Boy, 4, Accidentally Shoots, Kills Father After Picking Up Loaded Gun

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ – Police said a 4-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his father, 35-year-old Justin Thomas, while they were visiting at a friend’s house.
Thomas and his son had driven to Prescott valley from Phoenix for an unannounced visit to see his former roommate. Within minutes of being inside the home, Thomas’ son found a gun, picked it up and asked what it was while pulling the trigger.
The gun fired, and Thomas was hit. He was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition, and later died from his injuries. Police said it’s standard procedure to investigate any death as a homicide anytime someone dies of anything other than natural causes, but probably will not be filing charges against the owner of the gun.
“At this point, it does appear that this is just a tragic accident from this child, and we will look to see if there’s any negligence issues there,” said Prescott Valley police Sgt. Brandon Bonney. “But, at this point, the information we have is it’s just a tragic accident that was unforeseen.”
Bonney also said the gun should have been locked away, but that Thomas’ friend was caught off guard by the unannounced visit and that no kids lived in the home.…

Phoenix, AZ – A 24-year-old Phoenix woman was taken into custody Sunday after she allegedly mowed a pedestrian down, then called police to report that an “unknown suspect” had damaged her car.
According to police, a 51-year-old man had been walking mid-block in the curb lane when Kristen Suggs plowed into him. Suggs then apparently fled the scene and called 911 to report that an “unknown suspect” threw an “unknown object” at her car, causing extensive damage.
By that time, medical personnel had responded to the scene of the “accident” and pronounced the man dead. His name has not yet been released.
When officers arrived to take Suggs’ report on the damage to her vehicle, they determined the damage was consistent with a recent vehicle/pedestrian collision, and she was placed under arrest.
Suggs was booked into jail and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Police have reason to believe she was intoxicated at the time of the collision and DUI charges are pending.

MOUNT HOPKINS, AZ – Lord knows I have reported on just about every horrifying death imaginable, but every now and then one comes around that has me thinking about the victim and muttering, “You poor, poor son of a bitch.”
On Monday, 55-year-old Steven Johnson was found dead in the Santa Rita Mountains hanging from his rappelling gear and covered in bee stings. The dog Johnson often took with him was also found dead and covered in bee stings on the cliff Johnson had rappelled from.
Johnson, an experienced hiker and mountain climber, was reportedly working an area of Mount Hopkins on Friday to prepare it for future climbers. Sheriff’s deputies went to search the site after he failed to show up for work on Monday.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine actual cause of death, but Santa Cruz County’s Lt. Raoul Rodriguez believes that Johnson may have disturbed a bees’ nest while hammering his ropes into the cliff. Some comments state that this is a terrible time of year in regards to bees, and some mentioned that the bees that attacked Johnson and his dog were probably the dreaded Africanized Honey Bee, aka the true Killer Bee.…

Phoenix, AZ – Police say 36-year-old Nina Koistinen, a mother of nine, admitted she murdered her six day old daughter because she had too many kids.
After her daughter’s death on April 8, Koistinen initially said that she’d taken some medication and had fallen asleep on the girl while feeding her. It wasn’t until an autopsy was performed and revealed possible signs of suffocation, that police decided to dig deeper.
They found that Koistinen had made past statements about wanting to smother some of her children and, after a car accident that seemed intentional, stated she wanted her children to go to Heaven.
After interviewing Koistinen a second time, she admitted she’d smothered the child by pinching her nose and covering her mouth. She said she murdered her daughter because she already had too many children and was jealous of the attention the infant was getting from her husband.
She was subsequently arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder. During her initial court appearance, Koistinen’s husband told the judge that his wife has suffers from bipolar, schizophrenia and depression. He said that they have tried to manage it for years… by having nine children.…

Tempe, AZ – Luis Soltero has been charged with murder after walking into an Arizona police department and admitting he had murdered his girlfriend, 19-year-old ASU student Rebecca ‘Becky’ Kasper.
On Tuesday morning, 22-year-old Luis Soltero walked into a Tempe Police Department substation, handed an officer his ID card and Kasper’s driver’s license, then said: “My girlfriend is there and she is dead, and I am not going to tell you anything more without an attorney,”‘ according to the court papers.
He then stated he felt dizzy after spending 12 hours in his running car inside a storage space. While he was taken to the hospital, police went to the home he shared with Kasper to verify his claims. After forcing open the door, they found Kasper dead in a blood-splattered bathroom.
According to court documents, the 19-year-old’s decaying body was in a bathtub covered with blankets and a yoga mat, with coffee grounds and baking soda sprinkled on top. Her ankles and hands were bound, and her head was covered with a plastic bag.…

