SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman charged in her daughter’s death told police she didn’t call 911 for her dying daughter because her cell phone was low on minutes.

According to reports, 34-year-old Jessica Briones brought her 4-year-old daughter, Olivia, to a San Antonio police substation with severe head trauma.

She told officers that her daughter fell and hit her head four days ago but was now vomiting and would not wake up.

When asked why didn’t she call 911 immediately, Briones allegedly stated she couldn’t find her cell phone and that she was low on minutes.

Olivia would die the next day at the hospital, where doctors would find the girl had suffered injuries that were not consistent with a fall.

Along with multiple brain bleeds and severe brain swelling, Olivia also had a swollen nose, eight scars on the back of her head, a black eye, deflated left lung, a fractured vertebrae, a swollen wrist and two swollen arms, a bruised ankle and detached tissue in her upper lip from her gums.…

BRUSSELS – Police in Belgium believe a woman killed her two-year-old daughter by burning her alive on a charcoal grill.

On Sunday evening in the town of Zemst, neighbors called police after hearing a little girl screaming from inside a garage as smoke came from under the garage door.

When police arrived at the home, they found a 27-year-old woman cooking the body of her 2-year-old daughter on a charcoal grill. There was no saving the girl, as most of her body had already been fully charred.

“We both had to burn,” the woman told the arriving officers. “That was the only way we could go to heaven together.”

She also stated that the only way for a person’s soul to go to heaven was for their body to be cremated.

The mother was taken to the hospital due to severe carbon monoxide poisoning. She was later arrested in the hospital on suspicion of murder.

An autopsy on the girl has already been performed, so authorities know if the poor girl was burned alive, but the results of the report have not been made public at this time.…

JASPER, FL – Police have arrested a man who allegedly left his toddler outside overnight as Irma passed through the city.

The mother of the 19-month-old called police Sunday night to report her daughter was missing.

She said the girl’s father, 36-year-old Angelo Mitchell, left the house with the girl but returned a couple of hours later without her.

When questioned by police, an intoxicated Mitchell admitted he had been watching his daughter and had been drinking, but denied ever taking the girl out of the house. He said the girl was safe and probably with a family friend.

With Irma passing through the city, police dogs had problems locating the missing girl’s scent in the storm. It wouldn’t be until the next day that a neighbor found the girl lying in the yard of a home 400 to 500 yards away.

She was alive ( a rarity for this site) but her skin appeared purple and was covered in scratches and bug bites. Authorities believe the girl was left exposed to the storm’s rain and wind gusts the entire night.…

SACRAMENTO, CA – Police have arrested a man accused of killing three children in a Sacramento apartment during a domestic dispute.

There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding this story, but what I do know is that police were called to the Timbers Apartments on Wednesday night on a report of a domestic violence incident.

As police were on their way to the apartment, they received a second call informing them that there may be three dead children inside the apartment.

Once at the apartment, police found a woman who was “the victim of domestic abuse” and three of her children. Despite attempts by first-responders, all three of the children were pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman accused her husband, 33-year-old Robert Hodges, of murdering her children and that she was present when it happened.

Police immediately began searching Hodges, who had fled the scene on foot before police arrived. He was apprehended without incident a few hours later on I-80.

The manner in which the children died has not been released, but going by Sgt.…

WICHITA, KS – A couple have been arrested after the woman’s 3-year-old boy was found decomposing inside a block of concrete.

Miranda Miller, 36, and her boyfriend Stephen Bodine, 40, have been arrested after their ex-landlord found a cement structure inside the house they were evicted from that had a child’s body decomposing inside it.

Reports state that a landlord cleaning his property stumbled on what looked like a large cement coffin with a foul-smelling odor coming from it. He alerted police who had to bring in a forklift to remove it from the house.

Inside they would find the remains of what is, more than likely, 3-year-old Evan Brewer — who has been missing since July.

In March, Carlo Brewer contacted the Department of Children and Families claiming that his son was being abused by Miller. DCF opened an investigation and on July 6, the court had awarded a protection of abuse order for Carlo on his behalf of his son.

Incidentally, that is last day Evan was ever seen and Brewer has been trying to locate Evan ever since.…

ALLOWAY, NJ – A woman has been arrested after she passed out in the front seat of her car for hours and her 2-year-old daughter fatally injured herself while trying to escape her car seat.

Deanna Joseph, 39, called 911 around 9:45 p.m. to report her daughter was unresponsive. When police arrived at the scene they found the girl dead in her car seat in a car running in the driveway.

After questioning Joseph, police determined she had pulled into her driveway and passed out for hours with the car running and the heater running. During this time, her daughter struggled to get out of her car seat and may have accidentally hanged herself in the straps.

Salem County Prosecutor John T. Lenahan said the child had no obvious signs of blunt force trauma and the exact cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office. My guess it will be either asphyxiation, heat exhaustion or a combination of both.

Joseph was charged with second-degree child endangerment, charges that I am sure will be upgraded once an official cause of death is determined, and especially considering Joseph’s history of doing this exact, same thing multiple times in the past.…

GREENDALE, WI – A woman in Wisconsin has been arrested after she allegedly drugged her 10-year-old son before sexually assaulting him.

