LOWNDES COUNTY, GA – An autopsy report reveals that the death of 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson, the teen found dead inside a wrestling mat inside his high school’s gymnasium, was accidental.
Last Thursday, the family of Kendrick Johnson called police to report their son had not returned home from Lowndes High School and they were unable to locate him. The following morning, Johnson’s body was found in his high school’s gymnasium, stuffed upside down inside an upright, rolled up wrestling mat.
Initially, Johnson’s death was being treated as a homicide, but the autopsy report showed Johnson had not been in a struggle and had died inside the mat. What actually happened was far less sinister than murder, but just as horrific.
For unknown reasons, Johnson had climbed up on top of some rolled up wrestling mats and then fell inside the center of one. The teen went in head first and found himself stuck upside down and unable to move.
They don’t know for sure, but investigators believe Johnson was trying to retrieve a shoe.…Continue Reading
According to court documents, Carlos Eugene Cain Jr., 18, and Devon Ewing (pictured), 18 – seniors at Doss High School – devised a ruse whereby Ewing distracted the teacher while Cain recorded video up her dress.
“While the teacher was bent over helping Ewing,” the warrant said. “Cain was behind her and placed Ewing’s cell phone under her dress without her consent or knowledge. The video was uploaded to YouTube.”
Then, in an apparent effort to seal their fate, the warrant said Cain then let other student know about the location of the Youtube video – after which a student notified school staff. The arrest report says, when officials confronted Cain, he admitted his involvement in the presence of a deputy sheriff serving as the school resource officer. Cain also reportedly gave Ewing up as being in on it.
“Unfortunately, young people make rash and sometimes bad decisions and they will face the consequences for that,” said Lauren Roberts, spokeswoman for Jefferson County Public Schools.…Continue Reading
Buffalo, WY - Pat Lynch has resigned as head football coach of a Wyoming high school due to community outrage over a document that he included in a information packet sent to student players prior to a recent out-of-town game. The document, entitled “Hurt Feelings Report,” appears to be an incident report to be filled out by individuals after suffering an encounter that has left them with hurt feelings.
A copy of the form purported to have been sent can be seen here. For those who are click-challenged, the “Hurt Feelings Report” asks why the respondent is filing, offering choices such as “I am a pussy,” “I have woman like hormones,” “I am a queer” and “I am a little bitch.” It also asks the respondent for the “name of ‘Real Man’ who hurt your sensitive little feelings,” “name little sissy filing this report.” and the filer’s “girly-man signature.”
“[Lynch] screwed up, he screwed up big time,” Johnson County School Superintendent Rod Kessler said. “None of us are happy that it happened.…Continue Reading
MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – Police have arrested a teen’s mom after they she assisted her son in calling in a bomb threat to Morristown-Hamblen High School East.
Police have charged 40-year-old Teressa Williams with criminal responsibility after they say she used a convenience store pay phone to call in the threat to her 16-year-old son’s high school after he lost an appeal to his recent expulsion.
Charges are also waiting for Williams’ son, but police have not been able to locate him.
“We are always going to take these threats seriously and it is our job to keep the students as safe as possible,” MPD Chief Roger Overholt stated. “I hope the individuals involved in this crime will see the danger that they have placed responding agencies in and the misuse of emergency resources.”
For her actions, Williams is being held in jail on a $25,000 bond.
Anyone out there know why the son got expelled from the high school, please feel free to post. I am curious.…Continue Reading
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — A teenage student at Smithfield High School has been charged with cyberstalking after creating a fake Facebook account to harass another student.
The 15-year-old girl created a fake account pretending to be a fellow student who was born missing part of her foot. The account was created under the name “Halfafoot” with the victim’s last name and birth date. Accompanying the profile was a picture of a bloody, severed foot.
After police figured out who was responsible for the posting, the affidavit states they went to the teen’s home where her father was “annoyed and rude,” referring the police to the phone number of a law office. Detectives confiscated three computers from the home instead.
Police really took this seriously and questioned 2 of the 26 “friends” listed on the fake account and were able to get a clearer picture of how the profile was created and why.
A female Smithfield High sophomore told the police that the account was created Nov. 6 by the 15-year-old and a male Burrillville High School student on her home computer while she was taking a shower, the affidavit shows.
