Oakland Park, FL — Allow me to introduce the lovely Dorothy Cooper. Cute, no? She’s been charged with attempted murder after police say she stabbed her neighbor with a steak knife when he refused to give her $2.
Cooper reportedly approached neighbor Robert Martin Sunday and asked him to give her a couple bucks. Her request was promptly denied. Cooper then demanded $5. Martin, again, refused. At that point, police say Cooper attacked Martin with a large steak knife, stabbing him in the back and chasing him outside. Once Martin fell to the ground, Cooper walked away, leaving him for dead.
Martin was transported to the hospital with a stab wound to the back and one to the ass. Though he was initially listed in critical condition, he was not listed as a patient Monday afternoon.
When questioned, Cooper first told police she was provoked after Martin asked her for sex *shudder* and struck her in the face when she refused his advances. She then made with the truth, admitting that she stabbed Martin because he refused to give her the money she wanted.…

Las Cruces, NM — Police have arrested a man suspected of dressing in women’s clothing and brutally beating his 58-year-old mother with a baseball bat.
Christopher Castillo, 38, was booked on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and tampering with evidence Monday after allegedly traveling from his home in San Jose to his mother’s home in Las Cruces with the intent of killing the woman.
Police responded to the woman’s home after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor. The neighbor reported seeing a man, later identified as Castillo, wearing a white dress, high heels, stockings and a wig and walking toward the woman’s home. A short time later, the neighbor heard screams and went to investigate. When she stepped into the victim’s home, she saw Castillo standing over the woman, baseball bat in hand.
The neighbor reportedly yelled out, causing Castillo to flee. The neighbor then helped the victim to her feet and out of the house.
Police apprehended Castillo a couple blocks away from the home. By that time, he had changed into a pair of khaki pants, a white shirt and tennis shoes.…
Continue ReadingMan Accused Of Tossing Daughters, Wife Over Fourth-Floor Balcony
November 8, 2011 at 8:44 am by Morbid
Toronto, Canada – We don’t have nearly the amount of stories out of Canada as I would like. But I aim on fixing that, starting with this story out of Toronto in which a man allegedly tossed his wife and two daughters off a fourth-floor balcony.
According to the reports I can find, 27-year-old Jerome Stephenson was in court on Sunday facing three charges of attempted murder after tossing his wife and two daughters, aged eight months and two years, over their apartment balcony. He then jumped over himself, but was restrained by other residents until police arrived.
Witnesses described a horrific scene: The toddler wearing white pajamas lying in the fetal position, inches from a concrete sidewalk. Her older sister was lying on the grass nearby in a crumpled heap while their mother was on the ground flush with the building.
Surprisingly, everyone survived. Stephenson’s wife suffered serious injuries while his two girls were being treated at the hospital for life-threatening injuries. On Sunday their condition was listed as fair and doctors expect both girls to survive.…

Los Altos, CA — In what prosecutors are describing as a “carefully plotted” attempt to kill her estranged husband, 50-year-old Laura Jean Wenke, dressed in coveralls, rubber boots and bubble wrap, approached the man from behind and proceeded to get stabby.
According to police, wacky Wenke showed up at the couple’s business, identified as Wenke Construction, at about 7:00 p.m. on September 15. I don’t know how she managed to sneak up on the man, but squeak sneak she did. Police say she hit him once in the ribs with a stun gun and stabbed him multiple times in the neck and chest as he sat at his computer.
The man somehow survived the sneak attack and notified police – officers found him bleeding outside the business. He was taken to Stanford Hospital in critical condition and released a week later.
Wenke, for all of her “careful” planning, apparently failed to draw up an escape plan…she was apprehended inside the building, her bubble wrap outfit streaked with blood.
Why all the hatred?…

October 31, 2011 at 7:40 am by kniption
Orlando, FL – Late Friday night, John Luther, 31, and his fiancée had returned from dinner and drinks when he asked for money to go out, according to police. She reportedly claimed to be broke and went to bed. Bitch.
Police records state Luther responded by dousing the woman’s head with gasoline and igniting her pillow with a lighter. The record goes on to say that Luther then started to “put the fire out with his hands” and “left the residence … to go out drinking.” The fiancée reportely went to the living room and fell asleep with her dog. I am guessing because her pillow was all burned and everything…
According to the arrest report, approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours later Luther returned to the residence and – in an intoxicated state – woke his fiancée to advise her that the house was full of smoke.
Police arriving at the couple’s home noted “extensive structural (fire) damage” to a corner of the house and the woman smelling of gasoline.…