Phoenix, AZ - Police have arrested 21-year-old Rickesha Burns after they say she shoved a vibrator so far up her 2-year-old son’s ass, surgery is now required to remove it.
Burns called police Sunday to report that she was at a park with her son, and while she was “looking at a text message for about 10 seconds,” a 12-year-old boy she didn’t know at the park did something to her son, causing him to bleed from his anus.
After being brought to the hospital, doctors found the boy had numerous bruises around his anus, a “hanger type” bruise on his hip, and yet another bruise on his neck.
But that was nothing. After further investigating, doctor’s found that someone had shoved “a vibrator or some other sex toy” up the boy’s rectum. It was so far up the poor kid’s ass, he will have to have surgery to get it out.
The bruises around around the boy’s anus appear to have been caused when someone used a hangar, or something similar, to try and pry the vibrator out of the kid’s rectum.…

TEMPE, AZ - Andrew Kent is facing assault charges after the 21-year-old jackass tossed vodka into a bonfire at an Arizona State University frat party, severely burning two teenage girls.
One of the victims is a 17-year-old high school student from California who was at ASU on a recruiting trip, the other is an 18-year-old female ASU student. Both girls were invited to a party at a fraternity house located off campus.
According to Tempe Sgt. Michael Pooley, the party had been going on since Friday and there were about 300 people present and a lot of underage drinking going on.
According to witnesses, the teen was standing next to a a bonfire when Kent, a junior at ASU and a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, threw a vodka bottle into a bonfire. The resulting explosion set the two teen girls on fire.
Both teens suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns as a result. The 17-year-old sustained severe burns to her legs, while the 18-year-old sustained serious burns from the back of her shoulder to the back of her legs.…

MESA, AZ – A woman accused of trying to drown her 3-year-old in a puddle says on the day of the incident, she was just following the orders of Jesus Christ.
According to court documents, a man called police to report he was investigating a child screaming when he saw 30-year-old Victoria Soliz on her knees pushing a toddler’s face into a puddle in is front yard. The man told police he told Soliz to stop, but she just moved to a larger puddle and shoved the child’s face in it several more times. She then started giving the toddler what appeared to be CPR.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the Soliz’s 3-year-old shivering from the cold and wearing water-soaked clothing. Soliz was taken into custody while her son was taken to the hospital to receive medical treatment.
While in custody, Soliz was also taken to the hospital where she told doctors she’d been using meth to self-treat her schizophrenia, but that it was ”Jesus” that told her to “drown” her son.…

Scottsdale, AZ – Jason London, the actor best known for his role as Randall “Pink” Floyd in DAZED AND CONFUSED, was arrested after getting his ass kicked by some bouncers at an Arizona club, and produced one of the most hilarious celebrity mugshots I have seen since Nick Nolte’s. The 40-year-old was with his wife at the Martini Ranch nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona when he reportedly sneezed on a bouncer. When the bouncer asked for an apology, London punched the man in the face.
This led to London being ejected from the club and getting his face rearranged in the process. When police arrived, London became even more belligerent and shoved one of the paramedics who had arrived to treat him.

Mesa, AZ – Jaica Rowley, 36, was arrested on charges of child abuse last week after police say she zip-tied her 11-year-old son to a pole in the backyard so she could run errands.
Police responded to Rowley’s home after a neighbor called authorities to report what sounded like a boy being hit by a woman.
When police arrived at the home, they found the child sitting with his arms and legs around a porch support post with his hands and feet zip-tied together. Officers saw some blood on the boy’s hand and on the porch.
“The zip ties were too tight, and he was complaining,” said police spokesman Detective Steve Berry. “Through using scissors, or something like that, to cut them off, she managed to cut his finger as well. That didn’t apparently stop her from re-zip tying him to the pole.”
Rowley told the officers that while she was tying the kid up, he began complaining that the zip-tie was too tight. Compassionate woman that she is, she cut it off to relieve the pain, accidentally cutting his pinky finger in the process.…

