Marland A. Anderson, 39 – whose stage name was “Sledge Hammer” and starred in such classics as Oh No! There’s a Negro in My Mom! 4 and Teenage Blackaholics - died Friday from unknown problems at a hospital.
LAPD Lt. Andy Neiman said that the incident reportedly began when – on April 8 – Anderson’s fiancé, 24-year-old Alexa Cruz, called police about an attempted suicide.
Paramedics and police showed up to Cruz’s apartment around 1:30 a.m., and took Anderson away in handcuffs, seemingly at his request, said Cruz – an adult film actress.
“He put his hands behind his back; he was very cooperative,” Cruz said. “They didn’t say anything about arrest. I think he just really wanted to get help.”
According to police, Anderson ‘became agitated’ during an ambulance ride to the hospital. According to reports, officers and paramedics struggled with Anderson in the back of the ambulance after Anderson had broken a handcuff that that was attached to a rail of the gurney he was on and tried to stand up.…Continue Reading
PALM BAY, Fl – Police have arrested a man after they say he got angry with his wife over her attending a concert, and attacked her with a box of Cheez-It snack crackers.
Police say 37-year-old Andy Gatz got into an argument with his wife on Monday after she attended an Earth Day concert. At the time of the confrontation, Gatz was under a court-ordered injunction to avoid having any contact with his wife.
During this argument, Gatz allegedly threw a box of Cheez-Its at her face, injuring her eye.
“A small square cracker apparently went into her right eye and caused her injury,” said Yvonne Martinez, spokeswoman for the Palm Bay Police Department.
Gatz had already left the home before police arrived, but turned himself in later. He told police he tossed a single Cheez-It cracker at his wife, not the entire box. He was arrested and charged with battery and violation of an injunction.
Gatz was allowed to leave jail on community supervision, but ordered to have no further contact with his wife.…Continue Reading
Here, Now – Thanks to all of you who showed up to last night’s last minute episode of The Pulpit of Doom with myself, Athena and PetePuma. You can listen to it here.
After a bit of a hiatus, the stars aligned and we were all able to record last night and figured we’d take advantage of it. We only scheduled for an hour, but could have easily gone for another as evident by our 45-minute discussion after we went offline.
In this episode, after 15 minutes explaining where we have been and why Jaded has been absent, we discussed the horrors of being pulled into a wood-chipper, laws created in the names of other people and the Peckerwoods who are convicted under them, whether taxpayers should be able to dictate if welfare recipients can buy cigarettes and lottery tickets, being killed by swans, meat pies stuffed with human flesh, and much more.
Afterwards, PetePuma signs off after his voice finally gives up the ghost so me and Athena talked for almost an hour about the current music scene and the horror movie genre.…Continue Reading
SAO PAULO, Brazil – Police have arrested three people who have confessed to murdering two women, eating parts of their bodies and then using their remains to make meat pies sold to neighbors, schools and hospitals.
Police were first alerted to 51-year-old Jorge “Sweeney Todd” Negroponte, his wife, Cristina da Silveira, and his mistress, Bruna da Silva, after they used the credit card of a missing woman.
According to reports, a 5-year-old girl living with the suspects showed police where the remains of two missing women, Alexandra Falcao, 20, and Gisele da Silva, 30, could be found buried in the backyard of the house.
After the three were picked up by police, they confessed to their crimes. They told police they were part of a cult they created called ”Cartel” that seeks to purify the world and reduce the population. They planned on doing this by killing three people a year. A spirit helped choose their victims for them, pointing out people who were bad. They would then lure the mark to their home by offering them a job as a nanny.…Continue Reading
LINCOLN PARK, MI – Remember the story we reported on back in March regarding the lottery winner who was still collecting state assistance money? Well, she has been charged with welfare fraud.
For those of you who missed it, 24-year-old Amanda Clayton won $1 million in the Michigan State Lottery. After taking the lump sum and paying taxes, Clayton used some of her $500,000 in pocketed winnings to buy a car and a new house in cash.
What she did not do, as required by Michigan law, was to notify the Michigan Department of Human Services of her newly acquired income and was still spending the state assistance money she was receiving.
Her crime was revealed to the world after a local news station tracked her down to ask her some questions about her actions. What followed was an impromptu, memorable interview in which Clayton demonstrated almost every negative stereotype bestowed upon anyone taking advantage of state assistance programs.
