Couple Accused Of Locking Two Girls Inside Dirty Mobile Home While They Played World Of WarcraftFULLERTON, CA — Lester Huffmire and his wife, Petra Huffmire, have been accused of keeping two young female relatives malnourished and locked inside a nasty trailer for years while they played World of Warcraft all day.

It is being alleged that between May 21, 2010, and May 20, 2013, the couple lived in a mobile home at the Satellite Mobile Homes Estate and prevented the two girls, ages 5 and 10, from leaving the trailer for any reason, including attending school.

Police got involved after multiple calls from concerned neighbors. Grace McKee said she called officials more than once to report something weird was going on with her neighbors, the last time was 12 days ago. “I wish I had forced the issue years ago. They sorta said, ‘If you don’t see much, why should we come out?’ That sort of thing,” she said. “I wish I would have really, really insisted.”

Witness McKayla Smith said she briefly saw one of the girls as she stared at her through a window. “She had a really crazed look on her face.…

Arrest Warrant Issued For Carrie Waldo, Mother Of Child Who Lost 7 Fingers To Pet FerretKANSAS CITY, MO. — Well would you look who’s back on Dreamin’ Demon. Some of you may not remember Carrie Waldo, but two years ago she and her husband were charged with felony child endangerment after their infant had seven fingers chewed of by a ferret.

When we last reported on the couple, they told police they were both asleep when their pet ferret started chewing off all of their 4-month-old boy’s fingers. By the time their son’s cries woke them up, he only had three fingers left; two thumbs and a pinkie. According to the couple, the ferret had never been aggressive towards their son before.

It would later be proven that the couple were lying through their teeth and had not even been home at the time of the attack. Phone records and GPS location documents proved the couple were away from their home while their infant screamed bloody murder while feeding the ferret.

The couple’s landlord would also debunk the couple’s claims of the ferret not being aggressive after telling them that four days before this incident, the Waldos wanted to give the ferret away after it had bitten their baby twice, but obviously ended up keeping it.…

Lisa Velez Arrested After Found Living In Squalor With Her Two Autistic ChildrenCape Coral, FL – Police were called to Lisa Velez’s home on Sunday evening after she was found living with her two autistic children, one legally an adult and one a minor, in total and complete squalor.

They may have been called there by Velez’s estranged husband, who had returned to the home after being gone for over a year. He found Velez and his two autistic daughters living with eight cats inside a home littered with a bevy of cats, feces, trash, old food boxes, ants, spiders, vomit, roaches and general nastiness. There were even animal carcasses on the back patio.

It could have been her neighbors who have long suspected something wasn’t right inside the home. “I would come out at 10:30 at night and she’s out there, her daughter out there running around the street, yelling at every car over 30 miles an hour,” a neighbor said.

It may have even been DCF, who hav been investigating Velez for two years. They had visited the home previously and had instructed Velez to clean up the living conditions for her kids.…

Ex councilman Charles Wingate Cited For Neglect After Autistic Teen Found Living In Filth.Colorado Springs, CO – A former Colorado Springs city councilman and his wife have been cited with child neglect after officers responding to a welfare call discovered a naked 13-year-old with autism living in deplorable conditions.

Charles Wingate and his wife, Sharon Starkey, were not home at the time police responded to the call by a concerned neighbor. But the boy wasn’t completely alone in the home, as police found him amongst a savory assortment of both live and dead rodents, as well as scattered feces.  The condition of the home was so bad, code enforcement was sent out immediately and condemned the house as unsafe for living.

It’s unclear what prompted the neighbor to call authorities, especially since neighbors said they hadn’t seen the boy outside of the home in years.  Here comes the real sad part:  “The boy stated he is an only child, home-schooled, and does not remember ever being outside the house,” local police stated in a news release. It’s not conveyed in the source whether the child is the biological progeny of one or both of these two fine human beings.…

Two Women Charged With Cruelty After Leaving Children At Bar To Go On Mothers Day Booze CruiseOcklawaha, FL - Police arrested Billie Jean Williams, 27, and Mary Joyce Daffron, 28, after they say the two women left their young children alone at a beach bar on Mother’s Day so they could go on a booze cruise.

