On January 26, Iris Hernandez Rivas called 911 and said she found her daughter face-down in the bathtub, “unresponsive with her hands clenched at her side.”
When first responders arrived at her apartment, Hernandez Rivas reportedly told them her daughter had been in the shower for 15 to 20 minutes when a noise from the bathroom prompted her to check on her child.
After finding her daughter face-down in the tub, she took her out and put her on the bedroom floor. She then called her boyfriend and her brother for help before calling 911 an hour after finding her daughter.
Paramedics took the child to the hospital in serious condition where medical staff found “reddish bruising on multiple regions of her body,” an injury to her brain, a “small liver contusion” and “patterned injuries that are the result of blunt force trauma with an object.”
When confronted about the injuries, Hernandez Rivas admitted she kicked the child in the stomach because she was angry that she wouldn’t brush her teeth.…
A man called police to report he had come home to find his autistic son, 21-year-old Alex Santiago, dead in the living room, and his younger son watching television in the master bedroom.
When police arrived at the home, they found the autistic boy dead in the living room near a bloody baseball bat. He had suffered massive head trauma and had a sword sticking out of his gut.
Police found the victim’s 17-year-old brother in a bedroom watching television. He was cooperative with police and readily admitted he had attacked and killed his brother with the bat and sword. He said that afterwards he took a shower, changed clothes, and started watching TV.
Not done with all the confessing, the teen also admitted he had tried to kill his brother the year before by setting the family mobile home on fire. He stated he had locked his brother in his room and then poured gasoline on the floor of his room and his parents’ room, then set it on fire.…
On Monday night at around 9pm, Mingming Chen called police to report her 5-year-old daughter, Ashley Zhao, was missing.
She told police that she last saw her daughter hours earlier and felt she had wondered out of Ang’s Asian Cuisine, the restaurant her family operates.
Police and locals began a search for Ashley, and an endangered child alert was issued. These were called off when Ashley’s body was discovered found “deceased and concealed” inside the family’s restaurant.
It was then that investigators learned the truth about what happened to the girl.
According to police, Chen repeatedly punched her daughter in the head for reasons unknown at this time. The girl’s father, Liang Zhao, found his daughter on the ground with a green liquid coming from her mouth.
When he tried washing off the liquid, he noticed she was no longer breathing and attempted CPR, but was unable to save Ashley.…
It happened on Sunday when the boys’ teenage sister came home and found them injured and crying. When she asked what happened, they informed her that their mother, 36-year-old Sascha Collins, had beat the crap out of them.
The reason for the beating? The boys, ages 7 and 9, had apparently opened their Christmas presents early after finding them stashed in their mother’s closet. The boys’ sister got them out of the house and called police.
The boys told responding officers that Collins hit them with a belt buckle, threw them against a wall and bit one of them. Police noted that both boys were suffering injuries that corroborated their story.
The sister told police that her mother was an alcoholic who snorts Hydrocodone. She also added that when her mother gets mad that she repeatedly calls one of the boys, who is mentally disabled, retarded.…
Police responded to a residence on a domestic disturbance call last month to find 69-year-old Joyce Courson sitting in the hallway in a puddle of blood.
She was suffering from severe cuts and bruises to her face and more on her stomach and chest.
Courson told the officers that her grandson, Brougham, had flew into a rage because she’d taken his beer and wouldn’t tell him where she hid it.
She said he first punched several holes in the walls before shoving her to the floor. That’s when Brougham held her down and repeatedly punched her in the face, then started kicking her.
Another roommate in the house ran out of his room to investigate when he heard the woman yelling for help, but Brougham had already left the home.
Police would find the teen walking near the home and took him into custody. He told police that when he gets upset, “he blacks out in rage and does not remember what he does.”
Initially charged with aggravated battery, Brougham has now been charged with murder after Courson died from her injuries one week later.…
The boy was found Sunday morning, running down the street in a dirty diaper. He told authorities that his mother and her boyfriend forced him to live in a closet, beat him regularly, and fed him only protein shakes and cans of okra.
Prosecutors say the boy claimed to have been beaten with an extension cord, a pole, and a baseball bat. Even more disturbing is the boy’s claims that he was once forced to sit on the stove as his genitals were burned with a curling iron.
These allegations were later backed up by a court-appointed doctor who examined the boy and said that the he had the most injuries he had ever seen on one person. The boy and his 2-year-old sister are now in state custody.
