Ex councilman Charles Wingate Cited For Neglect After Autistic Teen Found Living In Filth.Colorado Springs, CO – A former Colorado Springs city councilman and his wife have been cited with child neglect after officers responding to a welfare call discovered a naked 13-year-old with autism living in deplorable conditions.

Charles Wingate and his wife, Sharon Starkey, were not home at the time police responded to the call by a concerned neighbor. But the boy wasn’t completely alone in the home, as police found him amongst a savory assortment of both live and dead rodents, as well as scattered feces.  The condition of the home was so bad, code enforcement was sent out immediately and condemned the house as unsafe for living.

It’s unclear what prompted the neighbor to call authorities, especially since neighbors said they hadn’t seen the boy outside of the home in years.  Here comes the real sad part:  “The boy stated he is an only child, home-schooled, and does not remember ever being outside the house,” local police stated in a news release. It’s not conveyed in the source whether the child is the biological progeny of one or both of these two fine human beings.…

Unique Gould Charged With Manslaughter In Beating Death Of Her Toddler Nashuah, NH – The 2-year-old boy who suffered a head injury two weeks ago has died and now his mother, 21-year-old Unique Gould, is facing manslaughter charges.

Prosecutors say that on April 25, Unique used her hand to repeatedly hit Devon on the head, face, and buttocks.  ”Gould made admissions that she ‘blacked out’ at one point, and admitted to hitting (him) very hard,” said Detective Marc Anderson.

Following the beating, Devon became unresponsive and slept for 18 to 20 hours. Being the brilliant woman she is, she tried to rouse Devon by shaking him and placing him in the shower. Gold only called 911 after family members and roommates threatened to do so themselves if she didn’t.

Devon was rushed to a Massachusetts hospital where it was determined he had a catastrophic brain injury and was suffering from inter-cranial bleeding. Unique was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.

Those charges would be upgraded to manslaughter on Monday after Devon passed away upon removal from life support last week. As of this time, no explanation has been provided as to why she did this, not that there could possibly be a reason that would justify the unthinkable violence she inflicted on her son.…

Barbara Garcia Charged With Child Abuse After Neighbor Records Her Beating ChildWATSONVILLE, CA – Police have arrested 18-year-old Barbara Garcia on suspicion of child abuse after police obtained cell phone video of her hitting her boyfriend’s 15-month-old girl.

While her boyfriend is at work, Garcia takes care of the man’s daughter from a previous relationship. Police were called to the couple’s home Thursday afternoon after a neighbor called to report hearing a woman hitting a child.

When police arrived, they found the girl unresponsive with bruises around her eyes. She was taken to a hospital with a traumatic head injury. During their investigation, they were shown a video taken by another neighbor showing Garcia striking the 15-month-old on Wednesday.

“The previous day, a neighbor heard the child crying and the sound of a disturbance coming from the residence and went to investigate. Through an open window, a neighbor saw and took video from their cell phone,” said police in a statement.

The video shows Garcia seated on the floor when, “Without provocation, Garcia violently swung her hand and slapped the child on the head, knocking the child off her feet as she flew several feet away and lay motionless on the ground,” Watsonville police Sgt.…

Allen Banyacksi Charged With Child Abuse After Slapping Sons Alleged BullyCASSELBERRY, FL — Allen Banyacksi is facing child abuse charges after he allegedly slapped one of his son’s bullies and spit in his face.

Banyacksi would not comment on the charges against him, but did go on camera to say that his son is being incessantly bullied at Helm Way West and that he feels helpless.

“I feel horrible that I can’t do more. That I can’t be at school every day to watch over him. To walk him through the hallways,” Banyacksi said. ”I have four kids and he’s my youngest. He’s my baby. And we’ve watched him get bullied since the 4th grade. And when does it stop?”

According to a police report, Banyacksi confronted the two kids who were bullying his son as they walked home from school last Thursday. The boys told police Banyacksi pulled up along side them in his car and threatened to kill them.