Anaheim, CA — The pathetic lookin’ sack of crap to the left is 24-year-old Joshua Robey – he’s accused of trying to kill his 2-month-old son by repeatedly shaking and punching him and swinging him around by the neck in a “noose-like” blanket.
Robey’s girlfriend apparently suspected him of cheating on her, so she set up a hidden camera in her home to record him while he was alone in the home, caring for the infant. And I can’t even begin to imagine the horror, fear, anger and revulsion she felt when she viewed the recording the next morning.
According to prosecutors, Robey is seen wrapping a blanket around the infant’s neck and picking him up by lifting both ends of the blanket like a noose. He is then seen swinging the child, by his neck, for more than a minute. He was just gettin’ started…
Police said Robey laid the child down and proceeded to punch him in the chest several times with a closed fist. He then slapped the child numerous times, grabbed him by the throat and began to violently shake him.…

October 14, 2011 at 4:23 am by kniption
Lanham, MD – Antoinette Starks, 55, was arrested Tuesday morning in the parking lot of the local Target after she allegedly stabbed a female shopper who was loading purchases into her car. When police arrived, they found the victim in the parking lot with multiple stab wounds. Starks was also in the parking lot. She was said to be holding knives that she had stolen earlier from a nearby store.
Police said Starks ignored their requests to drop the knives and continued walking through the parking lot. She was promptly tazed and taken into custody.
Police said Starks – a schizophrenic who, among other things, suffers from a paranoid fear of white people – had recently been released from a psychiatric facility into a group home. This after Administrative Law Judge Una M. Perez declared that Starks has been free of symptoms of her mental disorder since at least May 2007. Citing a doctor’s opinion, Perez – along with her recommendation of a group home – ordered that Starks take her medications as prescribed, not possess weapons, and ‘abide by other conditions.’
Hmmm… I wonder how she did on abiding by those other conditions…
Interestingly, Starks had been placed in the psychatric facility in the first place after chasing – and then stabbing – two women at the Nordstrom in the Westfield Montgomery Mall in 2005.…

Lawrence, NY - A man has been charged with attempted murder after he and his 2 year-old daughter were found in his car, sick from being poisoned by chemicals.
Ammonium chloride, as it turns out, isn’t actually all that poisonous. Despite this, police believe 45-year-old Khemchan Sulaiman mixed the chemical with baby formula and gave his daughter the concoction in a bottle. The chemical was also found on the girl, along with a powder believed to be a household pesticide. Allegedly both Sulaiman and his daughter ingested the chemical.
The pair were found semi-conscious in Sulaiman’s car Monday morning, parked behind a block of stores, after someone heard the man honking the car’s horn and yelling for help. Police believe this to be an attempted murder-suicide and that it may have stemmed from some bad blood between Sulaiman and his ex-wife, who is also the girl’s mother. Both were taken to the hospital in critical condition, but as of Tuesday the girl is listed as stable and Sulaiman is expected to make it to court, where he could get up to 25 years.…

Indianapolis, IN — Alice Howe, 48, is facing multiple charges after a 68-year-old woman she was “caring” for was found gagged and bound in duct tape.
Police were called to the apartment Howe shared with the victim after neighbors called to complain about the banging coming from inside the residence. Upon entry, police found the victim on a mattress in the middle of a dark room.
“She was immobile. She could not move. She was bound by her feet and hands,” said Indianapolis police spokesman Officer Anthony Schneider. “She couldn’t yell or scream because her mouth was bound also.”
Police say the woman had been banging on the wall for hours trying to get someone’s attention. They believe she had been bound for more than 22 hours.
The victim told police Howe lived with her as a caretaker. And when she wasn’t caretaking, Howe was apparently prostituting herself and indulging in a little crack smoking, which, the victim said, made her mean and abusive. Not only was Howe the woman’s supposed caretaker, living in her home rent free, she was also the sole beneficiary on the woman’s life insurance policy and had power of attorney over all of the victim’s financial matters.…

