Stephanie Shields Drowned Her Kids Then Killed Self After Husband Moved OutST. PAUL, MN — Autopsy results reveal 35-year-old Stephanie Shields drowned her two children, 7-year-old Nolan and 6-year-old Josephine, before killing herself.

A family member called 911 on Easter morning to report they had found Shields and her two children dead inside their home.

Shields’s husband, National Guard member Sergeant 1st Class Mark Shields, is the father of both kids and had just recently moved out of the home.

Both children attended Zimmerman Elementary School where Principal Susan Johnston said “Josephine Shields and her brother Nolan were part of our Zimmerman Elementary School family and we are deeply saddened.”

I know there is a likelihood that Shield suffers from some kind of mental illness, as normal people just do not up and drown their kids. But whenever I hear about cases like this, I’ve always felt it was an act of vindictive spite, not an act derived from a mental breakdown.

Admittedly, my opinion is based off of ignorance as I know absolutely nothing about this woman aside from her recent actions. For all we know, she may have displayed signs of mental illness all her life.…

Axel Charrette, 2, Drowned By Teen Babysitters Drug Crazed BoyfriendMexico City - Two-year-old Axel Charrette was killed in Sayulita, Mexico while on vacation with his family at a vacation home they were renting, and now his 16-year-old babysitter and her boyfriend have been charged with his murder.

In a statement released to The Watch, Jen and Randy Charrette stated they had hired a 16-year-old girl to help around their vacation home. On February 28, the girl was babysitting their two boys when she let her 17-year-old inside the home.

Realizing that her boyfriend was in a violent, drug-crazed state, she locked herself in a bathroom and left Axel outside the home and his older brother in another part of the house. For reasons unknown at this time, the boyfriend hurt Axel and then tossed him into a pool where he drowned.

They go on to say that the teen and her boyfriend have been arrested and charged with murder in Mexico City. They were also told by a source in the US State Department that the case is ‘Mexico’s number one priority right now.’

The Charrettes concluded the statement with, “There are no words to express our grief – but we wanted you to know what happened because the truth, as horrible as it may be, is important.…

Tired Of Caring For Autistic Son, Mother Admits Drowning Him In BathtubSAN DIEGO, CA –  A mother in California admitted to investigators that she drowned her 4-year-old autistic son in the bathtub because she was tired of taking care of him.

Back in March, 36-year-old Patricia Corby drove to a police substation and confessed to drowning her son, Daniel. Police would find her son wrapped in a blanket in the backseat of her SUV.  Efforts were made to revive Daniel, who was diagnosed with a high likelihood for autism, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Corby was arrested and charged with murder and assault on a child.

She would later tell Walter Escobar, an investigator with the District Attorney’s Office, that she drowned her son because she had no life due to her whole existence being dedicated to Daniel. She had initially thought of drowning herself, but didn’t want leave Daniel behind. So she filled a bathtub with a few inches of water, placed Daniel inside, then held him down until he died.

She said she tried to follow through with her original plan of drowning herself, but was unable to do so.…

Couple Drown And Their Teen Son Missing After Trying To Save Dog Big Lagoon, CA – A couple have drowned and their 16-year-old son is missing after all three went into the ocean to try and save the family dog.

The family were at Big Lagoon beach Saturday afternoon when their dog got stuck in the ocean after chasing a thrown stick. The teen out went into the eight to ten foot waves in order to rescue the dog, followed by the teen’s father.

The teen was able to make it back to the beach on his own, but once out of the water he realized his father was still stuck out in the ocean. This prompted him and his mother to go back out into the water to help him, leading to all three to getting swept out.

While this was happening, the couple’s daughter called 911. A park ranger made it to the beach after running 1/2 a mile to get there because his vehicle was unable to navigate the terrain. He was not able to go out and help the family because of the high surf.…

New Bride Drowns While Posing for Trash the Dress PicturesRAWDON, Quebec – A new bride was swept into a river and drowned while posing for pictures in her wedding dress.