FRESNO, CA – I learned from John Bender that all you need to be a high school wrestler was a lobotomy and some tights, but I didn’t realize just how far into the realm of homosexuality a wrestler must be willing to travel. Seems there is a legal move in wrestling called the “butt drag.” This move consists of one wrestler putting his hands in the crack of another wrestler’s ass to position him. It is often taken a step further with a wrestler sometimes checking what his opponent had for dinner by shoving his fingers up his asshole. One teen, 17-year-old Preston Hill, used the butt drag on a 15-year-old during wrestling practice and is in now in court this week answering to sexual battery charges. The victim’s father says his son was penetrated for 30 seconds by Hill, causing some minor damage. “This kid basically targeted my son, pinned him to the ground and assaulted him,” he said. The 15-year-old also claims Hill made a threatening gesture at him before the match, a claim Hill denies.…Continue Reading
Benson, NC – Got a couple school related stories, starting with this one involving a school resource officer who was fired earlier this week after allegedly sending inappropriate photos to a student at West Johnston High School where he was assigned. Officer Todd Fair, 40, admitted to sending the photos to the student, but at this point no one knows what the photos contain exactly. According to the sheriff’s department Fair, “engaged in inappropriate conduct and conduct unbecoming of a law enforcement officer.” Some say if the allegations are true, then they are glad that he is gone. But others are having a hard time believing it. Maddie Calzaretta, a parent of a student at West Johnston, called Fair a “great man” who was always there when you needed him. “I just can’t believe it,” she said. Fair may not be facing any criminal charges (he won’t) but the district attorney says she has asked the SBI to investigate. Check out the 300+ comments at the second link I provided for an interesting read.…Continue Reading
Philadelphia – I wish the news article I got this from had not already used the term “soda poop” but they did and dammit I just cannot think of a title more fitting for this article. A 17-year-old student at Haddon Township High School has been charged with aggravated assault and tampering with a food product after he took a shit in a cup of soda a fellow student then drank from. The incident happened inside a classroom back in March. “Apparently once the victim drank from the cup, students in the classroom erupted in laughter,” said Jason Laughlin, a spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. The accused is a standout wrestler at the school, whose name has not been released because of his age. His mother told reporters that the entire thing has been blown out of proportion. All her son did was shit in a cup and let someone drink out of it. What’s the big deal? This wouldn’t be the first time a high school wrestler has gotten into trouble for pulling a mean-spirited prank.…Continue Reading
Brooklyn, New York – A janitor at James Madison High School in Midwood witnessed French teacher Cindy Mauro, 33, and Alino Brito, 29, a married Spanish instructor, naked with each other inside an empty classroom. The janitor, Robert Colantuoni, decided not to do what most hetero males would do in that situation and simply toss one off in the hallway and then write a letter to Penthouse. Nope, he went and told school officials. Since then, both women have been removed from the classroom and sent to Education Department “rubber rooms” while they’re investigated for misconduct. Lawyers for the women said they both “categorically deny the salacious allegations.” Both teachers were very popular among students and a Facebook Group has been created in support of the two teachers which I have joined. Also, if the two are guilty of the accusations or not, let me go on record and state that I strongly encourage all hot teachers to please think of the children and partake in this activity at every opportunity.…Continue Reading
BRITISH COLUMBIA — Looks like the Facebook group titled “National Kick a Ginger Day, are you going to do it?” is being blamed for another attack against a red-head kid. The group was created as a joke and heavily influenced by the hilarious South Park episode “ from 2005. The group suggests that on November 19th, you should kick a red-headed kid. Nanaimo high school student Aaron Mishkin, 13, was unaware of any of this when he went to Journey Middle School on Thursday, but found out quickly when he was continually kicked at school. “I became trapped trying to get through this press of people. And that’s when they kicked me from behind and I fell over.” When asked why a classmate was kicking him, he was told “You have no soul, so you probably can’t feel pain either.” *snicker* He was not the only red-head at the school targeted, and more than 20 students at were suspended.…Continue Reading
CLAYTON COUNTY, Georgia – Marcia Killebrew told reporters that her 16-year-old son was called out of the classroom by his substitute math teacher, Randolph Forde. Her son says that Forde asked if he was gay. This angered her son, and the next day he and Forde got into a verbal argument. Some time later, the Mundy’s Mill high school teacher told a student that he had a hit on someone and needed him to take care of it. When the student asked who it was, “the teacher held a piece of paper up with the victim’s name on it,” said Otis Willis III of the Clayton County Police Department. Killebrew’s son became alarmed and immediately told her. “He says, ‘Ma, you’re not going to believe this but Mr. Forde offered another student money to kill me,’” she said. The student told administrators about Forde’s questioning of his sexuality and the following argument, but nothing was done. It wasn’t until now that Forde was placed on paid administrative leave.…Continue Reading
