Sacramento, CA - Craig Fugate, a 30-year-old graffiti artist, accidentally asphyxiated himself while allegedly attempting to graffiti a Sacramento high-rise.
Apparently, Fugate entered the 1201 K Tower on Sunday, got onto the roof, and then used rope left by window washers to crudely fashion a harness to lower himself off a 17th floor landing on the east side of the office building. The rope ended up looped around his chest and legs, squeezing him into a fetal position as the rope cinched around him.
Police and fire responded to a call for help at 7:44 am Monday morning, when Fugate’s body was discovered dangling from the building. Emergency crews rappelled down the building and confirmed Fugate was dead and, since is body wasn’t retrieved until around 9 am, a lot of people got to see a dead body hanging 160 feet in the air. Markers, glass etching tools, spray paint and a stencil were also found at the scene.
Fugate’s uncle, Joseph Fugate, stated, “I have never known for him to do that before. He is an artist. I know that.” Craig Fugate had been living in Vancouver, WA and had told his uncle he was planning on moving to Sacramento.…

Manheim, PA – A Pennsylvania man is accused of intentionally suffocating his girlfriend by sitting on her head after injuring her in a high-speed car crash earlier this month.
For several weeks before her death, police say 17-year-old Samantha Heller told friends and family she was pregnant, hinting that the child did not belong to her longtime on again-off again boyfriend, 19-year-old Benjamin Klinger.
Klinger, reportedly a jealous, controlling bastard, apparently got wind of the rumor and set his bizarro plan in motion.
Police believe Klinger intentionally hit a highway guardrail at a speed of more than 100 mph in an attempt to off the girl. When that failed to kill her, he sat on her head.
According to a truck driver who happened upon the crash in the early morning hours of December 4, he heard Heller screaming, and was told by 911 operators not to move the crash victims. When police arrived, Klinger was reportedly sitting on top of Heller’s head and torso.
“Klinger was observed by the officers to be what appeared as ‘slipping in and out of consciousness,’” police wrote.…

Pooler, GA - A woman found unconscious in a McDonald’s bathroom last Wednesday died shortly thereafter from asphyxiation due to carbon dioxide leaking through the walls from a faulty gas line leading to a soda fountain.
Firefighters were called when two women were found in the restroom completely out. Initial investigations pointed to Knoxxxious noxious fumes released by cleaning chemicals, however that was ruled out after the autopsy of 80 year-old Anne Felton from Ponte Vedra, Florida showed death by suffocation. Cleveland, OH — A 49 year-old man was discovered dead by a teenage employee on Sunday, and the cause of death is believed to be ‘asphyxia due to airway obstruction by foreign body’ as a result of a little heavy bondage. This one gives all the ‘Cousin Walter’ stories from Kevin Smith’s movies a run for their money.

CONCORD, Mass. – As everyone following this case already knows by now, the boy found dead along a gravel road in Maine has been identified as 6-year-old Camden Pierce-Hughes, and his mother has been taken into custody.
For those of you who have not been following this case, the body of a boy was found Saturday under a blanket alongside a remote road in Maine. Police were having issues identifying him as he did not match any missing persons reports. Even after they released a computer-generated photo of the boy, no one seemed to know who he was. The only clue they had was from a witness who saw a navy blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in the area.
This bit of info is what led to the boy’s identity finally being discovered and how he ended up on the side of the road. Someone saw a suspicious vehicle that matched the description being reported in this case sitting at a Chelmsford rest stop with a woman inside. Novi, MI – Police were called to the home Mark Schons shares with his wife and two children Friday afternoon after the boys, Camden, 4, and Tynan, 6, failed to show up for school, and his wife Jennifer, 38, missed an appointment with friends.
When officers arrived, Jennifer and the boys were found dead in separate rooms of the home. Jennifer had apparently been stabbed to death, and Camden and Tynan died of asphyxiation due to compression — Camden with smothering as a secondary cause of death. Hours later, 39-year-old Mark was found dead inside his vehicle in a WalMart parking lot a few miles from his home – police say the cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning.

Belleville, ON - Damn…this story has so many different layers of ick that I don’t quite know where to begin. Col. David Russell Williams, once a well-respected commander in the Canadian air force, CFB Trenton, stood in court this week and listened as charge after charge against him was read. The list, which took a whoppin’ 36 minutes to complete, included two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of forcible confinement and 82 separate breaking and entering charges that date back to 2007. Williams pleaded guilty to each and every charge. As for the two counts of murder, the 42-year-old man has admitted to the brutal beating, rape and murder of 38-year-old Marie-France Comeau, a flight attendant at CFB Trenton, in November of 2009. And authorities say Williams documented the entire incident on video. Williams also confessed to the kidnapping, torture, rape and murder of 27-year-old Jessica Elizabeth Lloyd earlier this year. Authorities say Williams abducted the woman on the evening of January 28 and took her to his cottage where he raped and tortured her for at least a day before strangling her and dumping her body in a field.…

INDIANAPOLIS — I tried to get this story up earlier this week, but the site was being stupid and just made it impossible. So for those of you who had not heard already, a mother has been accused of locking her five malnourished children in an upstairs closet for over 10 hours while she went to visit a friend. The 6 feet wide and 2 feet deep closet had metal shutters for doors that 28-year-old Ebyan Farah had pushed a bed up against to keep the children from getting out. When she returned, she found 3-year-old son Zahariya and 5-year-old daughter Zuhur unresponsive and stiff. Instead of calling 911 or attempting to revive them, she carried their bodies downstairs. Police were only called hours later when a friend of the family saw one of the dead kids on a couch. When police arrived, both children were in full rigor mortis. No official cause of death has been released, but some are reporting the kids died from a combination of positional asphyxia, low levels of oxygen, heat and malnutrition. Cleveland, OH - Back in August of last year, Mia Landingham, 25, was accused of smooshing her boyfriend, the father to her three children, to death with her 300 pound bulk. The cause of 29-year-old Mikal Middleton-Bey’s death was listed as asphyxiation. The two, who had a history of domestic altercations, had spend a good part of that fateful day drinking before the arguing commenced. Mia punched the 120 pound Mikal in the face and after he grabbed her, she pushed him to the ground and sat on him. When she got up, Mikal wasn’t breathing. Last Wednesday, Mia pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter – though she faced a maximum of five years in prison, she was sentenced to three years probation and 100 hours of community service. Mia was apologetic about her role in Mikal’s death and apologized to the judge for squashing the father of her children to death and wishes she could take it all back. Mikal’s family doesn’t feel that justice has been served. They had hoped that Mia would be released from jail at some point in order to be with her children, but were rather surprised that she will face no additional jail time in the matter.…

At around 6 am Tuesday, Maria Palaez, age 29, called 911 and reported that her child was not breathing. Emergency personnel arrived to find 2 year old Rene Torres dead at the scene due to asphyxiation. His parents admitted to duct taping him up as a form of punishment and also said that they had taped his mouth occasionally. Though police are keeping the details of the case quiet, they have arrested both the mother and live-in boyfriend, 32-year-old Gabriel Diaz, due to the “suspicious nature of the call” and other evidence found in the course of the investigation. …