Last week, 30-year-old Maria Pantazopoulos drowned while posing for “Trash the Dress” wedding pictures in the Ouareau River. When the subject of marriage ever comes up, I always suffer from a reaction akin to a vampire exposed to sunlight, so I was not aware of the “Trash the Dress” phenomena some recently married women partake in.

For those of you unaware, “Trash the Dress” is a a style of wedding photography that details a bride destroying her wedding dress instead of letting it rot in a closet while she slowly destroys a man’s soul. New bride’s will wear their dress one last time while on a beach, garbage dumps, fields, or abandoned buildings. A simple Google search pulls up tons of such images.

In the case of Pantazopoulos, the photographer she hired suggested a shoot at the Ouareau River. One account states she was standing on a rocky area in about a foot of water when her dress became so heavy from getting wet that she was pulled off the rocks and into the river.…

Girl, 3, Drowns In Hot Tub During Birthday PartyLAGUNA HILLS, CA – A 3-year-old girl drowned in a hot tub while attending a birthday party.

Ellison Susman was with her mother and younger sister attending an 11-year-old’s birthday party Saturday night at the Alicia Plaza Apartments. Ellison’s mother says she lost track of her for about 15 minutes while she breastfed her 2-month-old daughter. When she was finished and realized she didn’t see Ellison, she began asking some of the 60 people there if they knew where she was.

Ellison would be found close by, at the bottom of the hot tub next to the swimming pool. Ellison had been wearing a life vest, but looked as if she had removed it before somehow winding up in the hot tub. The vest was found later on the deck of the pool. Paramedics performed CPR on Ellison before taking her to Kaiser in Irvine and then later to Children’s Hospital of Orange County, where she died on Monday.

Ellison’s father offered parents a word of warning that I thought was pretty obvious to begin with.…

Cops In China Save Sex Doll Saved From DrowningShandong, China – Giving new meaning to the phrase “rode hard and put away wet,” eighteen of China’s finest came to the aid of a woman who’d reportedly submerged into one of the province’s rivers–only to find that the  ”damsel in distress” was a female sex doll.

The crew had worked frantically for nearly an hour to rescue the “woman” after police responded to a call of a female possibly drowning in the river.  After realizing they had just rescued someone’s blow-up lover, they held it up to the crowd of approximately 1,000 who had gathered to watch the rescue efforts who shielded their children’s eyes and dispersed.

No telling how the sex doll got in the river in the first place, but the Times of India reports that Shandong is a large producer of sex toys and supplies them across the globe.

This is the second story out of China in about a month detailing a sex toy being mistaken for something else. I don’t know if you caught it or not, but one Chinese television station sent out a young female reporter, Ye Yunfeng, to a remote village where a strange mushroom had been discovered.…

Man Charged With Raping, Murdering Sierra Newbold Made First Court AppearanceSALT LAKE CITY, UT –  Terry Lee Black, the 41-year-old man accused of kidnapping, raping and murdering 6-year-old Sierra Newbold, made his first court appearance today.

For those of you who missed the story, Sierra was reported missing by her mother on the morning of June 26 after she woke up to find that her daughter was not in the house. Thirty minutes later, the little girl was found dead, floating face down in a nearby canal.

Autopsy reports would show that Sierra died from drowning, but that she had also been raped, strangled and beaten.

A video camera mounted on Newbold’s home captured a man entering through a sliding glass door at around 3:00 a.m. and leave moments later carrying something. Police would also find Sierra’s pink pajama bottoms and underwear in a burnt out field a short distance from Sierra’s home.

Three days later, Black was arrested shortly after robbing a Wells Fargo bank in West Jordan. He got caught after leaving the bank and returning to a Jeep he had stolen earlier.…

Mother Kills Her Twin Babies Because Of Their Fathers Possible Affair Philadelphia, PA – Police in Philadelphia have accused a woman of killing her twin babies, and attempting to kill her young daughter, after learning the children’s father was having an affair with one of her family members.