One of the boys responded to Banyacksi’s threats by giving him the middle finger. Banyacksi allegedly responded by spitting in the boy’s face. When the boy spit back, Banyacksi gave him five across the eyes before getting back into his car and driving home.…

Carl Cottee Jr. Has Been Accused Of Beating His Girlfriends 4 Year Old To DeathNewport News, VA - Carl Cottee Jr., 23,  has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend’s 4-year-old daughter, according to police.

Police were called to a home where Cottee had been caring for Madyson Van Cleave Hook while her mother was out. There they found the girl in a bedroom not breathing and showing signs of  trauma to her body, according to police spokesperson Holly McPherson.

The child was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead from blunt head trauma. Madyson’s grandmother was initially told the girl’s death was an accident, and that Madyson got dizzy after taking a bath, passed out and then hit her head.

But that does not explain the bruises and multiple skull fractures the family would later learn the girl had suffered. ”It’s horrible I just can’t imagine her going through that pain,” her grandmother said. “I can hear her saying, ‘I love my Nan Nan.’”

Want to hear something infuriating? Madyson’s grandmother also said there was suspicion the girl was being abused after Madyson complained of being locked in a dresser and being left alone.…

Chelsea Huggett Killed 2 Year Old Daughter By Smashing Her Head Into WallLecanto, FL – Chelsea Huggett, 21, is behind bars after police say she confessed to getting so angry at her 2-year-old’s “whining” that she slammed the girl’s head into a wall, killing her.

Police were called to Huggett’s home on April 26, where her daughter, 2-year-old Aliyah Marie Branum, was found not breathing and unresponsive. Huggett initially blamed her boyfriend for the child’s condition, saying that her daughter had ingested bug spray he had spilled.

Aliyah was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. What the medical staff found did not back up Huggett’s bug spray story, however. Not by a long shot.

Aliyah had bruises all over her body, including her face, head, arms, legs, back, shoulders, and vaginal area. One eye was swollen shut, blood was coming out of mouth and nose, and yellow fluid was coming from both ears.

The medical examiner would find Aliyah suffered a frontal skull fracture above the right eye, and hemorrhaging over her entire brain area. He would state the cause of death as blunt force trauma, and rule Aliyah’s death a homicide.…

Deaf Couple Accused Of Beating Their Baby To Death For CryingRichardson, TX - Police have arrested Hector Cupich-Quinones, 35, and Maria Zuniga, 37, after the couple allegedly beat their crying 5-month-old girl to death over the weekend.

Authorities were called to the couple’s home about 5:30 a.m. Sunday after the couple, who are deaf and cannot speak, woke up to find their daughter was having problems breathing. The responding officer performed CPR on the baby and noticed suspicious bruises on the infant.

After the child was taken to the hospital, she was pronounced dead about 10 p.m. Hospital staff told police they suspected abuse after discovering bruises on the baby’s chest, back and both arms. She had also suffered massive trauma to the back of her head.

When investigators questioned the couple about their child’s injuries, they admitted they had beaten the child because they could not get her to stop crying. I know, they’re deaf. But supposedly, after drinking, Cupich-Quinones became angry over the vibrations being created by his daughter’s crying.

In an attempt to stop the vibrations, Cupich-Quinones shook the baby in an attempt to stop her from creating them.…

Herbert And Catherine Schaible Lose Second Baby To Faith Healing PHILADELPHIA, PA – Herbert and Catherine Schaible, a couple already serving 10 years’ probation for the 2009 death of their toddler after they turned to prayer instead of a doctor, has violated their probation now that a second child of theirs has died.