October 5, 2011 at 12:33 pm by kniption
Eastleigh, England - Virtually an entire family has been convicted for the attempted murder of their wealthy 89-year-old English patriarch. Apparently not willing to merely wait for their inheritence, the brainiacs sought assistance from Google for ways to kill the elderly gentleman. This, and other details, were heard during their court hearings.
The gentleman’s 16-year-old-grandaughter, her 14-year-old sister and 49-year-old mother, reportedly scoured internet for ways to kill the elderly man – along with a 19-year-old grandson and his 17-year-old girlfriend – using cryptic Google searches like “the easiest way to kill an old person”, “can you kill someone with a punch?”, “dangerous drugs for the elderly”, and the completely mysterious “if you hit someone across the back of the head with a brick will they die?”
The court heard that their first attempts – throwing bricks through his window and cutting the fuel line on his car to make it explode – failed. Investigators concluded that they then devised plans to physically attack man – who suffers from dementia – using bricks in plastic bags in an attempt to scare him to death.…

PINE CITY, Minn. — Police have arrested 16-year-old David Doberstein and charged him with shooting his sleeping stepfather in the head with a revolver.
Police were called to Doberstein’s home early Wednesday morning after he woke up his mother and told her that he thought something was wrong with 41-year-old Mark McKeller, who was sitting in a chair bleeding from his head with his right eye drooping.
McKeller was conscious and talking, but had no clue what the hell was going on or why he was bleeding. Thinking the man may have had a stroke and hit his head, paramedics rushed him to the hospital where a CAT scan would find the reasons behind the man’s injuries. It was in the form of a bullet lodged behind McKeller’s right eye.
When police began asking Doberstein questions, he told them that it was an accident. He told them he was trying to sneak out of the house and the .22 caliber revolver he had taken to scare a dog had accidentally discharged as he was leaving, striking his stepdad in the head.…

Alhambra, CA — Robert Yachen Lee, the owner of O My Yogurt in Monterey Park, is in a whole heap o’ trouble after authorities allege he lured a female employee into a storage room above the shop, rendered her unconscious, got her nekkid and locked her in a box.
The woman told authorities that when she came to, she was bound with tape and wearing a collar around her neck. Lee had apparently been thoughtful enough to provide the woman with an adult diaper as well.
Authorities have yet to provide a description of said box, but methinks it was rather flimsy as the woman, though bound with tape, managed to free herself and get to a nearby optometrist’s office to summon help.
Prosecutors believe Lee had been planning this for some time because the storage room had recently been soundproofed. If only he had put as much thought into that damn box…
Lee, 37, was charged Friday with kidnapping to commit rape and attempted murder. He’s now being held on a whoppin’ $10 million bail.…

ORANGE, Calif. – Some horrific news out of California today where police have arrested a woman, accusing her of tossing her 7-month-old son off the fourth-floor of a hospital parking deck.
Sonia Hermosillo, 31, has been charged with attempted murder after someone called 911 on Monday evening, saying they witnessed a baby being thrown from a CHOC parking structure.
Unbelievably, the little badass gave his mother two proverbial middle fingers and was still alive when he was found. He was rushed to University of California, Irvine, Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Police were able to use surveillance video to trace the license plate of a vehicle leaving the structure, with an empty child restraint seat, back to Hermosillo. Investigators say that while all this was going on, they received a call from a man reporting his wife, Hermosillo, and their 7-month-old son were both missing.
At around 10 p.m., a police officer pulled over Hermosillo after spotting her driving past Children’s Hospital. Hermosillo was detained for questioning, then arrested without incident.…

August 19, 2011 at 3:01 pm by kniption
Naperville, IL - Alexander Georg, 27, was jailed on $1.5 million bond after – according to prosecutors – he attacked his mother so severely with a butcher knife that the handle broke off. The attack was reportedly his answer to her offer to make him a sandwich.
Georg is reported to live with his 52-year-old mother in an apartment on Naperville’s northeast side. Published reports said Georg’s mother had brought him home earlier in the day from a ‘mental and emotional health care facility’ where he had undergone treatment for nearly two weeks.
Police say that, after he arrived home, his mother offered to make him a sandwich, and he ‘grabbed the knife, chased her out to the driveway and pinned her down and stabbed her repeatedly.’
Neighbors described the woman’s screams as “bone-chilling,” prompting them to call the police. When police arrived, Georg’s mother was said to be standing across the street covered in blood. Georg was standing in the driveway of the residence and was arrested without resisting.…

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Last one from me today. A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after police say he tried to kill his wife, a waitress at Waffle House, by running his truck into the restaurant.
According to witnesses, Charles Patrick O’Bryan called the Waffle House where his wife was working, but was told he could not speak with her. He allegedly told an employee that he going to ”run his truck through the building and kill everyone.”
He wasn’t bullshitting. Police say O’Bryan drove his 1987 Ford pickup into the restaurant and hit his wife, Danielle Gibbons. Witnesses say afterwards, O’Bryan got out of his truck holding a knife and started making threatening comments to Gibbons.
Luckily, someone inside the Waffle House was able to use a piece of broken metal to subdue O’Bryan until police arrived.
Gibbons was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while her husband was taken to jail on charges of attempted murder and felony criminal mischief.…

