-old Mike Plumadore, the man charged with murdering and dismembering 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon last year.
On Monday, a judge sentenced Plumadore to life behind bars. Plumadore plead guilty to the murder last month and saved himself from the Pancuronium bromide and Potassium chloride cocktail he so richly deserves.
A few days before last Christmas, Plumadore was babysitting Aliahna and her 6-year-old sisters because their mother was sick. They all lived in the same trailer park and Plumadore was a trusted family friend who had cared for Aliahna’s dying grandfather who passed away a few weeks earlier.
Plumadore said that the next morning he woke up and found Aliahna missing. This would turn out to be partly true as cops would find the girl’s hands, feet and head inside Plumadores’ freezer. The rest of her was found in garbage bags at a nearby gas station. An autopsy report would reveal the girl had died from blunt force trauma and suffocation.
Plumadore was charged with Aliahna’s murder and prosecutors were going for the death penalty.…Continue Reading
Fort Wayne, IN – We just had a story about some Florida grandparents driving drunk while pulling their granddaughter behind them in a toy car, now we have a pair of morons in Indiana driving drunk with four kids strapped to the hood of a car.
Police were called after witnesses watched 29-year-old Aaron Stefanski and 29-year-old Jessica A. Clark leave a liquor store and proceed to use a tow strap to tie four children, ages ages 4, 5, 6, and 7, to the hood of their car before driving off.
A police officer would pull Stefanski over after observing him driving the car a few blocks away from the store with the children still strapped to the hood.
“I was only going to drive around the corner,” said Stefanski, whose blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. “I thought they would like it.”
He was arrested and charged with three felony counts of neglect of a dependent, felony operating a vehicle while intoxicated and four misdemeanor counts of criminal recklessness.…Continue Reading
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A community is reeling after a 14-year-old girl stabbed her 4-year-old cousin to death.
According to reports, Leon “Tater” Thomas III and his 11-year-old sister were at their grandparents, where their 14-year-old cousin also lived, when the stabbing took place.
The kids were in a front room of the two-story apartment while the grandparents were upstairs. Leon’s sister ran upstairs to get them when the older girl’s temper started to get out of control over reasons unknown. When she returned downstairs, she found that her cousin had repeatedly stabbed Leon.
The boy was rushed to the hospital, but would die later that day. The 14-year-old suspect was found shortly afterward walking down the street several blocks away, covered in blood.
She was taken to the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center on a preliminary charge of murder. Her detention hearing is scheduled to take place today, where it will be decided if she should remain detained and when prosecutors can ask that she be transferred to adult court.
The girl as an eight-grader at John Marshall Community High School who neighbors describe as a “sweet, quiet girl.” They say she belonged to the church and participated in youth programs and the choir.…Continue Reading
According to a probable cause affidavit, Brandy Star Williams, 31, was arrested early Friday after police officers saw her vehicle hit a curb and exceed the speed limit. She was stopped and a portable breath test measured Williams’ BAC to be 0.188 percent.
Williams was taken to a police station to undergo an official breath test. According to police, while seated and waiting – in handcuffs – next to Muncie police officer Michael Rehfus, Williams “stood up and she bolted out the door.” Rehfus’ report said Williams then “jumped over a railing and fled on foot.” Rehfus and other officers chased Williams on foot, but reportedly lost her about two-tenths of a mile away. Wow. Two-tenths…
“Officers in pursuit. [pant] Suspect now two-tenths of a mile northeast?!? [pant] She’s a freakin’ MACHINE!!! [pant]”
Williams would be located a short time later at her home – nearly three miles from the police station from which she had ‘hurriedly departed.’ She was taken back into custody.…Continue Reading
