5 Illinois Family Members Found Beaten To Death

Beason, Illinois – I wasn’t going to post this as everyone is already covering it and we already had an asshole who killed his family this week. But since they have not arrested anyone and are still asking for tips, what the hell. Raymond “Rick” Gee, 46, his wife, Ruth Gee, 39, and three of their children, Justina Constant, 16, Dillen Constant, 14, and Austin Gee, 11, were found dead Monday afternoon in their home. 3-year-old Tabitha Gee, remains in critical but stable condition at a Peoria hospital. Coroner reports state that they were all beaten to death. Police are interested in a primer/gray Chevrolet S-10 or Ford Ranger-type of pickup that was seen in the area. Some AP video and timeline after the jump. [Read more...]

Ethan Windom Murdered His Mother; Gets Fixed Life

Ethan Windom Murdered His Mother; Gets Fixed Life

BOISE, Idaho — Ethan Windom, 17, killed his mother, Judy Windom, 42, on Jan. 25, 2007. The Borah High School student killed her while she slept in her bed. The special education teacher at Eagle High School was beaten and stabbed to death. Judge Copsey sentenced Ethan to life with no possibility of parole, a sentence she has only handed out once before in her career. The reasoning for this come from the statements made by Ethan himself.

Ethan told investigators that the murder was “No problem at all.” Ethan used a weight to repeatedly hit his sleeping mother in the head, “until she stopped making noise.” He then took a knife and stabbed her in the heart and other locations. He then took a second knife and stabbed her in the brain, leaving the knife in her head. When asked why he killed his mother, Ethan explained it was just because she was the closest person. He stated that he, “was thinking about going downtown and stabbing a couple of worthless bums, they’re just fucking bums.

Judge Copsey explained her decision. “I cannot gamble that Ethan Windom will be compliant,” Copsey said. “Fixed life is one of the harshest sentences that we can hand down, and is reserved only for those offenses that are so egregious that they deserve an appropriate amount of retribution.” Ethan showed no emotion as the sentence was read.

Held off on this one, as I wasn’t sure where it was headed. But since this is now a homicide investigation, I figured we should get this posted.

HORSE SHOE — Bob Bryant alerted authorities that his parents Irene, 84, and John, 79, had not come back from a hiking trip in the Pisgah National Forest. Crews worked for three days before finding the body of Irene Bryant, 84, partially covered by leaves about 25 yards from their vehicle. A medical examiner later found Bryant had been killed from blunt force trauma to the head. The couple’s bank card had been used to withdraw $300 from an ATM in Ducktown, Tenn and photos taken from bank surveillance cameras show a person wearing a yellow rain jacket withdrawing money at 7:35 p.m. The hood of the rain jacket obscures the person’s identity. Initially thought to be a missing hikers case, the search efforts first used dogs that are not trained to search for dead bodies. Because of the three-week lag to the massive search area and the two-state crime scene authorties haven’t had any luck in the case.

Here is the timeline of events so far: [Read more...]

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Patricia Lopez, a timid 9-year-old, went missing after class on June 3, 1987. WitnessesWitnesses reviewsWitnesses reviews said that they saw a stocky Latino in his 30s with a thick mustache walking with the girl along the Santa Ana River after school that day. After searching for the girl for two days, her body was discovered by children playing near the riverbed. Patricia had been bludgeoned to death. After focusing attention on several different suspects, the case eventually went cold until the city's newly established cold-case unit discovered a DNA link to the older brother, Resendo Lopez, now 42. Investigators are not stating anything about the new DNA link or how or when they got the break, but they had never suspected any of the members of the large, close-knit family until then.

On Thursday, Resendo Lopez voluntarily responded to [Read more...]
