Babysitter’s Two Pit Bulls Mauled 14-Month-Old Dax Borchardt To Death

Walworth, WI - On Wednesday, 14-month-old Dax Borchardt was mauled to death by his babysitter’s two pit bulls.
Police received a call from Borchardt’s babysitter, 30-year-old Susan Iwicki, stating she and the boy were being attacked by her two pit bulls.
Borchardt was taken to Mercy-Walworth Medical Center before being airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin where he died from critical injuries at about 3:30pm.
Iwicki was also injured in the attack, but as of Thursday morning, her condition is unknown. The two dogs were later euthanized by a local veterinarian.
No word on if charges will be filed, but Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Captain Dana Nigbor said that ”unless something drastically changes,” this will not be a criminal case.
Borchardt’s father expressed his anger on his Facebook page, stating “these pitbulls was not abused, mistreated, or harmed in ANY way” and that he “will do everything in my power to make sure this breed is bred out of existence.”
I feel bad for the guy. Not only losing a son, but losing him in such a violent way.…

Mexico City - Two-year-old Axel Charrette was killed in Sayulita, Mexico while on vacation with his family at a vacation home they were renting, and now his 16-year-old babysitter and her boyfriend have been charged with his murder.
In a statement released to The Watch, Jen and Randy Charrette stated they had hired a 16-year-old girl to help around their vacation home. On February 28, the girl was babysitting their two boys when she let her 17-year-old inside the home.
Realizing that her boyfriend was in a violent, drug-crazed state, she locked herself in a bathroom and left Axel outside the home and his older brother in another part of the house. For reasons unknown at this time, the boyfriend hurt Axel and then tossed him into a pool where he drowned.
They go on to say that the teen and her boyfriend have been arrested and charged with murder in Mexico City. They were also told by a source in the US State Department that the case is ‘Mexico’s number one priority right now.’
The Charrettes concluded the statement with, “There are no words to express our grief – but we wanted you to know what happened because the truth, as horrible as it may be, is important.…

Philadelphia, PA - Back in 2010, Jaded reported on 36-year-old Aaron Pace, the man accused of using drain cleaner to kill a crying toddler. On Wednesday, Pace pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and was sentenced to 17.5 to 35 years in prison.
Back in February 2010, police were called to a home where they found 20-month-old Suliaman Orrell Kirkland suffering from chemical burns on the upper part of his body. The boy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but would die five days later.
The boy’s babysitter, Aaron Pace, admitted he got angry when the toddler became cranky and uncooperative during bath-time, so he grabbed a container of drain-cleaning crystals and then rubbed the caustic substance into the boy’s skin with a rag.
Those who were first on the scene that day, and hospital workers who tried to save the boy’s life, say that Kirkland’s death still effects them to this day.
“In 14 years with the Fire Department, I’ve seen a lot of death and injured children, but this case is the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen,” paramedic Colleen Stankiewicz said. Police Officer Judith Kinniry said she’s haunted by the sight of Kirkland in the emergency room with burns to 20% of his body, stating that the boy’s body was trembling while his skin was sloughing off.…

NORTH HAMPTON, MA -- A 27-year-old woman in Massachusetts has been charged with multiple counts of child rape after being accused have having sexual relations with her friend’s 13-year-old son.
Amanda Wilson has been charged with four counts of aggravated rape of a child after prosecutors say she had sex with the boy at his house while his mother was away and while she was caring for him when his family went out of town.
No word on how she got busted, but the boy told investigators that Wilson had showed him and another boy pornography on her laptop and would threaten to kill herself if anyone found out about the two having sex. Court documents reveal Wilson admitted to the rapes, citing “daddy issues.” o_O
Despite her admission, she pleaded not guilty to the charges while in court on Wednesday. She was supposed to appear on November 14, but didn’t show because authorities couldn’t find her to let her know. Naperville, Ill – A woman in Illinois has been charged with two counts of murder after she stabbed two children to death because voices told her it was the only way to save their souls.
I’ve collected the following details from a few news articles, but from what I can gather, 40-year-old Elzbieta Plackowska was babysitting 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski at her home, along with her her 8-year-old son, Justin Plackowska. At some point on Tuesday, Plackowska packed up the children and drove to a nearby church before driving to Olivia’s home. During this time, she argued on the phone with her husband because she had recently lost her father and wanted to return to her native Poland, but her husband wanted to stay here.
On top of all that, according to Plackowska, she was hearing demonic voices that were informing her that the children’s souls were in peril and that the only way to save them would be to volunteer at a nearby homeless shelter stab the children to death. Instead of disobeying the demonic voices, she stabbed Justin and Olivia to death, along with two dogs.…
Babysitter Accused Of Slamming Baby Pleads Not Guilty In Child’s Death