In the interview, which you can watch here, she stated that she didn’t feel she had done anything wrong by taking and spending the money because she wasn’t working, had bills to pay and now owned two houses.…Continue Reading
Okemah, OK – Two daycare workers in Oklahoma are facing child abuse charges after they were caught on tape feeding habanero hot sauce to a 13-month-old boy, then laughing at him as he cried in pain.
Rosie Hicks, 49, and Tracy Owens, 36, were arrested after Department of Human Services workers informed police that they had received a report of a boy being abused at the Muscogee Creek Nation Child Development Center.
Investigators were able to retrieve surveillance video from the day care that captured the two workers intentionally putting habanero sauce into a child’s lunch and then feeding it to him as he sat in a high chair. Shortly after the boy starts eating, he begins crying from the pain while Hicks can be seen laughing.
After both women were brought in to be interviewed by police, Owens would admit that she bought the bottle of habanero hot sauce at the request of Hicks and watched as her co-worker put some of the hot sauce into the boy’s lunch before Owens put the plate in front of the boy.…Continue Reading
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA – Police have arrested a man after he allegedly spray painted the face of a dog, and exposed two other dogs to some kind of household chemical.
Police were called to a home by the sister of 24-year-old Denis Vorobyov. She informed them that her brother had poisoned the family dogs and was threatening the family.
When police arrived at the residence they found a Boxer with its face and head spray painted. Two other dogs, a poodle and a Chihuahua, had been exposed to a household cleaner. Vorobyov had also wrapped rubber bands around each dog’s muzzle.
They also found Vorobyov as he tried fleeing the scene. He was jumping over a backyard fence while ditching a bag containing meth and a pipe. He did not go willingly as evident by police having to use a Taser on his ass before getting him in custody.
Vorobyov has been charged with threatening his father, maliciously maiming animals and possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Lord knows I enjoy my vices, but running this site and posting these types of stories have ensured I will never try meth or bath salts.…Continue Reading
Houston, TX – Three men have been convicted of hate crimes by a Houston federal jury after they beat a random black man at a downtown bus stop last year. A fourth man, 49-year-old Joseph Staggs, saw his case dismissed in return for testifying against the others.
Charles Cannon, 26, Michael McLaughlin, 40, and Brian Kerstetter, 32 are the first people in Houston to be convicted under the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, an act of Congress passed in 2009 that expanded existing United States federal hate crime laws.
The men beat Yondell Johnson as he stood waiting for a bus after spending the day with his daughter. One of the men asked Jackson for the time before a racial slur was used and they began beating him. After he was pulled to the ground, he was repeatedly kicked in the face and had his head stomped. When the men were arrested, McLaughlin and Cannon were heard yelling racial slurs at black officers.
The men claimed to be white supremacists and told police they were in the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang.…Continue Reading
Lakeland, FL - A man in Florida allegedly stole a dead woman’s ashes and told the dead woman’s mother that he was going to snort the remains.
Joseph Pointer, 51, briefly lived with Angela Speakman this month. Speakman believed he stole the remains of her sister after he moved out of the residence. Speakman’s sister died in a car accident in 2008 and she shared her sister’s remains with their parents.
Speakman’s mother says that Pointer drove by her home one day last week shouting, “I’ve got your dead daughter’s ashes and I’m going to snort them.”
Pointer may not have gotten around to snorting the deceased woman’s ashes but he was eventually arrested and charged with grand theft. He remains behind bars on $1, 000 bail.
Not surprisingly, this wouldn’t be the first story we have reported on here involving someone in Florida snorting someone’s remains. Last year, a teenager broke into a home and snorted the remains of the owner’s deceased father AND two Great Danes thinking the ashes were cocaine.…Continue Reading
UNION TOWNSHIP, OH – A 20-year-old woman was arrested the other day after police say she raped a teenage boy at knife-point.
Jamie Phillips has been charged with felonious assault, kidnapping, rape and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor after the parents of a 14-year-old boy contacted them and relayed an unbelievable story. According to them, Phillips forced their son into her home where she made him perform sex acts.
“This young juvenile victim walked out from visiting his mother to get something out of the car. When he walked outside, a neighbor, which he had been associated with simply by being her neighbor, approached the victim put a weapon to his throat and chest area, and ordered him back into the apartment,” said Sgt. Scott Blankenship with Union Township police.
The victim was not physically injured and was able to leave the home only after Phillips was distracted by a knock at her door. He told some friends about the encounter who encouraged him to inform his parents. Investigators found a knife inside Phillips’ residence, as well as other evidence supporting the teen’s story.…Continue Reading
Chicago, IL - A notice posted in a “Missed Connections” section of Craigslist last week purportedly seeks a man the poster had sex with at a Megadeth concert with the woman stating that she is now pregnant. Wait… That doesn’t sound like a missed connection to me!
