DENVER, CO — An 82-year-old man died inside a parking garage elevator after he got stuck inside and no one answered his calls for help.

Isaak Komisarchik, who suffers from dementia, was reported missing after he was last seen wearing pajamas at 2:30 p.m. July 5 at a nearby nursing facility.

Search crews posted missing person posters as they looked for the man, and Denver firefighters ended up searching five nearby ponds.

It would be almost a month later before anyone learned Komisarchik’s fate, and it was quite horrific.

Turns out that Komisarchik had wandered nearly a mile away to the Woodstream Village apartments, where he got inside an elevator attached to a parking garage that had been closed for renovations.

For reasons unknown at this time, the man was unable to get out. During an 8-minute period, the poor guy twice used the elevator’s emergency call button, but no help came.

“The pushing of the call button did trigger a notification to the elevator management company, MEI Total Elevator Solutions.…

BROOKLYN, NY – After missing for a week, the body of 88-year-old Mary Joyce-Bonsignore has been located on the roof of the building adjacent to hers.

The elderly woman, who has a history of dementia and wandering off, was last seen in the early morning of July 17.

“She just finished her breakfast,” said her daughter, Maire Mason. “She was sitting on the front porch and her husband, Bob, went to go collect the garbage. I guess within 20 minutes she took off and went down the steps.”

Joyce-Bonsignore’s disappearance prompted her fellow parishioners at St. Finbar’s Church, along with local volunteers, to scour the neighborhood and post fliers.

A week after she went missing, a tenant of the building across from hers found maggots inside his second-floor apartment. He followed the trail of maggots which led him to the roof of his building. That’s where he found the missing woman’s body.

It seems Joyce-Bonsignore was disoriented and went into the wrong building thinking it was hers. Once she reached the top of the building she was trapped on the roof and remained there until she died.…

CHEROKEE VILLAGE, AR – A woman has been accused of chewing off an elderly woman’s chin and nipple before beating her to death.

It happened last week when a man returned home to find his mother and her caregiver, 55-year-old Jennifer Lea Collins, lying in a pool of blood.

Collins had blood around her mouth and the victim had bite wounds on her face, hand, arm, and leg. Even worse, part of her chin had been bitten off along with the nipple of her left breast.

When police arrived, the victim told them Collins “had bit her on the face and beat her.” Police tried to question Collins, but said she smelled of alcohol and made no sense when answering them.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and later transferred to another hospital for surgery. Sadly, she would die a week later from her injuries.

Collins was initially arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and abuse of an endangered or impaired person. She’s still incarcerated in the Sharp County Jail where she will probably be facing murder charges.…

VIERA, FL – An elderly man died after hitting a fire hydrant and then getting sucked into a hole made by the rushing water.

The freak accident happened on Wednesday after 89-year-old Robert Dreyer accidentally hit a fire hydrant on the side of the road.

Police say the collision was minor, but the impact caused water to spew from the hydrant.

Witnesses said Dreyer appeared unhurt when he got out of his car, but the ground had given way because of the rushing water and he dropped straight down into a 5-foot-deep, watery grave.

“There was a divot in the space where the fire hydrant used to be and right adjacent to his driver’s door,” said Channing Taylor with the Florida Highway Patrol. “He fell into that divot”

Witnesses pulled Dreyer out of the water moments later, but he would be pronounced dead after being transported to Viera Hospital. It was his 89th birthday.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the incident.

NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA – Police have a teen in custody after an 86-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and beat to death as on a high school track

Fusako Petrus was with a 61-year-old friend walking along the track at Highlands High School when they were allegedly attacked by 18-year-old Neven Butler.

Butler first attacked the 61-year-old and began choking her, but then turned on Petrus when she began hitting him in the back with her walking stick. Both women were sexually assaulted before the younger woman ran off and called for help.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Petrus unresponsive on the track. Despite attempting life-savings measures, Petrus would die from her injuries. Petrus’ friend was treated for injuries to her face, head and torso.

Spokesman Sgt. Tony Turnbull of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department called the attack “extremely violent” and that the women were beat with “hands and feet.”

Later that day, police were called after Butler was seen physically assaulting a 92-year-old woman. He was taken into custody without incident.…

BARRINGTON, RI – Two 97-year-old twin sisters froze to death Saturday after they both fell outside and were stranded overnight in freezing temperatures.

Martha Williams and her twin sister, Jean Haley, had returned to Haley’s home Friday night after having dinner with their 89-year-old sister.

Investigators say that as Williams was leaving Haley’s home, she fell in the driveway near the rear of her car. Haley saw what happened and went to go inside her home and call for help, but fell inside her garage.

“At this time investigators believe that foul play was not involved and Ms. Williams may have fallen in the driveway walking to her car. Ms. Haley may have tripped on a rug on the floor of the garage as she attempted to enter her house to call for assistance,” Barrington Police Chief John LaCross said in a statement.

Both women remained where they fell, enduring overnight temperatures that dropped to as low as 11 degrees, with wind chills as low as minus 8. They were not found until the next morning when a neighbor found them and called 911.…

hortonAVON PARK, FL – I plan on being a feisty old fart. I’m going to shimmy my old lady ass as I shuffle board in the morning, and drink a few margaritas while I play strip poker in the evening. I’m going to be amazing.