WAUKEGAN, IL — The Illinois woman accused of killing a 3-month-old baby, allegedly by violently slamming her down on a table, has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Sarah Gumm, 33, is facing life behind bars if she is convicted of the multiple murder and battery charges filed against her in connection to the death of Rylan “Turtle” Koopmeiners, the baby girl she’d been babysitting for six weeks.
On July 27, Rylan was rushed to the hospital after Gumm called 911 to report that Rylan was not breathing. She was pronounced shortly after arrival and an autopsy report would reveal that the girl had a skull fracture and cranial hemorrhaging.
Her cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma, the medical examiner noting a significant amount of force caused the fracture and that Rylan probably died within an hour of receiving the injuries.
Gumm would later admit to investigators that she had gotten angry after Rylan became fussy during a diaper change. “She admitted she put the baby down on a table such that the baby’s head hit the table,” Lake County assistant State’s Attorney Ari Fisz said.…

MANALAPAN, NJ – This past January, we reported on 32-year-old Jennifer Mahoney, the woman accused of streaming the sexual abuse of a 5-year-old girl live on Skype.
She has now pleaded guilty to the charges and will face anywhere between 15 to 30 years in prison when she is sentenced in August.
For those of you who do did not catch this original story, Mahoney was charged with two federal counts of the sexual exploitation of a child after police retrieved three videos of Mahoney molesting a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting from the computer of Robert Ramos Jr. , who lives in Texas.
Two of the videos were Skype sessions that show Mahoney talking to someone online while wearing a lace top with her breasts exposed. She is kneeling at the foot of a bed performing oral sex on the sleeping child who is lying on her stomach with her buttocks exposed. At some points in the videos, Mahoney can be seen masturbating or laughing.
The other video was recorded with an iPhone and shows Mahoney giving the girl a bath and asking her to bend over so she can rinse her off.…

Nashville, TN — A 39-year-old babysitter accused of breaking off a 3-4 inch hairbrush handle in her young charge’s ass had one hell of an explanation for police — she was simply trying to relieve the poor tot of his constipation.
According to police, Becky Burlison was arrested on charges of aggravated child rape and felony child abuse earlier this month, after allegedly violating the 2-year-old tot’s poop chute with the handle…. twice. It was during the second insertion that the handle broke off and became lodged inside the boy’s body.
Burlison reportedly told police she thought the kid might be constipated and believed the insertion of the brush handle might stir things up a bit and get the kid to crap.
Police say Burlison waited about 45-minutes for the handle to reappear before seeking medical assistance. Fortunately, the child was able to pass it without surgery.

Federal Way, WA — A 33-year-old certified nursing assistant is facing charges of second-degree assault of a child after police say they found an infant in her care covered in a white powder, burnt, bleeding and gasping for air in her home on January 10.
According to authorities, Mabinty Williams was babysitting the 4-week-old infant as a favor to a family friend, and in the four hours that she had possession of the child, had called her husband to complain about the kid no less than 16 times. Williams reportedly sounded a little more desperate and “off” with each call, prompting the man to return home.
When the husband arrived at the apartment, he said Williams insisted that he take the child back to it’s parents. Like, now. The man told police he told his wife he had to return his company vehicle, but would return shortly and take the baby. By the time he got back, though, the police were on scene.
Seems the couple’s neighbors called police right after Williams appeared at their door claiming there was someone in her house.…

