Woman Accused Of Stealing Donations Meant For Girl Battling Cancer

BALTIMORE – If the accusations are true, Donna Rock is one sad individual worthy of every amount of scorn that is coming her way (if it hasn’t got there already) and then some. Rock lives in the same building as 5-year-old Serena Lambert and her family. Serena has been battling cancer for the last 18-months, having been diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma when she was 3. The treatment she will require is expensive, costing more than $1 million. The family will be responsible for 10 percent of that and explain that is why they were grateful when their neighbor offered to do a little fund-raising. But Serena’s mother is claiming that Donna Rock raised some money, possibly $2000, and then kept it. “Donna had my own friends walking around collecting money in buckets,” Becky Lambert said. It Was All A Lie!

Paducah, KY- Like many parents, it just kills me when my kids get sick. Every time, I wish I could whip out a magic wand and make their aches and pains disappear. I cannot even begin to imagine the enormous amount of helplessness some parents feel when they learn their child has a tragic illness and may die. The courage and strength it takes for them to somehow get through each day without breaking down amazes me. In January, Karen Clark informed a news crew at the Ronald McDonald House at Kosair Children’s Hospital that her 12-year old daughter was dying of cancer. “We’ve been here at least every month since last January,” said Karen Clark to the reporter. “It’s been a hard road but she’s making it.