After returning home from work last Thursday, Ronald Smalls found that his wife, 41-year-old Stacey Smalls, had murdered their twins, tried to poison their 4-year-old daughter, and had slit her own wrists. Police believe Smalls, a former corrections officer who worked at a nursing home, strangled one twin and drowned the other.

She also tried to poison their 4-year-old by having her ingest a poisoned drink. The girl probably saved her own life after becoming suspicious and refusing to drink all of it. She was admitted to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and is expected to be released to her father.

Smalls was taken to the hospital after unsuccessfully trying to take her own life by slitting her wrists. She is currently in police custody on two counts of 1st-degree murder and is on a suicide watch.…

Man Drowns After Being Attacked By Swans

April 17, 2012 at 8:44 am by

Man Drowns After Being Attacked By SwansDES PLAINES, IL – A 37-year-old man in Illinois drowned in a condo’s retention pond after being attacked by one or more swans.

Anthony Hensley worked for Knox Swan and Dog LLC, a company that places swans or dogs in areas experiencing problems with the geese population. Hensley was at the Bay Colony Drive condos early Saturday morning, caring for swans they’d placed in their retention pond.

Residents say Hensley has been a regular visitor there for years, often seen on the pond in his kayak caring for the swans and feeding them. But tragedy struck that morning when one or more of the swans attacked him. No one knows exactly what prompted the attack — some thinking he just got too close to their nest or eggs — but whatever the reason, it resulted in Hensley’s kayak flipping over.

He was a good swimmer, but a combination of being fully clothed and wearing boots made it difficult for Hensley to keep his head above water. This was made especially laborious by the swans who continued their assault on Hensley as he tried to swim to shore.…

Toddler Dies After Falling Into Running Washing MachineHILLSBORO, Oreg. — A toddler in Oregon drowned after he fell into the family’s running washing machine.

According to the reports, the 21-month-old  Oliver Hebb fell into the machine after he climbed on top of it while his mother, Tiffany Hebb, was in another room reading a magazine. Sadly, the machine was in a wash cycle.

Oliver’s mother found him partially submerged in the machine within minutes and pulled him out, but he wasn’t breathing. Her screams alerted neighbors who performed CPR on the boy. They were able to get Oliver breathing again but he never regained consciousness.

The family removed Oliver from life support on Sunday after it was determined that he was brain-dead.  An autopsy report would reveal Oliver Hebb died of oxygen deprivation to his brain as a result of drowning and suffered physical trauma from the washer’s agitator.

Most washer’s are equipped with a safety mechanism that stops all mechanical functions if the lid is opened. That doesn’t always keep the machine from filling with water,  or in this case, the agitator from working.…

Mom Accused Of Letting Son Drown Because She Hated HimLakeland, Fl – I know this is from last month, but dammit I wrote it up yesterday unaware of that fact and it seemed a shame to just toss it in the trash.

Police say a woman in Florida purposely left her 1-year-old son in a bathtub to drown because she hated him. According to the reports, 32-year-old Neha Patel admitted that she hated her son, Isham Patel, since the day he was born and blamed him for her depression.

On Thursday, she was alone with the 1-year-old when he began crawling towards her. In an effort to curb Isham from ever approaching her, she told police she slapped him before putting him in his crib for a nap.

When he woke up, she placed him in a half full bathtub and then walked out of the room. When she returned 10 minutes later, she found Ishan submerged and unconscious. Instead of calling 911 or performing CPR, she loaded the boy in her Toyota Sienna and took a road trip.

First she drove to a supermarket parking lot, then back home, then to Ocala and then to Tampa International Airport.…

Man Charged With Murder After Drowning Daughter In CreekFreehold, NJ – Prosecutors say that on November 21st Arthur Morgan III attached a car jack to his daughter’s car seat and tossed it into a car creek with her strapped inside.

The body of 2 year-old Tierra Morgan-Glover, who prosecutors say was  “awake, alert, and helpless” when her dad put her in the creek,  was found partially submerged the next day by children playing nearby.