Chicago, IL – A 65-year-old woman in Chicago has been arrested and charged with abusing two infants in her care after a hidden camera captured her physically abusing them.
The mother of two eight-month-old boys installed the camera after a doctor noticed bruising on one of the boys and advised her to install a hidden surveillance camera.
When the boys’ parents reviewed the video captured by the newly installed “nanny cam,” they watched in disbelief as the children’s caregiver, 65-year-old Alice E. Vesely, could be seen slapping, kicking, punching, smothering, grabbing, tossing, and recklessly lifting the twins by their arms and clothing.
The parents turned the video over to police who arrested Vesely and charged her with two counts of aggravated battery to a child. She is currently in jail on a $300,000 bond.
I always admire the parents who take the logical approach in these situations and contact police after discovering the abuse of their children. I would hope I would behave in the same fashion and not satisfy my need to confront the abuser and beat the life out of them.…

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The 9-year-old Indiana girl who went missing two days before Christmas was found dead yesterday and the man who was watching her when she vanished has been charged with her murder.
Because Aliahna Lemmon’s mother was sick with the flu and her father worked nights, she and her two younger sisters were being watched by a neighbor, 39-year-old Mike Plumadore, at the rundown trailer park where they all lived.
Plumadore stated when he woke up around 10 a.m. Friday morning, he found his door was unlocked and that Aliahna was gone. According to him, her sisters said Aliahna had left with her mother. No one realized this wasn’t the case until her mother called Plumadore at around 8:30 p.m that evening. Plumadore’s story didn’t wash with police.
“The story just didn’t make sense to our investigators or to me when I first heard it,” Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries said. “I thought this is the guy we needed to focus on. If we are going to find her, he’s going to be the one who has the answers for us.”
He was right. Plumadore was questioned by police on Friday, Saturday and for several hours Monday.…

Houston, TX — Police say a man who offered his babysitting services on Craigslist has been charged with the aggravated sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl in his care.
The child’s mother, in need of an overnight babysitter for her three children, reportedly went to Craigslist, clicked on the child care tab and ultimately decided to hire 32-year-old Steven Knox.
Knox had apparently cared for the woman’s children without incident for a period of several months. But on June 23, the woman’s 6-year-old daughter came home after two nights with Knox and accused him of touching her inappropriately.
According to court documents, the child’s mother called police after learning Knox had digitally raped her daughter. The child would tell police Knox “put his finger in her private area four times,” and that he had put “ice” on his finger and the penetration “burned.” An examination showed that the girl had a 3-millimeter tear on her vagina.
Knox was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 and later released after posting $30,000 bond.…

Valparaiso, IN – Tara Dawn Tryon, 21, of Wanatah, Indiana has been charged based on allegations she photographed and videotaped herself molesting a 3-year-old boy she was hired to babysit.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by Det. Sgt. Rick Strong of the Indiana State Police, LaPorte County Sheriff’s Police received a call from an anonymous caller who reported receiving – via email – photos and video “of a woman engaging in the sexual molestation of a young male child.” The caller identified the woman in the photos as Tryon. The affidavit also says that the caller stated that she also reported the abuse allegation to the Department of Social Services’ hotline.
Strong was provided a memory card with the photos and video. “Throughout the 39 images and two videos, Tara Tryon is seen committing numerous acts of deviate sexual conduct” on the boy and the boy “performing acts of deviate sexual conduct on Tara, in addition to acts of fondling.” The acts were committed “on or between” Oct.…

Case in point, 23-year-old Keyona Davis, a Florida babysitter who was caught on camera transporting a baby in a stroller while in the back of a pickup truck.
Police received calls from concerned people who reported seeing a woman travelling in the back of a pickup while holding on to a baby stroller containing an 8-month-old infant.
Police caught up with the truck and arrested Davis, charging her with felony child neglect. While in court, her public defender argued that the charge was too harsh, as the baby was unharmed.…