Woods was arrested and charged with assault. She was denied bail by the judge who called her actions “depraved” and told Woods she was “a danger to society.” Police are still looking for her boyfriend.…
RAPID CITY, SD – The grandmother of a 2-year-old boy who was allegedly killed by his mother due to potty-training issues, has been arrested and charged with helping her daughter cover up the boy’s beating death.
For those of you who may have missed this story earlier this year, 28-year-old Katrina Shangreaux allegedly beat her son to death after he had an accident while potty training at his grandmother’s house.
According to court documents the toddler had “multiple bruises on his body, some appeared older and some new. He also had multiple bite marks on his body and what appeared to be marks from a belt.”
Even more disturbing was the fact that the boy’s scrotum was torn and there was hair wrapped around his genitals.
Shangreaux would eventually be charged with murder and child abuse; charges she has since pleaded not guilty to. Now federal authorities have arrested Shangreaux’s mother, 47-year-old Sonya Dubray, accusing her of covering up the crime.
She allegedly washed Kylen’s clothes, cleaned up the crime scene, and lied about alleged abuse against the boy, and told authorities Kylen was already potty-trained.…
When a relative was unable to contact Edward Coles Jr, 58, and his wife, 55-year-old Rosemarie, they went to the couple’s home where they found them both dead inside.
Police said that Ryan lived with his parents and beat them to death with his hands and possibly a chair. They also said he was in the house when they arrived. He was calm, they said, and told them his parents were sick.
Autopsies would later determine the couple died from blunt head trauma. Ryan was taken to a hospital for evaluation before being transported to jail on murder and weapons charges. His bail has been set at $1 million.
Neighbors and police say that police often visited the home and that Ryan could often be seen sitting on the stoop talking to himself.
“He seemed a little detached, depressed,” neighbor John Ferencsik told the station. “We didn’t really know that, just know the impression I had was he was a little bit off.”
He also made some odd posts to his Facebook profile, including one in 2015 that read:
“Energy is both created and destroyed.…
According to reports, Shannon Vincel was battling breast cancer and had already undergone a double mastectomy.
On Monday night she was waiting for a hospital shuttle bus to take her and another patient to a nearby treatment center.
That’s when a man approached Vincel and proceeded to beat her with a blunt object. Vincel sustained “severe head trauma” and was taken to a hospital, where she died the next day.
“She was just sitting there waiting for the shuttle to pick her up and take her to treatment,” Vincel’s mother said. “Why would anyone just walk up and beat a girl from behind without warning and just beat her to death? Why?”
Vincel was not robbed, according to her family, and police have not found a suspect or a motive behind the killing. The Cancer Treatment Centers of America is offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who has information about the beating.…
On Saturday, Morris was babysitting 4-month-old Emersyn Morris while his girlfriend, Jenny Anderson, was at work.
Anderson tried to contact Morris multiple times throughout the day but no one would hear from Morris until almost 5 pm when he called Anderson and his mother.
Morris told them both that he was going to jail because he had done something to the baby. They both told him to call 911.
When paramedics arrived at the home, Emersyn was unconscious and Morris was covered in blood and had a swollen hand. Emersyn was rushed to the hospital where she died from blunt force trauma.
Morris told police that he had been watching television when his daughter started making noises. He said he took the girl out of her swing, carried her into her bedroom and placed her on a changing table.
When Emersyn continued making noises, he attempted to quiet her by punching her approximately 15 times in the face and 7 times in the chest with a closed fist. …
The couple called 911 on August 1 to report Kamonie was making a “loud gurgling noise” and that when they checked on her they found her unresponsive. The girl’s mother, Shavone Whitehead, performed CPR on her daughter until paramedics arrived.
Kamonie was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital, where doctors would find the baby suffering from injuries to her legs, buttocks, chin and arms, multiple rib fractures and a possible skull fracture.
Sadly, after being on life support for the last two weeks, Kamonie was pronounced dead Saturday night.
When police questioned Whitehead about the girl’s injuries, she initially denied she was responsible, but later admitted the couple would beat her baby with a belt to punish her.
Just how bad could this baby have been? With the injuries she suffered its like she routinely set the house on fire, stole the family car for drug-fueled parties in downtown Atlanta, and was dealing crack to the neighbors from her crib.…
Steele has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child after she went to a cellphone store to have her phone repaired, leaving her 6 and 3-year-old son alone inside her minivan with their 13-day-old sister.
When the baby girl started crying, her older brother killed her by beating the ever-living crap out of her. But before I get into those details, let’s discuss the events that lead up to them. Besides, I’m sure some of you have already asked yourselves why a 62-year-old woman has a newborn.
