According to court documents, 25-year-old Garrick “Joker” Hastings told a friend that he had killed a prostitute who had stole $6,000 from him. He claimed he had her kidnapped and taken to an abandoned trailer where he beat her with a metal rod, tied her up and then set her on fire.

According to the victim’s aunt, her niece lived with her boyfriend and Hastings, an alleged drug dealer and gang member.