According to reports, the boy had stayed with his mother, 35-year-old Tara Gotovnik, for two nights in August.

When his father picked him up, the boy told his father he “never wanted to go back to Gotovnik’s residence again.”

When asked why, the boy told his father his mother had drugged and sexually assaulted him.

The boy’s father took him to police where he told investigators that after he drank a slushy made a friend of Gotovnik’s, he threw up. He said that’s when Gotovnik gave him a sleeping pill to help him go to sleep.

The pill had the opposite effect, the boy said, causing him to stay awake and feel sick. That’s when Gotovnik told him to come to the couch where she removed her shirt and had him perform a sex act.

According to the criminal complaint, Gotovnik then instructed the boy through the use of sex toys, telling him they could “go online and make money for doing it.”

A search warrant was executed at Gotovnik’s residence where police found sex toys and drugs. …

PHOENIX, AZ – This is a wonderful update to a story I first reported on back in 2011. One of the women responsible for the death of 10-year-old Ame Deal was just handed the death sentence.

For those of you who may not know of Ame and her horrific death, she was one of a dozen children living in a three-bedroom house with 10 adults.

These adults included Ame’s father, David Deal, her grandmother, Judith Deal, her aunt and legal guardian, Cynthia Stoltzmann,  Stoltzmann’s daughter, Sammantha, and Sammantha’s husband, John Allen.

If you want to get a more in-depth overview of Ame’s fucked up family dynamics, I suggest checking out the Wikipedia article on her murder. Honestly, it’s too much of a mess for me to type out and not the point of this article.

Anyway, all of the kids in the home were abused and neglected in some fashion, but Ame reportedly took the brunt of it. She was beaten, forced to crush aluminum cans barefoot, drink hot sauce, and was even once forced to eat dog shit.…

CHINLE, AZ – The 23-year-old woman who killed her 17-month-old daughter by stranding her in the desert will spend the next 20 years in prison.

Last September, Ashley Attson placed her daughter in a stroller, then pushed her into the desert on the Navajo Reservation. Attson left the poor girl there for four days and nights.

During those days  and nights that her daughter died alone in an absolutely horrendous fashion, Attson stayed busy.

“Over the next few days, she met friends for ice cream and posted pictures of herself on Facebook,” according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona. “When she returned, the child was dead.”

Two days after finding her daughter dead, Attson returned and buried the girl’s body in an animal hole.

What’s worse is that Attson only gained custody of the girl two months before she killed her. Her daughter had been in the care of tribal social services for most of her life after being born with meth in her system.

While handing her a 20 year prison sentence, Judge Campbell called the girl’s death an “intentional, cold-hearted, horrendous killing of an innocent child.”…

WYOMING, MI – Police have arrested a woman after they say she starved her infant to death as he sat strapped in a car seat inside her apartment.

On July 19, 22-year-old Lovily Johnson showed up at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital with the corpse of her six-month-old son, Noah Johnson.

“Upon arrival, Noah was clearly deceased and had been for some time,” Wyoming Detective Robert Meredith wrote in a probable cause affidavit.

Meredith also wrote that Johnson admitted to intentionally depriving Noah of food and left him strapped in a car seat for several days on the upper floor of her apartment with no air conditioning.

Johnson was arrested several hours later and charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse. Both charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison. She is being held without bond until her probable cause hearing on Aug. 2.

Johnson also as a 2-year-old daughter who has been placed under the supervision of the state.

If an infant starving to death while strapped in a car seat sounds familiar, you may be thinking of a similar case we reported on back in 2008.…

MARION COUNTY, FL – Police have arrested a woman on Saturday after she reportedly used 2-year-old boy as a punching bag in a grocery store parking lot.

Marion County Deputies were called to an Aldi’s Supermarket after several people witnessed 60-year-old Cindy Wood abusing a young boy.

They told deputies that they saw Wood pick up the boy by his hair in the parking lot and then punch him in the face several times with a closed fist.

She then threw the kid in the backseat of her car before driving off. Unfortunately for Wood, one of those witnesses was able to get her license plate number and give it to police.

Officers went to Wood’s home that same day and placed her under arrest on one count of child abuse. She was released from the Marion County Jail the following day on $2,000 bond.

The boy was found to be in good health aside from a small bruise on his cheek. The Department of Children and Families were notified and are investigating.…

TUCKER, GA – Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman after she left her one-year-old daughter in a hot car for six hours while she was getting her hair done.

Police say Dijanelle Fowler arrived at her hair appointment at 10:04AM on June 15, and left her daughter, Skylar, in the car with the air conditioning on.

A short time after entering the salon, her car died and Skylar would slowly cook to death as the temperatures outside reached 90 degrees.

At no time during the six hours Fowler was in the salon did she ever come out and check on her daughter.

Now here’s where things get even worse. After arriving at her car and finding her daughter dead, police believe she hid her daughter’s body with clothes and got a man from inside the salon to help her get her car started.

She then texted Skylar’s godfather and informed him she was going to go to the hospital because she was suffering severe headaches. During this time, Fowler was also Googling “seizure symptoms”.…