Morgan had picked up the girl from her mother to take her to a movie. When he did not return for a few hours, Imani Benton called police. By that time, Morgan had already left the park where the creek was. According to the prosecutor, Morgan went from the park to a friend’s house. There, he had a few drinks, gave away his car and some other belongings, and headed for a nearby train station.

He was arrested a week later, mere miles from the Mexican border in California. On Monday  he stood in court, stone-faced and calm, answering to the charge of murder.…

Pampers Diaper Saves Baby After Familys Car Plunges Into LakePEMBROKE PARK, FLA. – Police say a Pampers diaper saved the life of a toddler after an argument between her parents sent the family’s car into a lake.

According to police, 27-year-old Sandro Michel began fighting with 33-year-old Catherine Copeland while Copeland was driving at around 12:30am Tuesday. In the car with them was their 3-year-old daughter, Sariyah Michel.

Witnesses described seeing Copeland driving erratically, while Michel was hitting her, before the car veered off the road and plunged into a lake.

When police arrived they were not able to locate the couple until one officer heard Copeland screaming for help as she stood on the roof of the sinking car. As she was being pulled to shore, Copeland began screaming that her baby was still in the car.

As police frantically looked around for the little girl in the dark, murky waters, something caught one deputy’s attention.

“All of a sudden this little thing popped up like a cork,” Deputy Cazi Navarro told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “I saw it was a Pamper, and attached to the Pamper was this little girl,” he said.…

Judge Rejects Plea Deal For Mom Accused Of Drowning Son In BathtubLOUISVILLE, KY – A judge surprised everyone during the sentencing phase of a woman accused of killing her 8-month-old son by rejecting a plea deal the defense and prosecution had agreed upon.

First, here’s a little background. Back in 2010, police arrested Geneva Walters, accusing her being responsible for the drowning death of her son, Michael Cowherd. Police say Walters had given the boy adult-strength Tylenol before leaving him in the bathtub while she prepared formula, stopping short of placing a cinder block on the boy’s chest to keep him occupied.

She would be initially be charged with wanton endangerment and manslaughter, but earlier this year, Walters plead guilty to reckless homicide in a pretty sweet plea deal.

Both her defense and the prosecution had reached a plea agreement that would have Walters serving 60 days in jail and being placed on probation for five years. Not too bad for being an idiot who killed their kid.

Typically, judges will rule in favor of plea agreements, but Judge Stevens surprised everyone Thursday during sentencing when he bitch-slapped that plea deal into oblivion and then sentenced Walters to the maximum sentence of five years behind bars.…

Parents Charged After Baby Drowns In Bathtub

Parents Charged After Baby Drowns In BathtubAlbuquerque, NM — The she-beast to the left is 35-year-old Marisa Tso – both she and her man, 27-year-old Christopher Richards, are behind bars after their 10-month-old son drowned in the bathtub.

Tso and Richards apparently had better things to do than to hang out with their offspring Friday evening, so they plopped the baby in the tub with his 2-year-old brother, locked themselves in a bedroom and proceeded to get their drink and nookie on.

Two hours had passed – yes, I said two hours – when their toddler, concerned about his little brother, knocked on the bedroom door and said, “Baby.” Oops, baby was dead. And, really…can you believe the nerve of that kid? Getting all dead and stuff, ruining mommy and daddy’s buzz? Damn brat…

Anyway, Richards reportedly tried to resuscitate the child while Tso coached and prayed to the Lord Jesus above to make her baby all better. Just kidding…Tso started picking up all the empties around the apartment. Wouldn’t want police and paramedics to think she was a slob now, would she?…

Man Charged With Abducting Two Sons Then Drowning Them In CreekDallas, TX – A Dallas man has been charged with abducting his two young sons and then drowning them in a creek.

Police say the children’s mother was walking 5-year-old Naim to school for his first day, along with his 3-year-old brother, Elijah, when their father, 32-year-old Naim Muhammad, drove up and forced all of them into his car while threatening them with a brick.

