True Crime Author Dale Hudson Found Dead In Pee Dee River

Horry County, South Carolina The community of true crime bloggers, enthusiasts, and authors are coming together in the virtual world with hopes of finding answers to the disappearance of one of our own. William Dale Hudson, 56, has made his name authoring several true crime books including Kiss and Kill and All I Want To Do Is Kill – often spotlighting heinous murders that occurred in his part of the country. His 2006 novel Dance Of DeathThe Dance of Death reviews is a tale of a North Carolina woman who’s double life and the thirst for money resulted in a life sentence in prison for arranging her husband to be murdered on their 3rd wedding anniversary. What Happened To Jennifer Lee Hampton?

UPDATE 10/01/08 – Valentino Vasquez Miranda, 19, has been charged with first-degree felony murder in connection with the disappearance and death of Jennifer Lee Hampton. HotelHotel reviews key card records showed that MirandaMiranda reviews, a Days Inn employee, used his passkey to enter Jennifer’s room, where he then sexually assaulted and strangled her. Both Miranda and Rogelio Melchor, 38, are illegal immigrants who were arrested on forgery charges earlier in the investigation. Melchor has not been charged, but is considered a person of interest in Jennifer Hampton’s murder.  Authorities say more charges for both men may be forthcoming.  I’ll update as more details become available.

Knoxville, TN and Florence, AL – Jennifer Lee Hampton was only in town for a business trip. On Friday night, the 21-year-old woman disappeared from the Days Inn in Farragut, Tennessee, a suburb of Knoxville.  Hampton was last seen at about 9:00 p.m. FridayFriday reviews closing the door to Room 146.   Now police say they have evidence of foul play.  As I write, Jennifer Hampton has not been found.