Switzerland – “Are you home mum? I’m just about to drop in,” 47-year-old Konrad Schmidt allegedly said before he flew a twin engine plane through his mother’s bedroom window.
Schmidt was battling depression and had been involved in a long-running feud with his mother ever since she divorced his father who would later die of cancer.
“Schmidt felt very bitter and blamed his mother. He had also suffered depression and financial problems over the past few years,” said a police spokesperson.
On Saturday, neighbors reported seeing Schmidt flying over the houses a few times before he called his mother from the cockpit and then kamikazed into her home. Schmidt would die in the crash, crush the two story home and ignite a giant fireball.
But Schmidt couldn’t even do this right. Although he skillfully navigated a twin-engine plane through a bedroom window, his mother was physically unharmed. She had been in the basement at the time of the crash.…

Valley Falls, KS — The happy lookin’ fella to the left is 25-year-old Brandon Smelser – he was taken into custody over the weekend for allegedly getting all stabby when a friend showed up at a party with the wrong beer.
Police say Smelser and 22-year-old Chris Daniel got into a fight in the parking lot of a mobile home park early Saturday morning after Daniel had the nerve to show up with an undisclosed amount of Natural Light beer instead of Smelser’s desired brand. That’s when Smelser reportedly got all stab happy.
Daniel was transported to the hospital, where he underwent surgery for injuries considered to be life-threatening. He remains hospitalized.
Smelser was promptly booked on charges of first-degree attempted murder. A bond amount has not been made available.

Wayne City, IL — Roughly four hours after allegedly beating and choking his new wife so badly she had to be placed in a coma, an Illinois man was found dead.
35 year-old Charla Baker was married to 41 year-old Rodney Baker for less than a week before he allegedly choked her unconscious Wednesday morning. Her children woke up to the sound of her screams for help and witnessed Rodney fleeing out the front door. When police arrived, Mrs. Baker was found unresponsive and bleeding from the nose and mouth. They stated she also sustained a head injury.
She was brought by ambulance to the hospital where doctors place her in a medically-induced coma. Rodney’s body was found shortly after 8am by two farm workers, hanging from the steps of a grain bin, which is probably some farm-type apparatus I can’t be bothered to look up. Said Wayne County Coroner Jimmy Taylor, “It appeared that he hanged himself in a hurried fashion very shortly after the incident… he first tried to use some clothing to make a rope, then found a piece of rope from a fishing net in the tool box of his truck.” Yikes.…

Dothan, AL — Kelly Laster, 29, has been charged with attempted murder after police say she left her 3-year old son in a storm drain and went shopping.
According to police, sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, Laster placed the toddler in a storm drain approximately 150 yards from the home where she lives with her parents. She and her 5-year-old daughter then walked off to go shopping at WalMart.
Police were notified when Laster’s father woke and found the three missing. Laster and her daughter were found in the store a short time later and the search for the missing toddler began.
The police, grandpa and the neighbors scoured the neighborhood with flashlights for the next 45 minutes. It was grandpa who found the kiddo in the drain.
“I found the little boy myself and pulled him out,” said Homer Laster. “I checked the drain, I woke him up and pulled him out.”
Except for a few scratches, the boy is reported to be in good condition.
Laster was booked on charges of attempted murder and was ordered held on $200,000 bond.…

Sweetwater, TX — Carlos Rico may be facing attempted murder charges after police say he abandoned his son, 4-year-old Angel Flores, in a cactus patch off of Interstate 20 early Tuesday morning.
According to Sweetwater police Chief Jim Kelley, Rico stopped his car along a cactus-lined stretch of Interstate 20 at about 3 a.m. Tuesday and “threw the boy out of the car like a bag of garbage.”
About 3.5 hours later, Sweetwater High School basketball coach Al Hunt was driving by and saw what he thought was a guardrail about 5-feet from the yellow line. Turns out it wasn’t a guardrail at all.
“It took me seconds to realize, ‘it’s a little kid there,’” the 54-year-old coach said.
Hunt grabbed the child and placed him in his vehicle and his son called the police. They tried to question the boy, but were unable to get much info out of him.
“He did hold up four fingers when I asked how old he was,” Hunt said.
When asked where his parents were, Hunt said the boy pointed east.…
