March 2, 2013 at 9:55 pm by Morbid
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – According to police, 39-year-old Eric Bischoff was arrested after he became angry at his wife over a photo she’d posted on the Internet and then hit over the head with an iPad.
According to court records, Bischoff and his wife got into an argument at their home about 12:40 a.m. last Saturday over a “picture displayed on the Internet.” Bischoff, who had been drinking, discovered Apple has an app for that and hit his wife in the head with an iPad a couple of times. She tried to get away, but he allegedly pulled her hair before throwing her to the floor of their backyard patio.
When police arrived at the the couple’s home they found Bischoff’s wife with injuries to her head, but they didn’t find Bischoff as he left the scene and had taken the iPad with him. He wasn’t arrested until the following Tuesday after being located at the 123rd Precinct station house.
Eric Bischoff was charged with second- and third-degree assault but later released on own recognizance, with a temporary order of protection.…

June 14, 2011 at 8:14 am by kniption
Piermont, NY - A federal lawsuit has been filed alleging that new volunteers in the Piermont, New York fire department are subjected to a hazing ritual during which they are forced to fondle the genitals of fellow firefighters.
The lawsuit was filed by the father of a 16-year-old volunteer firefighter candidate in Piermont. Given the age of the alleged victim, the lawsuit characterizes the hazing as not only a civil rights violation, but pedophilia.
The father reportedly said his son was unwilling to participate but was restrained and forced to put his hand on the defendants’ genitals.
Named in the lawsuit are three Piermont firefighters — Michael Bettman, Danny Goswick Jr. and Sam Kropp — and the Village of Piermont.
The lawsuit alleges that in August of last year, the then-16-year-old boy was held in a chair against his will and forced to ‘fondle and otherwise handle the genitalia’ of the three men. The lawsuit maintains that new initiates into the department were commonly subjected to such behavior.
Bettman, 30, of Sparkill has already been charged in Piermont Village Court with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation.…

Fayetteville, NC - Edward Colmon Williams and Harold Merideth Starling, Jr., both 20, were arrested after detectives participating in a sting operation say they saw the men approaching a porta-potty with lighters, diesel fuel, and cardboard. …and that can only mean one thing: feces flambé.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Arson Investigation Team has been plagued with a veritable shitstorm of portable toilet fires since April – more than 17 in all. The most recent was Tuesday morning at a local church. The fire damaged the church, melting the vinyl siding on one end of the building.
A church member estimated the damage to the church alone to be $3,500. We can only speculate on the cost of a porta-john, but I think that it can safely be said that are worth a shitload.
Williams and Starling were charged with multiple counts of burning personal property and burning of a church. They were processed into the Cumberland County jail under separate $12,000 bonds and are scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday afternoon.…

April 27, 2011 at 11:00 am by Morbid
SLIDELL, La.– The story of the man found shot to death and stuffed in the trunk of his car is gonna get even more interesting than it was when it was first reported.
It all started on Monday afternoon when someone called 911 to report they had heard gunshots coming from a neighbor’s home. When the responding officer arrived at the home of fire battalion chief David Smith, he was greeted by 33-year-old Michael Lizana claiming to be Smith’s roommate. The officer left having no reason to doubt the man’s story, but stuck around the area just in case. He ran into a fellow firefighter of Smith’s and after speaking with him, felt that something wasn’t quite right at the home.
When the officer went back to the home, he was once again greeted by Lizana but the officer went inside the home and found Smith. He was in the trunk of his Camero wrapped in plastic. He had been shot four times. Police arrested Lizana and charged him with first degree murder.…

April 23, 2011 at 3:36 am by kniption
Longmont, CO — Jesse Paul Hodgson, 37, a Colorado firefighter, pleaded guilty this week to one count of felonious attempted sexual assault and misdemeanor counts of unlawful sexual contact and indecent exposure. These charges are related to his arrest for exposing himself to a teenage girl.
Prior to his dismissal, Hodgson was the spokesman for Mountain View Fire Protection District which is based in the Longmont, Colorado area.
The release states police began investigating Hodgson based on a report filed in September 2010 by an adult female relative. That relative alleged that Hodgson attacked her in his home on Memorial Day 2010 when she was “extremely intoxicated.” The woman alleged previous instances of Hodgson requesting she watch him “pee in his diaper,” groping of her breasts and genitals and his requesting she watch him masturbate. According to her statement to police, she requested that he stop his behavior but her requests were ignored. The report filed alleged that, after the Memorial Day party at his home, Hodgson drove the woman and her children home and subsequently sexually assaulted her in her kitchen.…