PINE PLAINS, New York – I am sure almost every bit of this information will change as this story goes on, but reports are saying that a gunman, possibly a parent of a student, is holding the principal of Stissing Mountain High School hostage. The high school is currently on lockdown. Police are in contact with the gunman and have him confined to one room. Pine Plains Town Supervisor Gregg Pulver tells CNN the students “are safe at this point in time.” All of this began at around 8:30 a.m., no reports on why yet. I’ll add to this as more info comes out. Update: The man surrendered to police. They are saying no shots were fired, he was a former student and in his 40s…Continue Reading
Providence, Rhode Island – A fight broke out between player’s of a high school girls’ soccer match on Sunday night. During the final moments of Tolman vs. Woonsocket, a game that the Woonsocket Villa Novans had a 5-0 lead, a cat fight broke out between Kristen Cahill and Maria Lopera. There is punches thrown and hair pulling. It’s all very arousing. Then later on, a fight broke out in the stands between the fans. I had no clue that women’s soccer was this exciting. Between this and the ponytail-yanking actions of University of New Mexico‘s Elizabeth Ann Lambert I have come to a conclusion about all of this violence. And that is I know where I am looking for my next ex-girlfriend. …Continue Reading
Boise, Idaho – Kyle Cameron Dennis, 37, is a math teacher and varsity boys basketball coach at Capital High School who has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obscene live conduct in a public place. Basically, he got busted “knowingly engaged in obscene conduct…by manipulating his penis with his hands while walking around a store with an erection.” If this had been a one time thing, I would be crying foul. But Kyle seems to find himself in this situation a lot. Once in February of this year, and twice in June. These stores included a Costco as well as a Walmart. Boise School Board placed him on paid administrative leave Monday, pending the outcome of his court case, District Spokesman Dan Hollar said.…Continue Reading
PERRY COUNTY, Pa. - Eight teenagers have been charged with possessing child pornography after they were caught sexting – or for you technological lingo impaired, recording sex acts on their cell phones. Administrators at Susquenita High School caught three students with cell phones containing video and pics of other juveniles performing sex acts on each other. Currently, the law in Pennsylvania will not require these juveniles to register as sex offenders. But that may not last long as Pennsylvania is in the process adhering to federal law that would require juveniles found guilty of child pornography to register as sex offenders. If that isn’t controversial enough for people who think this is ridiculous, the law can be applied retroactively and applied to past cases. All I can say about this is THANK GOD I didn’t have a camera-enabled cell phone when I was a teen. …Continue Reading
Belleville, Illinois – Two of the students involved in the beating of a 17-year-old classmate while riding on a Belleville school bus will be charged with felonies for their part.
The altercation was captured on video (watch it after the jump), and shows a 17-year-old get beat by two different students within moments of each other. The race issue was thrown around when the story first broke, as the victim is white and his attackers are black, but more information has come out since these reports and it doesn’t look like race was a motivating factor. Or if it was, there is no evidence to support it.
The 14 and 15-year-old shown punching on the kid were not only expelled from Belleville West High School for the rest of this year and all of next, they were also charged with felony counts of aggravated battery. If convicted, they will spend some time in a juvenile corrections facility. “This is an egregious act,” said Belleville Township High School District 201 school board member Kurt Schroeder.…Continue Reading
Tampa Bay, Florida When ever an educational story crosses the wire, my interest is automatically piqued, especially when the topic turns into pro-active measures to increase curricular accountability. All levels of education are extremely important – from elementary school all the way through high school (and college). And although most elementary and Jr. High students don’t really mind having to attend school to study and learn, a contingent of high school students only show up because they have to or they simply enjoy the “social” aspects of being around their peers. So the battle ensues: How do you make a high school student accountable for their failing grades? Well, some parents are raising their eyebrows at the method of punishment Asst. Principal for Curriculum Olayinka Alege has chosen.…Continue Reading
MARIETTA, GA - We’ve been tough on pretty white girls this week, and I almost passed up this story when I first heard about it. Then I saw her name, and more details of what she did – being easily amused, I decided to go ahead and throw her on the FP.
Chelsea Steele is a 17-year-old cheerleader at Sprayberry High School. Last Friday, she and three friends stole $147 from some kids, one of which was in a wheelchair, who were selling T-shirts and hats at a neighborhood pool. After feigning interest in the items and making small talk, Chelsea snagged the money, hopped in a car and sped off.
Joe Green’s two daughters, aged 9 and 11, are the ones that were running the fundraiser. They were selling the items for extra summer funds and to help out his company, JAG Designs, which has experienced recent financial problems.
It is alleged that Chelsea walked up to the table where the merchandise was being sold and even commented that what the kids were doing was “sweet” when told why they were there.…Continue Reading