On Mother’s Day, law enforcement were called to Gator Joe’s Bar and Grill on Lake Weir after two children, ages 8 and 6, approached employees to say they could not find their mothers and felt that they had been abandoned.

The children told responding police officers that they were playing on the beach when they noticed their mothers were missing. Police started looking for the women but only found their chairs and belongings undisturbed on the beach.

That’s when a man named “John” approached deputies and told them he knew one of the women and had seen her and the other woman get on a boat an hour earlier. The boat the women were on eventually came back to the beach and the two women, who were highly intoxicated, fell into the water as they tried to get off.…

Herbert And Catherine Schaible Lose Second Baby To Faith Healing PHILADELPHIA, PA – Herbert and Catherine Schaible, a couple already serving 10 years’ probation for the 2009 death of their toddler after they turned to prayer instead of a doctor, has violated their probation now that a second child of theirs has died.

Herbert and Catherine Schaible lost their 8-month-old son, Brandon, last week after the child suffered from diarrhea and breathing problems. According to news reports, the toddler suffered for at least a week, and stopped eating. His parents belong to a fundamentalist Christian church that believes in faith healing. In 2009, another son, Kent, died after his parents chose to rely on prayer instead of medical care. 2-year-old Kent died from bacterial pneumonia, leading to the couple’s 2010 conviction for involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that a decision on charges will be made after they get the autopsy results. Catherine Schaible’s attorney, Mythri Jayaraman, cautioned against a rush to judgment, though, and said the couple are good parents deeply distraught over the loss of another child. After all, they’re 0-for-2 now.…

Shawn Hughes Accused Of Trying To Sell Kid To Get Girlfriend Out Of JailKINGSPORT, TN - Earlier this month we had a story about a mother trying to sell her kids to get her boyfriend out of jail. Now we have a story about Shawn Hughes, a 32-year-old man from Tennessee who tried selling his kid to get his girlfriend out of jail.

Last Thursday, the grandmother of 27-year-old Jessica Carey called police to report that her granddaughter had abandoned her two children at her home and she’d been caring for them for almost a week. Carey was located and arrested on an outstanding warrant for aggravated child abuse and neglect.

Her boyfriend, Shawn Hughes, was arrested an hour later on a DUI charge. After bonding out on Monday, Hughes went to his girlfriend’s grandmother and asked the 75-year-old woman for $2,000 so he could bail Carey out of jail. She refused to give him the money and Hughes never made any attempt to retrieve the couple’s children.

He returned the next day begging for $300 in bail money, which the woman gave him.…

Deputies initially responded to the couple’s home after a report of a domestic violence assault, but once inside, they found the couples’ children, ages 1, 2 and 5, living in squalid conditions.

One of the younger children was sleeping in a crib on a soiled mattress with exposed metal springs. Next to the child was rotting sandwich meat. Another child was found in her room, naked with what smelled and looked like urine in her hair and several insects crawling on the child.

Knives were also found within reach of the children, and cocaine residue was located on a bathroom counter.

Aside from the child neglect charges, Stephanie Palmer was also charged with domestic battery, related to the original disturbance call, and is being held without bail. Jess Palmer remained in jail on a $5,000 bond.…

Florida Man Charged After Child Drinks Drano From Sippy Cup In Meth Lab Florida - Jonathan Wayne Glass is behind bars after his child drank Drano from a sippy cup inside a Florida home meth lab.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened on Feb 20th, when an unsupervised child found a sippy cup in the bathroom of an apartment where meth was being produced. Thinking it contained juice, the child drank the drain cleaner and the reaction was immediate.

Police say that the people inside the apartment waited 30 minutes before trying to get help for the child, who was eventually transported to the hospital for treatment and remains in critical condition.

The reason why the Drano was being stored in a child’s sippy cup inside an apartment where a child resides is because it’s a common component used in the manufacture of meth, and Florida.

Jonathan Wayne Glass  is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail without bond. He’s been charged with one count of cruelty towards a child, abuse that causes great bodily harm or disability, three counts of possession of a harmful drug without a prescription, four counts of drug possession without a prescription, one count of opium or derivative trafficking and one count of possessing or using drug equipment.…

Parents Charged After Cockroaches Are Found In Childs EarBeverly Hills, FL -  Robert and Christina Forbes are currently in jail on charges of child abuse after the school nurse found a cockroach in the boy’s ear.