Herbert and Catherine Schaible lost their 8-month-old son, Brandon, last week after the child suffered from diarrhea and breathing problems. According to news reports, the toddler suffered for at least a week, and stopped eating. His parents belong to a fundamentalist Christian church that believes in faith healing. In 2009, another son, Kent, died after his parents chose to rely on prayer instead of medical care. 2-year-old Kent died from bacterial pneumonia, leading to the couple’s 2010 conviction for involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that a decision on charges will be made after they get the autopsy results. Catherine Schaible’s attorney, Mythri Jayaraman, cautioned against a rush to judgment, though, and said the couple are good parents deeply distraught over the loss of another child. After all, they’re 0-for-2 now.…

Aaron Ramsey Sentenced To Life In Prison For Starving His Son To DeathDallas, TX – Aaron Ramsey, the 35-year-old man who starved his 10-year-old son to death, has been found guilty by a Dallas County jury and was sentenced to life in prison.

If you don’t remember the death of Jonathan Ramsey, let me refresh your memory and quite possibly ruin your morning.

Back in 2011, police began looking into the disappearance of Jonathan Ramsey after the child’s grandfather contacted them, concerned that the boy had not been seen in almost a year.

Police questioned the boy’s father, Aaron Ramsey, and his 31-year-old stepmother, Elizabeth Ramsey. Eventually they would admit that the boy was dead and that Aaron had disposed of his body in an unknown location.

According to Elizabeth, she and Aaron began starving the Jonathan in March 2011 after the boy allegedly punched her in the stomach while she was pregnant with triplets, supposedly causing her to lose the babies.

That’s when Aaron locked Johnathan in a bedroom and only fed him bread, water, and occasionally milk. Jonathan went from 90-pounds to 60-pounds and, according to the affidavit, he was so hungry that he ate his own feces.…

Heather Hampton Accused Of Biting Child, Stepping On ToddlerConway, SC – Police have charged 35-year-old heather Hampton with unlawful neglect of a child after they say she was drunk when she got into a fight with her two sons and ended up biting one child while stepping on another.

According to police, Hampton was intoxicated Saturday night when she began arguing with an 11-year-old boy that got so heated that police were called to the home.

When police arrived, they found the 11-year-old was sporting visible injuries, including bite marks on his head, neck and face. A 2-year-old boy was also there and had a scratch on his shoulder and chin.

The older boy told police Hampton was responsible for his injuries and that she’d also knocked over and stepped on the toddler. Hampton, who police noted had the smell of alcohol on her breath, was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful neglect of a child.

The S.C. Department of Social Services arrived at the home and arranged a temporary place for the two boys to stay. As of Monday, Hampton was still in custody at the J Reuben Long Detention Center on a $20,000 bail.…

Jennifer Respicio, 14, Accused Of Murdering Her Infant SonDEL CITY, OK – Police have arrested 14-year-old Jennifer Respicio, accusing her of murdering her 7-month-old son.

Jaiden Respicio was taken by ambulance to OU Children’s Hospital Sunday morning where he was pronounced dead. Police say doctors told them the traumatic internal injuries Jaiden suffered were consistent with abuse.

When Jennifer Respicio was questioned by police, she admitted she was the one that caused the injuries to her son. She was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

Jaiden was actually in the custody of his grandmother, Jennifer’s mother, but she had to work on Sunday and left Jennifer to care for her son, along with her 15-year-old boyfriend. Police Capt. Jody Suit said the father of the boy is 15-years-old but is not believed to have been involved in the death.

None of the articles I read specified if the 15-year-old boy who was in the home when Jaiden was injured was also Jaiden’s father, but in any case, the only person police feel is responsible for the boy’s death is Jennifer.…

Two Accused Of Torturing Baby During Weekend Visit With FatherTULSA, OK – Anthonie Cotton and Terraisia Barnes are accused of severely abusing the father’s 6-month-old baby. The pair was booked into the Tulsa County jail early Tuesday, after the infant’s injuries were discovered by the child’s guardian. A 6-month-old-baby. With a guardian. You know where this one’s going already.

According to police, the baby had spent the weekend with his father, 21-year-old Anthonie Cotton, and Terraisia Barnes, his 18-year-old girlfriend. When the baby was returned to his guardian, however, it was discovered that the child had severe burns on his legs, waist, backside and genitals. There were also bruises on his back and legs.