Gigantour 2012 brought Megadeth, Motorhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil to the Chicago area on February 10. In a post entitled, “Did we hook up at the Megadeth/Motorhead concert?,” someone claiming to be a 28-year-old woman recently posted a message on Craigslist looking for the man she had sex with in a bathroom of Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom.
“Me: Blue hair, silver tube top, fishnets, Knee-high black biker boots. You: Red mohawk, black pentagram gauges, viper piercings,” the post began.
“I was grinding on you in the pit, then we went to the bathroom…”
“Anyway I’m pregnant.…Continue Reading
DES PLAINES, IL – A 37-year-old man in Illinois drowned in a condo’s retention pond after being attacked by one or more swans.
Anthony Hensley worked for Knox Swan and Dog LLC, a company that places swans or dogs in areas experiencing problems with the geese population. Hensley was at the Bay Colony Drive condos early Saturday morning, caring for swans they’d placed in their retention pond.
Residents say Hensley has been a regular visitor there for years, often seen on the pond in his kayak caring for the swans and feeding them. But tragedy struck that morning when one or more of the swans attacked him. No one knows exactly what prompted the attack — some thinking he just got too close to their nest or eggs — but whatever the reason, it resulted in Hensley’s kayak flipping over.
He was a good swimmer, but a combination of being fully clothed and wearing boots made it difficult for Hensley to keep his head above water. This was made especially laborious by the swans who continued their assault on Hensley as he tried to swim to shore.…Continue Reading
Houston, TX – Police have charged three people with abducting a woman, beating her and then setting her on fire.
According to court documents, 25-year-old Garrick “Joker” Hastings told a friend that he had killed a prostitute who had stole $6,000 from him. He claimed he had her kidnapped and taken to an abandoned trailer where he beat her with a metal rod, tied her up and then set her on fire.
Unfortunately, it turns out he wasn’t lying. However, he wasn’t entirely correct. Surprisingly, the woman somehow survived the attack, even though she suffered burns to 80 percent of her body, and had identified her attackers to police.
According to the victim’s aunt, her niece lived with her boyfriend and Hastings, an alleged drug dealer and gang member. She says that shortly after hearing her niece arguing with Hastings about drugs and money, the victim was abducted from a motel and taken to a trailer. She was reportedly held there by 37-year-old Anita Pena until Hastings showed up.
When Hastings arrived he, along with 37-year-old Thomas Martin, tied her up and beat her with an iron bar before setting her on fire and leaving her for dead.…Continue Reading
ROCKFORD, IL – As my co-workers can attest to, I do not iron. That’s what a wife is for. Or sometimes in my case, a dryer. It’s not that I don’t own one, as I love my grilled cheese sandwiches. I just don’t own an ironing board. I waved bye to it as my ex drove away in a U-haul packed with other things she owned that I paid for.
But I can honestly say that I if I did need an impromptu ironing board in the face of some kind of emergency, the last thing I would have ever thought of using would be a sleeping child’s back. A foot stool or wheel chock? Sure. But not an ironing board. Inexplicably, 43-year-old Elliot Moore didn’t have that same line of thinking when he used the back of an 18-month-old girl to iron a shirt.
Back in 2010, Moore was watching a woman’s two young children while she was at school. Because the 18-month-old was sleeping on his lap, Moore was experiencing difficulties ironing his work shirt.…Continue Reading
Brooklyn, OH - An Ohio father was killed by police after shooting and killing his wife and daughter – and critically wounded a second daughter – during the murdered daughter’s birthday party at Cracker Barrel. This after the wife told him that she was divorcing him.
According to police records, on Thursday evening Katherina (Kate) Allen, 42, brought her daughters Kerri and Kayla, both 10, to Cracker Barrel to celebrate Kerri’s birthday with their father Kevin Allen, 51,. Because of an “incident” that had occurred Easter Sunday, Kate Allen had left the family home with the girls to stay with a family friend. Kevin Allen arrived to the restaurant separately.
During the course of the dinner, Kate Allen reportedly called police saying she had just told her husband she wanted to end their marriage and that he had left the restaurant and was circling the parking lot. She added that she feared ‘he might become violent.’