But that’s not all.  The cockroach in the ear incident happened way back in September.  The neglect was observed by the boy’s school over and over again during the school year.  The 9 year old boy regularly showed up to school reeking of cat urine, wearing the same Pull-ups and in need of medication.  Another time, cockroaches were seen crawling out of his backpack.

Robert, 33 and Christina, 32, denied their child needed medication, according to the school.  Their home was in “deplorable conditions” and they also denied their son sufficient food.  Teachers would give him food and clean him.  He is in alternative care now and his parents are in jail on $5,000 bond.

A 9 year old boy in Pull-ups?  In need of medication?  Nothing specifically states the boy was special needs, but those two clues have got to make one wonder.  The only thing to ruin your day faster than a story about an abused child is a story about an abused special needs child.  You’re welcome.…

Police were called to Byrd’s home by a neighbor who found the naked boy walking the streets and clearly drunk off his ass. The neighbor said they went to Byrd’s home and found the 31-year-old passed out on the couch. They brought the boy back to their home and notified police.

“He couldn’t even stand. He was just, ahhh, you know. Naked, and I’m like, come in the house baby — and I went and got some of my son’s clothes,” the boy’s neighbor, Amanda Roesch said.

When police arrived at Byrd’s home, they also saw her sleeping on the couch with a man sitting near her looking at his phone. When police asked the man if they knew where the 10-year-old was, he stated he should be in his room. After checking and seeing that the boy was not there, he tried to wake Byrd.…

Mom Pleads Guilty To Pimping Out 6 Year Old Daughter To Homeless MenJacksonville, FL — Last year we reported on 35-year-old Dalina Nicholas, the woman accused of repeatedly pimping her six-year-old daughter out to homeless men in exchange for cash and crack. The other day she pleaded guilty to four counts of child neglect.

For those of you who missed the original story, police were flagged down by a homeless man who reported witnessing Nicholas’ daughter being sexually assaulted while he was in her home doing drugs. He said that over a two year period, he had witnessed the girl being sexually abused by other men, including a time when Nicholas accepted $20 from a man and then instructed her daughter to get naked so the man could perform oral sex on her.

He finally decided to do something about it after the girl confided to him what was happening to her and asked him to help her make it stop. The investigation that followed would lead to the arrest of Nicholas, who had fled to Georgia, and four men. Quinn Brooks, 57, and Ryan Harrover, were charged with sexual battery and lewd or lascivious molestation while John Hagans, 48, and Norman Thompson, 52, were charged with sexual battery.…

Dad Arrested After Naked Child Locked Outside, Another Locked In Dog CageTulsa, OK — A man in Oklahoma was arrested and charged with child neglect in what Tulsa police call one of the worse cases of child abuse they have ever seen.

Police were called to the home of 47-year-old William Lewallen by a neighbor who had found a 4-year-old boy naked and locked outside in 40 degree weather.  Inside the residence, the officers also discovered a 16-month-old girl covered in feces and locked inside a dog crate. A third naked child was found in bed with their passed out father.

Mr. Lewallen’s neighbors told investigators they heard a child crying Sunday night and went to investigate. The two men walked through a wooded area behind Lewallen’s home and discovered someone had thrown out a perfectly good white boy. According to the neighbor, they saw a naked 4-year-old boy in Lewallen’s backyard crying, “Daddy, let me in!  I’m cold!”

The men gave the boy a jacket and knocked on Lewallen’s door but, when no one answered, one of the men took the boy home and called police. ”When officers arrived, they spoke with the neighbor and investigated further,” said Officer Leland Ashley of Tulsa PD.  “As they approached the house, they could hear screaming and crying coming from inside.”

When officers looked through a small window, they saw a naked toddler locked inside a metal dog crate.  With nobody answering the door, they broke into the home and were “immediately hit with the overwhelming stench of feces,” according to Officer Ashley.  Police removed the 16-month-old girl from her cage and discovered she was partly responsible for the smell,as she was covered in her own filth.…

Facial Reconstructions Begin For Child Mauled By Pet RaccoonFruitport, MI - The adoptive family of 10-year-old Charlotte Ponce has announced that she will begin facial reconstruction surgery to correct the disfigurement she suffered in 2002 when her parents left her unattended with their pet raccoon.