Police say that Cotton’s girlfriend took pictures of the injuries and sent them to her mother, who told her to take the child to the doctor immediately. Instead, Barnes dressed the boy to cover the injuries and dropped him off at his guardian’s house several hours later. The child was rushed to Shriner’s Hospital after having seizures, according to the booking report. The child’s injuries were described as ‘extensive’ and required emergency treatment.…

Rony Veus Told Police He Abused Baby Because He Enjoyed Causing Her PainAPOPKA, FL – Police have charged 23-year-old Rony Veus with the murder of his 1-year-old daughter, saying that he admitted to abusing his daughter because he liked to cause her pain.

Police responding to a home after a 911 call about a girl who wasn’t breathing, found Veus performing CPR on his daughter. He told them he found her not breathing and unconscious.

The infant was rushed to the hospital where she remained in a coma with bleeding on the brain until Saturday when the girl died. Staff told investigators that they suspected the girl had been abused, so investigators interviewed Veus.

During this interview, Veus admitted he has thoughts of harming his daughter and feels relieved when he causes her pain or discomfort. He said he’s acted on these thoughts by pulling her hair, pushing her down, forcing her to eat cinnamon, and burning her with a cigar.

Veus also told police he suffers from depression and schizophrenia and he needs mental help. Veus’ mother said she never thought her son could abuse his daughter, but had suspected something was going on.…

Mother Accused Of Watching Boyfriend Smother Their Baby Before They Had SexChicago, IL – Angela Petrov and Rodrigo Rodriguez have been accused of suffocating their 5-month-old daughter, then placing her limp body in a playpen before having sex.

At around 11 a.m. Friday morning, the couple noticed their daughter, Angelina, was ‘stiff and unresponsive’ inside her playpen. They tried throwing water on the baby’s face and attempted CPR before calling 911. Angelina was taken to the hospital where she is currently on life support.

Doctors would discover that Angelina was suffering from brain swelling, a blown pupil due to a lack of oxygen, and a skull fracture from a past incident. She’s still alive, but currently has limited or no brain activity.

Police interviewed the couple and Rodriguez eventually admitted he and Petrov had been drinking Hennessy in the room where Angelina was sleeping. When the baby woke up and would not stop crying, Rodriguez admitted to employing a method that is fairly effective in getting an infant to stop crying. Or breathing. Or functioning at any level of intelligence higher than a potato.

He said he used his hand to cover Angelina’s mouth and nose until she stopped crying.…

Police Looking For Woman Caught On Video Tossing Baby To Passenger On BusHARTFORD, CT – We posted this video of a woman tossing her baby on our Facebook page the other day, but here’s the story behind it. Police are investigating an incident that took place on a Hartford bus, in which a woman got into an altercation with another passenger and, finding no takers for her, “Motherf#@king  baby,” simply threw the child to an unidentified passenger so she could get her groove on.

The incident was captured on cell phone video, and shows the irate mother engaged in a shouting match with another woman, located several seats away. As passengers watch, the verbal preliminaries grow increasingly heated (no darn, shucks or gollys here), after which the mother, apparently displeased over being disrespected, pitches her infant and heads up the aisle to lay the smackdown on said disrespecttor.

The fight took place on a Connecticut Transit bus at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to David Lee, general manager of Connecticut Transit. The driver , who did not witness the incident (and who must be deafer than Marlee Matlin), did not see the baby get thrown and eventually stopped the bus, which was nearing the end of its route from Albany Avenue to downtown Hartford.…

Rickesha Burns Accused Of Shoving A Vibrator Up Her 2 Year Old Sons AssPhoenix, AZ - Police have arrested 21-year-old Rickesha Burns after they say she shoved a vibrator so far up her 2-year-old son’s ass, surgery is now required to remove it.

Burns called police Sunday to report that she was at a park with her son, and while she was “looking at a text message for about 10 seconds,” a 12-year-old boy she didn’t know at the park did something to her son, causing him to bleed from his anus.

After being brought to the hospital, doctors found the boy had numerous bruises around his anus, a “hanger type” bruise on his hip, and yet another bruise on his neck.