Chandler, AZ — A sexually frustrated woman was taken into custody Sunday after allegedly threatening to kill her husband because he wouldn’t give her any nookie.
Gloria Pratt, 53, reportedly called police to complain that she and her husband of two years were no longer having sex and she was upset, dammit.
When police arrived at the home that evening, they met with an allegedly intoxicated Pratt, who repeated the complaint. I’m guessing she didn’t explain the reasoning behind the man’s refusal to give her dick.
It was quite apparent that a crime had not been committed by either party, so the officers wished the couple good luck and left the home.
About a minute later, the responding officers glanced at the couple’s living room window and witnessed Pratt screaming “do something!” at her husband as he reclined on the couch.
According to police, Pratt then yelled, “I’m going to kill you!” before walking off to the kitchen. You know, where the pointy and poisony shit is stored….
The officers then had reason to arrest Pratt – they knocked on the couple’s door and detained her.…

Phoenix, AZ — Jodi Arias is currently on trial, facing the death penalty after brutally murdering Travis Alexander, her one-time boyfriend. Everybody seems to be fascinated with this case, mainly because of the woman accused. She’s easy to hate, admittedly, but I’m not writing this because of her, but because of Nancy Grace. I’ll get to that in a second.
Arias, 32, met Alexander at a work conference six years ago. Arias claims that the two were madly in love, but Alexander’s friends and family say the man tried to break of the relationship after only a few months of dating, stating Arias was too jealous and not marriage material. In the months after the break-up, Arias allegedly began stalking Alexander and, according to his family, slit his tires and sneaked into his house.
In 2008, Alexander was found dead in his shower. He had been stabbed 27 times, had his throat slit, and had been shot in the head. Arias professed her innocence claiming she was not in the house at the time Alexander was killed, adding there was no way she could have murdered Alexander.…

Phoenix, AZ – An Arizona mother of five has been charged with child abuse after she took her 6-year-old daughter to a McDonald’s for ice cream, and then abandoned her there.
Police say 23-year-old Lucy Parra took her daughter, Everlyn, to a Mcdonald’s Wednesday evening so the girl could go in and purchase an ice cream. When the girl returned to the parking lot, she could not find her mother and her mother’s car was nowhere to be found.
McDonald’s employees say the girl was visibly upset over having been abandoned and that they ended up calling police after 15 minutes of searching for Parra. While waiting for police, McDonald’s employees said they fed the girl in the office and tried comforting her. “She was really hungry. She said she had not ate all day since school lunch,” the employee said.
Officers were still on the scene when Parra came back to the restaurant 40 minutes later. Employees say she appeared intoxicated, claiming she never left the parking lot. The employee says that’s bullshit, as there were only four cars in the lot when they were out looking for her.…

GILBERT, AZ - A woman in Arizona was so angry over Obama winning the presidential elections that she ran down her husband with her vehicle after an argument over his not voting.
According to the police report, 28-year-old Holly Solomon got into an argument with her husband regarding Barack Obama winning a second term. Holly feels that Obama is the blame for her family’s ills, and is now looking at four more years of struggling.
Aside from blaming all of those who voted him in, she also blamed the people who did not vote at all; her husband included. Witnesses say the couple had been yelling at each other as they sat inside a Jeep SUV, but when Daniel got out of the vehicle, Holly lost her goddamn marbles.

TUCSON, AZ – Two sisters, ages 9 and 11, were arrested the other day after they prank called 911 and pretended to be Isable Calis, the 6-year-old girl who has been missing since April.
Police say they received a phone call Sunday morning from a young girl who identified herself as Calis. She told the dispatcher that she had been kidnapped and then hung up the phone.
The call was traced to a cell phone in the area of an apartment complex and over 25 officers, including detectives from the Sex Offenders Registration and Tracking Unit, responded to the area. After e bit of canvassing the neighborhood, police made contact with the sisters who admitted that they had made the call as a joke. There mother was home at the time, but did not know what her daughters had done.
Both girls were arrested on suspicion of false reporting to a law enforcement agency. Although they were initially booked into a juvenile corrections center, their lack of a record and the charge being a misdemeanor meant they did not meet the criteria for being detained. According to Stephen Rubin, the juvenile court’s administrator, it will be up to the Pima County Attorney’s Office to press charges against the siblings.…