Her fears were not unfounded. Three minutes later, Kevin Allen would walk back into Cracker Barrel carrying a loaded shotgun.…Continue Reading
Schifferstadt, DE - A German gynecologist lost his physician’s license after being found to have a over 35,000 photographs and several videos of his naked patients. He has since filed an appeal to get that license back.
The doctor – identified in the press only as 56-year-old Dr. med. Joachim K. – came to the attention of authorities last November after medical assistants alerted them to his collection of photographs. To date, almost 2,000 female patients have been identified as having been photographed during examinations at his office.
“He stands accused of secretly taking photos of female patients’ private body parts,” local state prosecutor Lothar Liebing said. “We now need to make clear to what extent he has done this and, of course, why he did this.”
As a result of the investigation, the doctor’s practice was closed in November. At the time of the suspension and closure, 700 women had reportedly agreed to press charges – fully 85% of the women identified from their pictures. It is presumed that the remaining 15% were simply bitter that the doctor had failed to capture their ‘best side.’
The doctor, who has not yet been charged, will appear before an administrative hearing on April 19 at which he will seek to overturn that suspension.…Continue Reading
Please give a big Dreamin’ Demon welcome to Wesley Strom, 41, and car thief extraordinaire. Wesley, or Wes, as we knew him, has always been an extremely proficient car thief and, while this is not his first time getting busted for this particular hobby, it is certainly the most spectacularly moronic.
His undoing began March 14th, when he inadvertently pocket-dialed 911. It didn’t take long for the dispatcher to realize that they were listening to a crime in progress. ”You pull up, I jump out,” Wes clearly states in the released 911 call. ”I’ll go jiggle a key; I’ll be done in…37 seconds.”
The call lasted for 44 minutes. Although cops were dispatched to the area, and a report of a stolen Toyota 4Runner pinpointed the location for them, police were unable to find both the 4Runner and the thieves.…Continue Reading
MURRIETA, CA – A man in California is facing attempted murder charges after being accused of duct taping his 76-year-old mother to a chair and cutting off her oxygen supply.
Police say on Sunday, 46-year-old Gregory A. Cornelius called a friend from The Colony retirement community where he lived with his elderly mother, JoAnn Cornelius, and informed him was going to kill her and then himself. The friend called police.
By time they arrived, they found Gregory had already assaulted his mom, who was suffering from bruises, cuts and broken bones. Gregory had also duct taped her to a chair and cut the tube to the oxygen tank she needs 24 hours a day to help with her respiratory problems. She was rushed to the hospital and was still there on Tuesday.
Gregory Cornelius was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, kidnapping, cruelty to a dependent adult and other charges, and was placed in jail on $1 million bail. Reports are that Gregory became angry at his mother on Sunday after finding she had not done his laundry.…Continue Reading
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rayshawn Laster pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his mother in the head last December, admitted doing so in a text to a neighbor and then provided updates on Facebook while on the run from police.
On December 30, police received a call from 49-year-old Brenda Laster-Taylor in regards to an argument she was having with her 26-year-old son, a known gang member. Laster had already fled the premises by time the officers arrived, but returned around 7:30 p.m. and shot his mother in the head while she talked on her cell phone.
He immediately admitted to shooting his mother in a text message to a neighbor that read, “i killed brenda.” After failing to carjack a man outside of a bar, he posted as series of status updates on Facebook using a cell phone.
“To all my solids n my real friends. Forever hustlin. Even after death. Solid 4 life,” one read. At around 9 p.m. an update stated, “I’m sorry for nothing. My journey has come to an end.”
At 10:20 p.m.…Continue Reading
Toledo, OH - An Ohio man is in the doghouse after being charged for abandoning six puppies zipped inside suitcase next to a dumpster. Howard Davis, 53, was identified using his name and address from the suitcase luggage tag.
A homeless man reportedly witnessed the dumping of the suitcase and the puppies’ mother.
“I saw a gentleman in a silver pick-up drop something near the dumpster.” said witness Scott Snyder. “When he took off, I see a female dog chasing him.”
Maddie, the puppies’ mother, made her way back to the dumpster and was described as ‘keeping guard of something.’ Snyder approached and reportedly found the suitcase with the 4-week-old English bulldog mix puppies inside.
The Lucas County Dog Warden responded. Officials said it did not take much time to track Davis down. Howard Davis’ name was on the suitcase luggage tag and Maddie was registered in his name.
“Apparently the gentleman who owned them was moving away, and it appears as though they didn’t fit into the move,” said John Dinon, the Director for the Toledo Area Humane Society.…Continue Reading