When Charlotte was 3-months-old, her parents used the same wisdom that led to their having a pet raccoon in the first place to decide to leave Charlotte unattended with it. The raccoon – being a member of a species genetically linked to the three-headed dog that stands guard at the gates of Hades – promptly ate important parts of the girl’s face. As is common with children, the damage that was done could not be immediately repaired.

I do not know much about her parents. …beyond their not having an IQ above salad. I do know that, thankfully, Charlotte’s care was taken over by an aunt and uncle after her parent’s parental rights were severed in 2005.

Charlotte – who can be seen recently here – has lived disfigured for 10 years. She will now begin surgery to repair her disfigurement.…

Teen Mom Ditches Infant At Walmart After Botched Shoplifting AttemptOcala, FL – A Florida “mother” has been arrested after she ditched her 1-year-old son at a Walmart following a botched shoplifting attempt.

Police say 19-year-old Allison Niemeyer and her sister, 22-year-old Laura Niemeyer, stuffed approximately $60 worth of merchandise inside her son’s diaper bag as they perused the aisles of a Walmart on Friday. As they headed out the door with their loot, a loss prevention officer instructed them to come back inside.

Allison had some brain cells fire up behind that stupid looking face of hers, all three of them instructing her to run like hell and to leave her sister behind with her son. Laura eventually broke free from store employees and followed her sister to a van that had been waiting for them in the parking lot. The van sped off with the sisters, leaving behind the 1-year-old boy and the stolen merchandise.

The next night police would receive a tip that the sisters where driving a silver Dodge Durango and were currently enjoying themselves in a dance club.…

Couple Accused Of Locking 12 Year Old In Basement For A MonthMIDDLETOWN, OH –  I’m always hyping that people should not let D’D skew their worldview as we only post the worst of the worst and are, admittedly, fear-mongers of the highest order. But Jesus Christ, why does it always seem that whenever we feature abusive parents, they always look like villains in a horror movie?

We just posted an update on Diana and Samuel Franklin, the couple accused of making their adoptive daughter live in a chicken coop while wearing a shock collar, and now we have Shawn and Joanna Blackston, both accused of making their 12-year-old daughter live in a cage in the basement. Both couples look creepy as hell, but if I saw the Blackstons on the street, I’d chase them away with a baseball bat and a crucifix.

Police were alerted to the Blackstons after an anonymous person called them to report the possible abuse of one of their six children. When children services staff members made a surprise visit to the home and inquired about the 12-year-old girl, Shawn led them into the basement after unlocking several locks to the basement door.…

Mother Charged With Homicide After Her Four Children Die In A FireRAYNE, La. - Police have charged 26-year-old Shaqueta McDade with homicide after her four children died in a mobile home fire Saturday night.

According to 26-year-old Shaqueta McDade’s neighbors, she had a bad habit of leaving her five young children home alone. One neighbor described finding McDade’s 2-year-old wandering the streets at midnight last month and calling police.

Another neighbor said that McDade’s left her kids alone inside their mobile home last Friday night, prompting them to call police as well. The kids were removed from the home, but returned to McDade the next day. That night, McDade once again left  her children home alone.

This time the end result would be far more tragic than a simple call to police and yet another opportunity for McDade to leave her kids unsupervised. That night, a fire broke out in the living room of the home and soon the entire trailer was engulfed in flames.

Neighbors tried to get McDade’s children out of the trailer, but were driven back from the intense heat. Jamari McDade, 8; Amous Mouton Jr., 7; LaShay McDade, 5, and Brian Steiner, 2, would all perish in the fire.…

Police found out about her alleged activity after a homeless man doing drugs in her home witnessed Nicholas’ daughter being sexually assaulted and then flagged down police. An investigation was launched and after interviewing the victim, who described being raped by three men and being physical abused, warrants were issued for her mother and three other men.

Two of the three men accused of raping the little girl, 56-year-old Quinn Brooks and 47-year-old John Hagans, who is homeless, were arrested on the sexual assault charges. Police are still looking for 51-year-old Norman Thompson. Police were not able to arrest Dalina Nicholas as she had already fled the state.
