Couple Charged After Bullet In Child’s Hip Is Left Untreated For 6 Weeks

Fayetteville, NC — Police say a mother and her boyfriend are facing charges for failing to seek medical assistance after the woman’s 4-year-old child shot himself in the hip more than a month ago.
According to investigators, the boy shot himself back on August 26, but wasn’t seen at the hospital until October 5. The initial complaint at that time was that the child was having difficulty walking. Now, I’m not a doctor, but I’m guessing that the bullet found lodged in the kid’s hip may have played a factor in said gimpiness.
The boy’s mother, 26-year-old Quinisha Edwards, turned herself in Friday night – her bond was set at $100,000. Mom’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Vincent Massey, turned himself in on Saturday morning and is being held on a $185,000 secured bond. Both are now facing charges of felony child abuse, failure to store a firearm to protect a child, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Massey faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a felon.…

Naples, FL — Kelly Gresham, a rough 43, is back behind bars after allegedly shooting her boyfriend’s pregnant pit bull following a heated argument.
According to police, Gresham was hanging out at the bar with a couple friends Sunday evening when she began fighting with her boyfriend. When the argument escalated, the group exited the bar and headed for Gresham’s place.
The screaming and bickering continued on the drive home, with Gresham delivering several well placed punches to her boyfriend’s face.
Once the group arrived at their destination, witnesses say Gresham asked, “You wanna hear something funny?” before disappearing into the bedroom. Just moments later, several shots rang out and the boyfriend’s pregnant pup was no more.
When police arrived on scene, they found a dead pit bull in the front yard, a .380 caliber magazine, bullets, and one bullet casing as well as a plastic bag containing a wet bathing suit, a bloody towel, a bullet, and fecal matter. No firearm was recovered. Curious….
Gresham was booked on charges of animal cruelty, shooting a firearm indoors, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and battery.…

Jacksonville, FL -- Justin Satterfield, 25, and Brandy Purvis, 24, are being held without bond this morning, both having been charged with child abuse, after a nasty little incident at a Super 8 Motel early Wednesday morning. Authorities say the two were fighting that morning when one of them went for an AK-47 that had been concealed under a mattress. That led to more arguing as the two began rasslin’ over the weapon. At some point during the tug-o-war, the gun went off, injuring the couple’s 7-month-old baby boy. Police say the bullet grazed the child’s chest and arm – he remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries and is listed in serious but stable condition. Once he has recovered from the gunshot wounds, he will be placed in the custody of DCF. In addition to the child abuse charge, Satterfield has also been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Officers reported removing drug paraphernalia from the hotel room as well. Paulina, OR – The ignoramus you see to the left is 33-year-old Michael Sturgill. The inebriated idiot is facing numerous charges after he reportedly allowed a 10-year-old friend of the family to sit in his lap and steer the vehicle in which he, his wife and another young child were riding. I gotta say, as a driver’s ed instructor, Sturgill pretty much sucks – the girl behind the wheel ended up plowing the ’97 Kia directly into a guardrail. Fortunately, none of the passengers ended up as road kill. Sturgill and the girl were taken to the hospital by ambulance where both were treated for minor injuries. “It’s not a good thing,” said Dori Wilber, the mother of the girl steering the car. “She seriously could have been killed. I’m thankful she’s alive.” Sturgill’s wife and child, both seated in the backseat of the vehicle, escaped without injury. After his release from the hospital, Sturgill was booked on a DUII charge, three counts of reckless endangering, fourth-degree assault, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and felony driving with a revoked license.…