What I won’t be doing is waving my gun at the help, or being a general cantankerous ass like 91-year-old Max Horton, who was arrested after threatening to kill a landscaper for getting grass clippings on his car.

Robert Hendrix was working at Horton’s home when the elderly man confronted him about grass clippings that had landed on his car. Hendrix, who has known Horton for 14 years, brushed the grass off the car but Horton went apeshit, saying he was going to “fix the problem himself.”

Horton pulled out a gun from a pouch on his hip, then ordered Hendrix to his knees while telling Hendrix he was going to kill him. Hendrix begged “please don’t kill me” while backing up on his knees. Johnny Barnes, Hendrix’s coworker, saw this unfolding and approached Horton as he fired off a shot at Hendrix and then aimed the gun at Barnes.…

Bonnie TreasterCENTRE HALL, PA – Bonnie Treaster is behind bars today after the 46-year-old allegedly went after her 82-year-old boyfriend’s groin with a hacksaw.

On Last Friday, Treaster and her boyfriend arrived at the Mount Nittany Medical Center to treat injuries the elderly man had received after being assaulted. Police were called to the hospital where the man would tell them a person he did not know entered his home and assaulted him.

He was in the hospital for two days to treat lacerations to the head and finger that needed stitches, an injury to his genitals and a minor brain bleed. When he was released, he met with police at his home and told them who really kicked his ass.

The man told them that his assailant was actually Treaster, his girlfriend. He said she flew into a jealous rage and slapped him in the face before throwing things through the house and punching him in the face.

He said he tried running from Treaster but she tackled him in the garage and climbed on top of him.…

AA Auburn's Adult CareAUBURN, WA – Laszlo Molnar has been arrested after police say the 67-year-old was caught on camera raping an 83-year-old dementia patient in his care.

Molnar is one of the owners of AA Adult Family Home, a home care facility that specializes in Alzheimer’s. He was allegedly busted after the family of one of his patients feared she was being abused and placed a hidden camera in her room.

To their horror, they reportedly captured Molnar sexually assaulting the 83-year-old woman. After reviewing the footage, police took Molnar into custody and charged him with second degree rape.

“It’s a very disturbing video. Obviously very disturbing, very traumatizing for the victim and the family,” said Auburn police Commander Mark Caillier.

The home has since been shut down and all 12 residents were taken away and placed in new homes. Since many of them suffer from dementia and can’t communicate clearly, they’re all being checked for signs of sexual assault.

DSHS says they’ve never received any serious complaints against the home in the past, aside from reports of bed bugs and non-working smoke detectors.…

Sergio Martinez-PerezOMAHA, NE – Prosecutors have charged a a 19-year-old with first-degree murder and sexual assault after his victim, a 93-year-old widow, died from her injuries after being raped and brutally beaten.

Louise Sollowin died Wednesday, three days after the man broke into her home and attacked her, Omaha police said. Sollowin was found by an officer sent to the south Omaha house where the woman had lived for the past 71 years. She was discovered in her bedroom, bleeding, around 9 a.m. Sunday, according to reports.

Sergio Martinez-Perez, 19, was still in the house, naked and passed out on top of the woman, when police arrived. Now, I’m no lawyer, but I’d say that’s gonna be a pretty tough thing to explain away at trial. Authorities believe Martinez-Perez entered the home through an unlocked door.

Prosecutors say that Martinez-Perez admitted to assaulting and raping the elderly resident because he was “angry with women” after a night of drinking. Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine filed the murder charge on Thursday, adding it to already-pending charges of first-degree sexual assault, first-degree assault and burglary.…

maggotAUBURN, WA – Scores of maggots were discovered eating away at an obese elderly woman’s dead flesh, but authorities say there may have been an upside. The insects likely kept the helpless victim alive by slowing a spreading infection.

The 70-year-old woman’s daughter, Sherrie Morton, now faces felony elder-abuse charges after King County sheriff’s deputies found the victim stuck to her bedding in a home strewn with garbage and smelling of feces, urine  and ammonia, according to reports. She had  an unknown number of maggots eating at an open wound, and her bed sheets were described as being “soiled with the byproducts of an injury and covered in bugs.” Not unlike a freshman dorm room during finals week.

Deputies were called to the home near Southeast 315th Street, where they spotted the 70-year-old woman laying on a bed through a window. Upon entering the home, they were confronted by Morton, 46. She allegedly told detectives that she was her mother’s caretaker, and that she called 911 after spotting the maggots and smelling “rotting flesh” in her mother’s room.…

BATAVIA, NY — Last year we reported on Jacquetta Simmons, the woman who punched an elderly Walmart worker in the face after being asked to show her receipt. Last week a judge sentenced Simmons to five years in prison.

On Christmas Eve of last year,  26-year-old Jacquetta Simmons and her male companion were leaving a Walmart after having purchased some items at the electronics section located in the back of the store.

When 70-year-old Grace Suozzi asked to check her receipts against the items she was carrying out, Simmons punched the elderly woman in the face, knocking her to the ground and fracturing the bones in the side of her face.

Simmons and her friend fled to the parking lot but other employees and customers quickly surrounded their car and prevented them from leaving until police showed up. Simmons was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree assault, and released later on $40,000 bond.

Simmons would plead not guilty, but a jury would end up finding Simmons guilty in August and convict her under the state’s “Granny Law,” a law that gives stiffer penalties for assaulting anyone 65 or older.…
