HAYWARD, Calif. – I have no idea why I have not heard of 26-year-old Michelle Hoang Thi Le until today. It goes against everything I thought I knew about pretty girls going missing.
Le vanished from Kaiser Hospital on May 27 after telling classmates she was going out to the parking garage to get some things. Her car was eventually located on the street a few blocks away, but Le hasn’t been heard from since. Her family put up a website and offered a reward of $65,000 for Le’s safe return.
On Monday, police revealed that the “safe” part is probably not possible and will now investigate her disappearance as a homicide. They believe Le was murdered in the Kaiser Hospital garage where her car was parked and that it was not a random attack, that the killer targeted her.
Capt. Darryl McAllister told reporters they came to this conclusion after performing a forensic examination of Michelle’s car and the area of the parking structure where it was parked, as well as information they got from interviews with friends, family and persons of interest.…