The couple have a history of domestic violence, but were separated. Relatives say they had recently been arguing over their children. The mother was able to jump out of the car when a constable drove up, but Muhammad jumped the curb and drove off.

Several hours later, authorities received a 911 call from a woman who said her son had drowned her grandchildren. Police would eventually find the two boys in the back of their father’s car parked in a parking lot. Muhammad had drowned both of them in a muddy creek.

“I think everyone’s hurt in this case,” said Deputy Chief Craig Miller. “I think officers that open up the trunk of a vehicle, the back hatch of a vehicle, and see a deceased three-year-old and a five-year-old, I think each one of us think about our own children, the vulnerableness of life.”

Muhammad was found by a SWAT team in a nearby creek and taken into custody. After his arrest, Muhammad told reporters, “I got something to say.…

Dad Of Kids Killed After Mom Drove Into River Suing For $80 MillionNEWBURGH, N.Y. – Back in April we reported on LaShanda Armstrong, the 25-year-old mother who killed herself and three of her children when she intentionally drove her minivan off a boat ramp and into the Hudson River.

Now the father of those three kids, 26-year-old Jean Pierre, is suing for $80 million.

Armstrong packed up her four kids into a minivan and then drove into the 45-degree water of the Hudson after getting into an argument with Pierre. She would drown along with Landon Pierre, 5; Lance Pierre, 2; and 11-month-old Laianna Pierre.

“If I’m going to die, you’re going to die with me,” Armstrong told the children before the vehicle went into the water.

But Armstrong’s 10-year-old son, Lashaun, decided this sucked and crawled out the window as the van was sinking. As he did, Armstrong grabbed his leg. “I made a mistake,” she told him before letting him go.

Armstrong’s decision to kill herself and her children came minutes after witnesses described Pierre cursing and banging on Armstrong’s apartment for 30 minutes.…

Fleeing Shoplifting Suspects Drown In Creek

August 9, 2011 at 7:49 am by

Fleeing Shoplifting Suspects Drown In CreekCharlotte, NC – The storm that knocked out my AC over the weekend, leaving me with a four day (and counting) case of swamp-ass, was also responsible for dumping over six inches of water in some areas in a matter of hours.

While the rain was coming down, a security guard was chasing three people suspected of stealing clothing and jewelry from a Burlington Coat Factory.

One of the three suspects was apprehended outside of the store, while the other two suspects, 43-year-old Gracie Nell Johnson and her 16-year-old daughter, Rianna Tarell Johnson, ran behind the shopping center and down an embankment.

There they both made the foolish decision of jumping into McAlpine Creek, which ran behind the shopping center, in an attempt to shake off the pursuing guard. The plan worked a little too well.

Whether they planned on crossing the creek or swim downstream is unknown, but what is known is that on a normal day the creek is so shallow you can walk across it — normally only 2-feet deep .…

Dead Body Remained Undiscovered In Public Pool For Two DaysFall River, Mass. – This story is quickly going viral, so I figured what the hell, it’s more interesting than the Walmart hammer attack I was about to post. Police are saying that the woman pulled from a public swimming pool on Tuesday likely drowned on Sunday and remained floating in the pool for almost three days without anyone noticing.

Marie Joseph, 36, went to the Vietnam Veterans’ Pool at Lafayette Park with another family on Sunday and helped escort a 9-year-old on a slide that dumps its occupants into the deep end of the pool. The boy says after he hit the water, Joseph came down the slide unexpectedly and landed on him. He never saw her come out of the water.

The boy told lifeguards, but they allegedly ignored him. Joseph’s family realized she was missing when she never returned home and became increasingly worried after pool personnel returned some clothing, a cell phone and a Massachusetts identification card they had found at the pool after closing on Sunday evening.

The pool was open for business Monday and Tuesday, packed with swimmers beating the heat who never noticed or saw poor Joseph’s body floating in the water.…