Hamilton, VA – Late Friday night/early Saturday morning, a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputy was heading westbound on Route 704 when he met up with a fire truck, which was–as these vehicles are wont to do–traveling at a high rate of speed.
Uncharacteristically, the officer was forced to veer off into a ditch to avoid a collision with the weaving pumper truck. He then checked for fire calls (there weren’t any), turned his cruiser around, and pulled the truck over. Inside were five volunteer firefighters for the Loudoun County Fire-Rescue system–all of whom had been drinking.
Only the driver–27-year-old Sean Swanson–was arrested. Having failed a field sobriety test, he was taken to the Loudoun Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with DUI and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Swanson ultimately was released on his own recognizance and later resigned from his position, and two of the other firefighters that were in the truck have done so as well.
I wanted to post this partly because (considering there were no collisions, no one was hurt, and this was NOT a truck that was “on duty” at the time) it appeals a bit to that hidden rebel/former adolescent in me: “HELL, YEAH, IT’S NOT GETTING USED!…

January 4, 2011 at 10:24 am by JadedApopka, FL -- Police expect to file charges today against veteran firefighter Jason LeBlanc regarding an incident that happened at an alcohol-fueled Christmas party last month. At some point during the celebration, 44-year-old LeBlanc reportedly squirted lighter fluid on rookie Jack Shumate, 25, and lit him up. “(We) don’t believe any specific reason why it happened as far as some vendetta or some type of hazing,” said APD spokesman Officer Steven Popp. “His intentions were to put it out with a cup of water but when fire started, the victim immediately ran outside in an attempt to put out the fire.” Shumate didn’t want to press charges, but police carried on with the investigation regardless, interviewing nearly 20 witnesses to the event. Police say the Christmas party was not sponsored by the city, but several Apopka firefighters were there, as were numerous civilians. LeBlanc, an eight-year veteran, has since retired. Shumate, who had just passed his one-year mark with the team, continues to recover from second-degree burns to both legs.…
Continue ReadingFather Receives Video Of Dead Daughter Taken By Firefighter Who Responded To Her Fatal Crash
October 19, 2010 at 8:00 am by MorbidGRIFFIN, Ga. – Bad enough to lose a child in a horrific car crash, but for the parents of Dayna Kempson-Schacht, this has been compounded by the fact that a video of her dead body has been making the rounds through town. Back in July, the 23-year-old mother of two was travelling on Highway 19-41 when she lost control of her car and collided into some trees, dying instantly. An unknown firefighter from the Spalding County Fire Department who responded to the scene used his cell phone to record video of the wreckage, including Kempson-Schacht’s dead body and severe head trauma. He would share this video with fellow firefighters, who would then share the video with their friends and two-and-a-half months after losing their daughter, the video makes its way to Kempson-Schacht’s parents. “How could someone, first of all, take the video. And second of all, how could they show it and discuss it,” said her father, Jeff Kempson. ”When I close my eyes, it’s not fair that that video is what I see of my daughter,” said mother Lucreta Kempson.…
Continue ReadingMunson Township, OH- Beginning to think Ohio is the new Florida? Ha! Fat-chance there, but I did decide to give one of my favorite states to write about a break today and check out what the other ones had to offer. So, to answer the frequently asked question, “Why does it always happen in Florida?”, it doesn’t. Here is another story from the Buckeye State that will probably find its way from our front page to some of the other, less-read, poorly imitated versions of our site. Just remember, you read it here first and just like the drag-queens who imitate their favorite performers, their show may at times be entertaining, but it never can and never will be as good as the original. But, who can blame them. Any-who, a janitor noticed a phony air freshener inside a men’s bathroom stall of a YMCA locker room last Tuesday. The janitor opened it and found a digital camera inside that was set to record. Police were notified and investigators said the camera, which they believe had been there for less than 24 hours, did not have a transmitter connected to it.…

As they were crawling behind their grandmother to escape the flames, the two boys got lost and ended up in a bathroom. That is where firefighters found them, along with a puppy. All three died. Now the grieving mother, Viviana Delgado, wants to honor the two boys by celebrating Halloween like they did in the past. She opened up the now vacant home as a haunted house attraction. Now you and your family can take a tour through the home and even re-enact the two boy’s last moments by crawling down the hallway into the bathroom where they succumbed to the heat and smoke.…

And if, according to my fate, I am to lose my life; Please bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife.” An excerpt from “The Firefighter’s Prayer”. Perhaps Mike Hicks was having an off day as a firefighter – instead of having regard for human life and mourning a death, he allegedly tossed the body of his wife out and went about his business. The body of a partially clothed female was found in a wooded area, her head and hands were bound by ski rope and plastic material. Although her body had started to rapidly decompose from the heat at the time of her discovery, her condition was good enough for them to make out a tattoo. She was identified as the wife of firefighter/emergency responder Mike Hicks. So how did she end up there? What happened to her?…

Later in life I decided I’d step up the game and became a certified firefighter. If there’s one thing I don’t take lightly, it’s our pledge of service and the code of ethics. Nothing pisses me off more than hearing of some ass-wipe posing as “one of us”. I know one fuck-up does not ruin a profession’s reputation but I guarantee you, we don’t view it that way. And so it is David Santuomo, firefighter, who is the log I’m tossing into the blaze.…