Back in 2009, Steele and her late husband, Philip, was featured on the reality show I’m Pregnant and 55 Years Old. She explained that she worked as a broker, putting in 60-80 hours a week, when she met her husband in her 40s.
The couple tried for 12 years to conceive a child via vitro fertilization, and Steele finally became pregnant in 2009 at the age of 55.…
A delivery driver found the bodies of 17-year-old Natalie Henderson and 17-year-old Carter Davis behind the King Plaza shopping center at around 6 a.m. Monday. Police believe their bodies had been there since between 2 and 3 a.m.
Police say they found vehicles behind the Publix, but are not sure if they belong to the teenagers. Investigators are looking at surveillance video from nearby businesses in hopes of finding potential suspects and a motive.
Investigators say the teens knew each other and do not believe a drug transaction was involved. They have not said why the teenagers met behind the store in the early morning hours. Of course I don’t know either, but I have a very educated guess.
Davis was about to begin his senior year at River Ridge High School where he played on the school’s football and lacrosse teams.…
Police said that on Tuesday morning they received reports of a disturbance at a home where a woman found her daughter, Ashley Wood, dead inside her bedroom.
A neighbor said she called 911 after she heard the mother screaming. When police arrived, they found Ashley dead from what appeared to be blunt force trauma to the head.
The suspect, reportedly the girl’s 14-year-old brother or step-brother, was at the home when police arrived but fled the scene on foot.
Police would find him 30 minutes later in a field a mile away. The teen, whose name has not been released because of his age, was taken into custody and placed in the Placer County Probation Juvenile Detention Facility.
No charges have been filed as I type this up, but in California, a 14-year-old can be charged as an adult in murder cases.
The relationship between the suspect and victim has not been officially reported, but some news outlets describe him as Ashley’s brother or adopted brother.…
Police responded to the home of 30-year-old Bernice White after receiving a 911 call connected to a fight between White and her adult sister.
When police arrived, they found White’s sister had a broken arm caused by White hitting her with a 1×4 piece of lumber. While searching the home, police also found White’s son with a bandaged hand and swelling, bruising and redness to his right upper thigh and left forearm.
After White’s son was transported to the hospital, doctors discovered the boy was suffering from several broken fingers and a fractured foot. Investigators say the injuries were a result of White beating the boy with the same piece of wood she used to break her sister’s arm.
According to the affadavit, White had returned home from work and turned all Mommy Dearest when she found the apartment had not been cleaned to her specifications.…
According to reports, Sebastian Alonzo was spending the night at a home where the 7-year-old lived. At some point, the victim’s father caught Alonzo attempting to rape his daughter.
The father called police while also detaining Alonzo until they arrived. Alonzo was charged with attempted rape of a child and being held in jail on a $250,000 bond. He is due in court on June 22.
Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to call the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-573-5400.
All things considered, Alonzo got off lucky. The last guy we reported on who got caught raping a child was turned into a monster from a Guillermo del Toro movie by the victim’s father. Also, in 2012, a father caught a man raping his 4-year-old daughter and proceeded to beat him to death with his bare hands.
Police responding to a distress call at the home of Cheryl Lynch and her son, 38-year-old Christopher Lynch, early Sunday morning.
As deputies approached the home, they could hear loud yelling and the sounds of a person in distress.
They were approached by Christopher, who was covered in blood and wielding an iron rod with a hook on one end of it.
“You want some?” Christopher reportedly asked the officers before striking their patrol car with the iron rod. After refusing to comply to verbal commands, police shot Christopher multiple times with a stun gun.
This caused him to drop the iron rod, but Christopher began trying to kick and punch the officers. With the help of other deputies who arrived on the scene, police were finally able to get Christopher in leg irons and handcuffs.
On the front porch of the home police would find Christopher’s mother.…
The more details that come out about this case, the more messed up it gets. As usual with these child abuse stories, if I am writing it up, then you know it’s a bad one.
On March 17, medical crews responded to a 911 call regarding an unresponsive child. When they arrived at the home they found 3-year-old Bethannie Johnson lying in the middle of the living room floor unresponsive.
Police and paramedics noted Bethannie was severely bruised on her head, abdomen and legs. She also had dried blood in her airway that was indicative of past injuries.
Paramedics managed to get the girl breathing again, but she would be pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. An autopsy found she had multiple internal and external head injuries and concluded she died of blunt force trauma.
When questioned by detectives, Gosset said she was Bethannie’s legal guardian and that she stays at the address because she provides child care for the person who lives there.…