But that was nothing. After further investigating, doctor’s found that someone had shoved “a vibrator or some other sex toy” up the boy’s rectum. It was so far up the poor kid’s ass, he will have to have surgery to get it out.

The bruises around around the boy’s anus appear to have been caused when someone used a hangar, or something similar, to try and pry the vibrator out of the kid’s rectum.…

Michael Lucero Accused Of Beating Girlfriends Toddler To DeathONTARIO, CA - An Ontario man is in custody, charged with beating his girlfriend’s two-and-a-half year-old son to death.

Police say Michael Lucero, 20, was booked into West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and formally charged with the child’s death.

A criminal complaint was filed by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office alleging Lucero committed abuse of the toddler that resulted in the boy’s death while the boy’s mother was at work.

According to court documents, the injured toddler was brought to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana after he lost consciousness at his home in the 1100 block of East Philadelphia Street Thursday shortly after midnight.

Police officers were called after hospital officials reported a child had been brought in with life-threatening injuries. After being evaluated, paramedics rushed the boy to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he died later that morning.

“This investigation is still ongoing,” said police spokesman Cpl. Bill Russell. “Detectives are trying to determine if there was a propensity for violence and if anyone else knew this was occurring.”

Police have said Lucero babysat his girlfriend’s child while she was working, and the boy’s mother hasn’t been labeled a suspect at this time.…

Emergency responders were called out to Green’s home on Tuesday where they found the woman’s two daughters, ages 1 and 4, unresponsive and not breathing.

They were rushed to  University of Kansas Medical Center where both were revived but are still critical condition and under police protective custody.

She’s being held in lieu of $1 million bail and scheduled to make a court appearance this afternoon. Her children are now in the custody of the state.

Laketha Moore Accused Of Starving, Beating Her 4 Year Old Daughter, Leaving Her Tied To BedLAS VEGAS, NV — Police have charged 36-year-old Laketha Moore with 31 counts of child abuse after her 4-year-old daughter was discovered tied to a bed, beaten and starved.

Had it not been for a Loma Vista Apartments maintenance worker, there’s no telling how long this little girl would have continued to suffer. He was performing a routine maintenance check inside Moore’s apartment on Monday and found a belt connecting the bathroom and bedroom doors.

When the worker went inside a bedroom, he found Moore’s starving 4-year-old daughter tied to a bed and surrounded by filth. She had multiple injuries, including a black eye, cuts on her nose, cheek, a bruised rib cage, back, ankles and matted hair. The girl said she was hungry because “Mommy ties me up all the time.”

When police located Moore she confessed to police that she abandoned her daughter regularly to go to work or church.

“Laketha Moore was allegedly leaving her daughter tied to a bed in her bedroom, and locked in there for hours, 10 to 12 hours a day, five to seven days a week,” North Las Vegas spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said.…

Gerardo Chavarria Sentenced For Killing Toddler By Pounding Boys Head Into Floor After Spilling His BeerKeizer, OR - Gerardo Chavarria, 24, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting he got angry with his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son for spilling his beer, and killed the boy by pounded his head into the floor.

In 2011, Chavarria took his girlfriend’s son, Sebastian Iturbetook, to the hospital claiming that he was watching the boy when Sebastian fell down the stairs leading to the basement. Sebastion was transferred to Oregon Health and Science University where he died of blunt force trauma to the head on Nov. 6, 2011.

A medical examination would later show that the boy’s injuries did not coincide with Chavarria’s explanation of events. Chavarria would change his story, saying he’d accidentally pushed the child with a child carrier, causing Sebastion to fall down the flight of stairs. This explanation still did not explain the boy’s injuries, and Chavarria was charged with murder.

Chavarria continued to proclaim his innocence, never admitting to willfully abusing the boy, or intentionally causing his death. But that changed on Tuesday, two weeks before he was to go to trial, when Chavarria waived his right to a trial and told the court what actually happened on the morning of Sebastion’s death.…