TOLLESON, AZ – Police have charged 48-year-old Edgardo Luis Claudio-Marrero with murder after they say he beat his estranged wife to death with a toilet tank lid.
Police were called to Claudio-Marrero’s home after his estranged wife’s current boyfriend, Larry Turner, called them with concerns for her safety. He told them that Sreymon Claudio had dropped him off at a nearby fast-food restaurant so that she could go to her husband’s house and confront him about some jewelry of hers he had pawned. She went alone because she did not want her husband to know of her relationship with Turner.
Turner grew increasingly concerned when Claudio had not returned a few hours later, so he took a cab to Claudio-Marrero’s home. He waited in the cab for 45-minutes, calling police after watching Claudio-Marrero walk out of the home, search for something in his vehicle, and then go back inside.
When police arrived, it took Claudio-Marrero fifteen minutes to come out. When he did, police observed his hands had fresh cuts and were bleeding. When police searched inside the home they would find Claudio’s dead body in an upstairs bathtub.…

Phoenix, AZ — A 14-year-old boy stopped a wannabe burglar in his tracks, critically injuring the man as he brandished a gun at the teen and his three siblings Friday afternoon.
According to police, the boy and his siblings, ages 8, 10 and 12, were home alone when a strange woman rang the doorbell that afternoon. The teen later told police he didn’t answer the door because he didn’t recognize the woman.
A short time later, the teen heard someone banging on the door. He gathered his siblings and rushed them upstairs, stopping to retrieve a handgun from his parent’s bedroom.
As the boy stood at the top of the stairs, he saw a man break through the front door and aim a gun at him. Before the intruder could get a shot off the kid fired, effectively altering the intruder’s plans.
Police say the unidentified 37-year-old man was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition. He has since been upgraded to critical condition and is expected to survive. Upon his release, he will be booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault and burglary.…

CHANDLER, AZ — A karate instructor in Arizona is currently in jail after being accused, once again, of child molestation.
Scott Flood, aka Karate Scott, is a karate instructor contracted to teach karate to children in at least three Arizona schools. But police say that Flood wasn’t just empowering children with the ability to possibly protect themselves, they say he was also preying on them.
Flood was arrested on Friday and is currently in jail on two counts of child molestation after a 5-year-old girl at Childtime Learning Centers told police that Flood touched her vagina over her clothes on multiple occasions and then told her not to tell anyone.
It was later revealed that Flood seems to find trouble when he is around children. Back in 1999, police wanted to charge Flood with “furnishing obscene materials to minors,” but the investigation was dropped after the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office decided there wasn’t enough probable cause.
Then, in 2010, a 5-year-old girl at Sunrise Preschool told her mother that Flood said she was “gorgeous” and “a real cutie pie.” The police report went on to say that Flood kissed the girl on the cheek during karate class and “tickled her butt crack.” These accusations, even if true, did not meet the requirements for a child molestation charge so police tried to charge Flood with aggravated assault. But once again, the investigation was dropped after the city attorney said a conviction would be nearly impossible.…

MESA, AZ – A woman in Arizona has been accused of stabbing her husband in the back after the couple got into an argument over one of those dumbass Cosmo quizzes.
Noelle Clough, 23, called police on Monday saying that her husband was cut in the back and needed stitches. According to the police report, while she was on the phone she said her husband was choking her so she stabbed him.
When police arrived they found Clough’s husband suffering from a stab wound to the back. When police approached Clough, she informed them that she was a monster and asked to be shot and locked up forever. She told the responding officers that she and her husband had been drinking for a while when they began arguing over a Cosmo quiz and ex-lovers.
She said that the argument became more heated and that her husband threw two knives on the kitchen floor and instructed her to stab him. As he was walking away, she says she meant to cut her husband with a 4-inch blade paring knife, but accidentally stabbed him instead.…

Phoenix, AZ - Phoenix police arrested the mother of a 5-week-old baby who was found in a car seat in the middle of a city intersection. This after the mother reportedly forgot that she placed the infant on the roof of the car and drove off.
By all accounts, Catalina Clouser, 19, was already having a rough day. After reportedly smoking marijuana with her boyfriend and others at a city park, she and her boyfriend went on a 11PM beer run. They took her 5-week-old baby along for the ride. During that trip, Clouser’s boyfriend was pulled over and arrested for aggravated DUI.
Understandably distraught, our new mother Clouser drove her baby to her friend’s home to drown her sorrows in ‘one or two more bowls’ of marijuana. According to her friends, Clouser and her baby left around midnight. Police say that Clouser placed the baby’s car seat on the roof of her car and, forgetting about it, got in and drove off.
Despite having survived 5 full weeks with its mother already, the baby – surprisingly – did not manage to hold on through the turn at the corner of 45th Avenue and Cholla Street and ended up in the intersection.…
