Teen Admits Reporting Robbery To Get Boyfriend Out Of Traffic StopChesterton, IN - An Indiana teen was arrested after phoning in a false report of an armed robbery in a failed attempt to get her boyfriend out of a traffic stop. Karley Fink, 19, was identified as the caller and arrested.

The saga began when Nicholas Petrovich, 19, was stopped by Sheriff’s police for a traffic infraction early Sunday. Petrovich – whom the officer described as acting nervously and smelling of marijuana – reportedly told the officer that he was on his way to meet his girlfriend at a nearby movie theater.

As the officer was calling for backup, the dispatcher informed him of an armed robbery of a woman reported to have just occurred in the parking lot of a nearby bank. The officer immediately ended the traffic stop and went to the bank. No victim was found.

The officer then reportedly went to the movie theater to which Petrovich had said he was driving to meet his girlfriend and found Petrovich in the parking lot waiting. The officer then asked for and received Petrovich’s girlfriend’s phone number.…
