Aiken, South Carolina Meet Erica. Her self-described MyspaceMySpace entry states her interests are kids, butterflies, and shopping. Her favorite television shows are American Idol, CSI, General Hospital, Dragon Tales (PBS), and The Big Comfy Couch (ABC Kids). Newly married and cute as a button, why parents would have a problem choosing her as their children’s daycare provider is beyond me. But I’m thinking, after her stint in prison, she might be looking for a new career other than running a daycare. Who the fuck knew that children cried and screamed? Sarasota, Florida — Mark Dungan-Carpenter, 21, lived at Sandy’s Family Childcare, a private residential child care facility owned by his mother and operated by his grandmother.  Although he wasn’t an employee, he was occasionally paid to babysit the kids.  According to police, Dungan-Carpenter was doing a little more than babysitting.  He was arrested for sexually battering a 5-year-old boy at his home daycare. Inver Grove Heights, MN – After complaints from the grandmother of a 3-year-old-girl, police began an investigation into a home day care operated by Deborah Schneider. The investigation centered around a 3-year-old’s statement that Deborah’s husband Chris Schneider, 48, had “drank from her bum”. After being arrested for suspicion of sexually assaulting the little girl, Chris finally admitted that the girl’s claims were true. While she was out, Cody decided to focus his attention on a little boy being cared for at the home. AIRMONT, N.Y. (AP) — Tiffany Fraser, 26, (pictured left) has been arrested for stuffing her 7-year-old son in a hot oven as punishment for losing a cell phone. She pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault, a felony, in Village Court. She previously had been charged with a misdemeanor in the case. Also charged in connection to the incident is Joelle M. Lherisson, 37, (right) the child’s day care provider. She was charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to report child abuse. She has pleaded not guilty. Her license to operate a day care facility at her house has been revoked by the state.

TRENTON, N.J. – 11-month-old Tahir Francis was fatally beaten at a home day center. Authorities state that a 9-year-old boy repeatedly hit Tahir in the head a week ago, causing skull fractures. Tahir was taken to a hospital and died about six hours later while undergoing surgery.

The 9-year-old has been charged with the juvenile equivalent of aggravated manslaughter and has been released on house arrest to his parents.