Gainesville, FL — Police arrested 21-year-old Tiffany Long late Tuesday after she was reportedly caught smothering a baby in her care.
The child’s mother told police she returned home from work early that evening and walked into her 10-month-old daughter’s room to find the babysitter standing over the crib holding a pillow over the child’s face. The child’s legs were flailing, the woman told police. When the woman confronted the alleged baby-shutter-upper, Long reportedly told her that it had never happened before, and asked that the woman not call police. Amazingly enough, Long was able to leave the home with her face still intact.
When police caught up with her later that evening, Long said the child had been crying uncontrollably and that she was playing peek-a-boo with the pillow to quiet her. She said she was just about to tickle the baby with the pillow by holding it over her face when mom walked in. Long then demonstrated for police how she held the pillow over the baby’s face.
She was promptly booked on charges of aggravated child abuse and ordered held on a $35,000 bond.…

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ — A woman is behind bars today accused of beating a little girl and then leaving her to die on the floor as she played Yoville on Facebook.
Sheila Polanski, 33, was babysitting 2-year-old Madeline McHenry last Tuesday when she called 911 to report the girl was having problems breathing. When paramedics arrived, they immediately noticed that the toddler had some bruising around her forehead, chest, and abdominal area. She was taken to the hospital, but would fall into a coma and then die on Thursday in her father’s arms.
Polanski offered up a number of reasons why the little girl she had been babysitting since May showed signs of physical trauma. These explanations included the girl striking her head on a wooden banister, a metal table leg, a chair leg, a refrigerator door and even that she had fallen off a table. But finally she admitted that she was stressed out over being evicted from her apartment, and when the little girl would not stop whining, she picked her up around her chest and shook her violently before throwing her to the floor.…

York, PA. – A 23-year-old woman is accused of burning a child’s hand so badly, his skin was peeling off his fingers.
Amanda Marguerite Coeyman, 23, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child, after police found that her version of events was inconsistent with the facts in the case. Now, maybe I just watch way too many crime shows, but I have no clue how this chick thought her story would actually fly with investigators.
On May 18 at about 12:45 p.m., Coeyman called York County 911 to report that a 2-year-old child in her care had burned his hand in the shower. When police arrived, the child’s hand was so badly burned that his skin was red and swollen with large blisters and some skin was actually hanging off of other fingers. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Medical Center.
Coeyman, a former assistant Eastern York coach, claimed Myles Miller (pictured) had burned his hand in a bucket she was filling with hot water in the shower.…

WALKER, Mich. — Police are looking for the woman who was babysitting a 7-month-old baby and left the poor kid in a car seat on a hot beach while she went swimming.
Police responded to Millennium Park after someone called them concerned about an unattended baby sitting on the beach strapped inside a car seat. When they arrived they found the sunburned baby wearing only a diaper, in direct sunlight and sound asleep.
When one of the deputies began yelling in an attempt to find who the baby belonged to, a 34-year-old woman came out of the water and said she knew the baby’s mother but only by first name. She then left the scene.
The baby was taken to a local hospital and treated for dehydration before being placed back in the care of its mother. She told police she had been at the beach earlier, then left the child with the babysitter to go to work.
CPS is now involved and when the woman is found, she could be facing some neglect-related charges. Tuesday was the hottest day of the year so far, temperatures reaching 94 degrees.…

Orlando, Florida – Thirteen floors beneath the Casey Anthony sideshow, another trial involving the death of a toddler has ended with 32-year-old Amanda Brumfield, the estranged daughter of Billy Bob Thorton, being convicted of aggravated manslaughter in the death of her 1-year-old goddaughter.
Back in October 2008, Brumfield was charged with murder after her best friend’s baby, Olivia Madison Garcia, died in her care. The baby would die after suffering a 3.5-inch fracture of her skull and bleeding on the brain. Brumfield would tell investigators that the injury was caused by the girl trying to climb out of her crib and falling.
She said after the fall, she noticed the girl had a minor mouth injury so she cleaned that up before feeding her bananas. After painting the girl’s toenails she laid on the couch and placed the girl on the floor beside her. When she woke up later and found the girl limp and unresponsive, she called 911. The call was placed two hours after the “fall” and in it you can hear Brumfield administering CPR to Olivia while her husband receives medical instructions from the dispatcher.…
