JOHNSTOWN, Colo. – Two teens have been charged with killing a 7-year-old girl by beating her with imitations of moves from the “Mortal Kombat” video game. Lamar Roberts, 17, and Heather Trujillo, 16, were charged as adults on one count each of felony child abuse causing death. The teens were baby-sitting Trujillo’s half-sister, Zoe Garcia, 7, on Dec. 6 while the girl’s mother was at work. Zoe lost consciousness and stopped breathing after the teens hit, kicked and body-slammed her, imitating moves used in the video game, Mortal Kombat. An autopsy showed she had a broken wrist, more than 20 bruises, swelling of the brain, and bleeding in her neck muscles and under her spine. According to the affidavit, when the witness asked why they didn’t stop, he responded, “I don’t know; I was drunk.” If convicted, the teens could be sentenced to 48 years in prison.

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - A 4-year-old girl has died and her 2-year-old brother is in critical condition due to a possible drug overdose. the two young children were in the care of their aunt and another person who allegedly wanted the two children to go to sleep and take a nap. When the two kids would not go to sleep, they were allegedly given some type of pill to make them drowsy. Police found the 4-year-old girl dead inside her home Saturday after someone from the residence placed a 911 call for an ambulance. She had been dead for four to six hours. They also found the 2-year-old boy who appeared to be groggy and delusional. He was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital in critical condition.

Police questioned the two and now might be focusing on a single person of interest. More details as they are released, unless any of you locals may know more, that is.

Father Charged In Daughters Sledding Death

Peter and Madison 

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Peter Gecho has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with the death of his 9-year-old daughter, Madison Gecho. Just after dark on Jan 16th of this year, Peter was using his pickup truck to pull an inflatable raft containing his daughter and teenager, Daniel Garris. After driving down some country roads, the pulled into the snow-covered grounds of Thomas Jefferson Middle School. Peter then revved the engine and began to do "doughnuts", when the inflatable raft hit a low-lying brick wall at about 20 mph.

Garris was thrown over the wall and sustained minor injuries, but Madison was killed.This has led to tension between not only the investigators and prosecutors, but the community as well. Debates on why Gecho wasn't arrested after his daughter died with others who feel he was a loving, grieving father who should not face criminal prosecution.

12-Year-Old Girl In Pajamas Killed on Highway

Kansas City, Missouri - Brittany Jaques, 12, was walking in the freeway on 435 northbound under the 40 Highway overpass at around 3.am., when a woman on her way to work hit and killed her. No one, including the mother of Brittany, knows what she was doing out in tthe middle of the night, clad in her pajamas and sneakers, carrying a keychain with a single key on it.

Jaques was a 7th grader at Trailwood Elementary. She was a star student and had no past instances of sleep walking. The front door to her home was locked and the mother didn’t realize she was missing until she saw the morning news detailing the accident.

Courtney Curtis Ruins Homecoming

WESTCLIFFE, CO - During a homecoming parade on Saturday, Courtney Curtis, 15, tried to climb the stairs on one of the slow-moving floats being used in the parade. For unknown reasons, she slipped and fell under the trailer and the first set of tires stopped on top of her. She had been riding a float and tossing candy to spectators, but got off briefly when the procession turned around at the west end of Main Street. Courtney was alive when flown to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs for treatment, but later died. Classes have been canceled at Custer County High School, where Principal Barbara Jones stated that “Everyone knows everyone, and we are a very close-knit community. Courtney has siblings in preschool, the elementary school and the middle school. Her mom is a cook at the school. No one is untouched,

She also remarked that the school had just culminated a great homecoming week with fun, new activities that included a big community dinner and bonfire Thursday evening. Because of the accident, the homecoming football game with Crowley County and dance were canceled. “As I look back, some people commented it was the best homecoming ever, but Saturday was a horrible day. This will change the face of homecoming for years to come,” Jones said.

Teen Dies After Getting Caught in Car Wash

Wyoming, Mich. — A Goo Goo Car Wash employee was killed when he got entangled in the giant, automatic brushes. Ricardo Alberto Martinez, 18, was closing the car wash Friday night when a customer returned to have his vehicle washed again. After the vehicle entered the car wash, Martinez went inside and somehow became entangled, police said.

Looks like a hose or something got caught up in some of the bigger equipment around his feet and just pulled him in,” says Lieutenant Scott Gardner of the Wyoming Police Department.
