Teacher Accused Of Putting Hit On Student
November 17, 2009 by Morbid
CLAYTON COUNTY, Georgia – Marcia Killebrew told reporters that her 16-year-old son was called out of the classroom by his substitute math teacher, Randolph Forde. Her son says that Forde asked if he was gay. This angered her son, and the next day he and Forde got into a verbal argument. Some time later, the Mundy’s Mill high school teacher told a student that he had a hit on someone and needed him to take care of it. When the student asked who it was, “the teacher held a piece of paper up with the victim’s name on it,” said Otis Willis III of the Clayton County Police Department. Killebrew’s son became alarmed and immediately told her. “He says, ‘Ma, you’re not going to believe this but Mr. Forde offered another student money to kill me,’” she said. The student told administrators about Forde’s questioning of his sexuality and the following argument, but nothing was done. It wasn’t until now that Forde was placed on paid administrative leave. His attorney says this is all a big misunderstanding. Merely a bad joke that has been blown out of proportion. [Read more...]

Stissing Mountain High School Principal Being Held Hostage
November 10, 2009 by Morbid
PINE PLAINS, New York – I am sure almost every bit of this information will change as this story goes on, but reports are saying that a gunman, possibly a parent of a student, is holding the principal of Stissing Mountain High School hostage. The high school is currently on lockdown. Police are in contact with the gunman and have him confined to one room. Pine Plains Town Supervisor Gregg Pulver tells CNN the students “are safe at this point in time.” All of this began at around 8:30 a.m., no reports on why yet. I’ll add to this as more info comes out. Update: The man surrendered to police. They are saying no shots were fired, he was a former student and in his 40s [Read more...]

Girls’ Soccer = RAWR!
November 10, 2009 by Morbid
Providence, Rhode Island – A fight broke out between player’s of a high school girls’ soccer match on SundaySunday reviews
night. During the final moments of Tolman vs. Woonsocket, a game that the Woonsocket Villa Novans had a 5-0 lead, a cat fight broke out between Kristen Cahill and Maria Lopera. There is punches thrown and hair pulling. It’s all very arousing. Then later on, a fight broke out in the stands between the fans. I had no clue that women’s soccer was this exciting. Between this and the ponytail-yanking actions of University of New Mexico’s Elizabeth Ann Lambert I have come to a conclusion about all of this violence. And that is I know where I am looking for my next ex-girlfriend. [Read more...]

Kyle Cameron Dennis Is A Show-Off
October 14, 2009 by Morbid
Boise, Idaho – Kyle Cameron Dennis, 37, is a math teacher and varsity boys basketball coach at Capital High School who has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obscene live conduct in a public place. Basically, he got busted “knowingly engaged in obscene conduct…by manipulating his penis with his hands while walking around a store with an erection.” If this had been a one time thing, I would be crying foul. But Kyle seems to find himself in this situation a lot. Once in February of this year, and twice in June. These stores included a Costco as well as a Walmart. Boise School Board placed him on paid administrative leave Monday, pending the outcome of his court case, District Spokesman Dan Hollar said. [Read more...]

Sexting Hijinks In Pennsylvania
October 5, 2009 by Morbid
PERRY COUNTY, Pa. - Eight teenagers have been charged with possessing child pornography after they were caught sexting – or for you technological lingo impaired, recording sex acts on their cell phones. Administrators at Susquenita High School caught three students with cell phones containing video and pics of other juveniles performing sex acts on each other. Currently, the law in Pennsylvania will not require these juveniles to register as sex offenders. But that may not last long as Pennsylvania is in the process adhering to federal law that would require juveniles found guilty of child pornography to register as sex offenders. If that isn’t controversial enough for people who think this is ridiculous, the law can be applied retroactively and applied to past cases. All I can say about this is THANK GOD I didn’t have a camera-enabled cell phone when I was a teen. [Read more...]

Felony Charges In Belleville West High School Bus Attack
September 22, 2009 by Morbid
Belleville, Illinois – Two of the students involved in the beating of a 17-year-old classmate while riding on a Belleville school bus will be charged with felonies for their part. The altercation was captured on video (watch it after the jump), and shows a 17-year-old get beat by two different students within moments of each other. The race issue was thrown around when the story first broke, as the victim is white and his attackers are black, but more information has come out since these reports and it doesn’t look like race was a motivating factor. Or if it was, there is no evidence to support it. More information and the video of the attack after the jump. [Read more...]

Asst. Principal Olayinka Alege Likes Guy’s Toes
July 26, 2009 by thinkgoat
Tampa Bay, Florida When ever an educational story crosses the wire, my interest is automatically piqued, especially when the topic turns into pro-active measures to increase curricular accountability. All levels of education are extremely important – from elementary school all the way through high school (and college). And although most elementary and Jr. High students don’t really mind having to attend school to study and learn, a contingent of high school students only show up because they have to or they simply enjoy the “social” aspects of being around their peers. So the battle ensues: How do you make a high school student accountable for their failing grades? Well, some parents are raising their eyebrows at the method of punishment Asst. Principal for Curriculum Olayinka Alege has chosen. [Read more...]

Chelsea Steele Is An Idiot
July 9, 2009 by Morbid
MARIETTA, GA - We’ve been tough on pretty white girls this week, and I almost passed up this story when I first heard about it. Then I saw her name, and more details of what she did – being easily amused, I decided to go ahead and throw her on the FP. Chelsea Steele is a 17-year-old cheerleader at Sprayberry High School. Last Friday, she and three friends stole $147 from some kids, one of them was in a wheelchair, who were selling T-shirts and hats at a neighborhood pool. After feigning interest in the items and making small talk, Chelsea snagged the money, hopped in a car and sped off. [Read more...]

Sexting Laws: Forward Or Delete?
March 25, 2009 by Common Terry
I was talking with a friend of mine about the realization of not having many old photos of any of us as teenagers to put up on our FacebookFacebook
page that we, like a lot of other people approaching middle-aged, have begun to invade. But then we decided that this was actually a blessing as we would not want pictures of some of the shit we did out there for the world to see. Because you know what? Had we had cameras around at our fingertips the way kids do today, we probably WOULD have snapped some unsavory pictures that could one day, come back to bite us in the ass.
