Bruce Campbell, star of... wait... whats the point? You already know what Bruce Campbell is famous from. And if you don't... me listing his movies isn't going to help because you still won't know what hes famous from! So yea... Bruce Campbell recently sat down with the guys from the Toyfair Magazine and did a little Q&A. Its a fairly interesting read so I figured I'd share it with everyone:

How was My Name is Bruce pitched to you?
CAMPBELL: [Writer] Mark Verheiden and [Dark Horse Comics founder/producer] Mike Richardson got the idea from, years ago, a comic book about how Alan Ladd was kidnapped by pirates thinking he could help defeat some other pirates. So it was the same premise. We wanted to do a story where a small town in Oregon unleashes a horrible monster, and they're like, "Let's try and get Bruce Campbell to defeat the monster. Won't that be a good idea." And it turns out to be a massively horrible idea, because the real Bruce Campbell is a jerk and a moron. So the fable is how a movie hero has to go from jackass to hero. Mainly we're treating it as a comedy; it's not really a horror movie—it's a comedy with violence.

What can fans expect? Like how "Evil Dead" is it?
CAMPBELL: Well, this isn't even close. This is a bogus, parallel universe...[though I do use] some catch phrases. But I try and respect those movies; I'm not going to overuse my buddy Sam Raimi's trilogy. In fact, I'm trying to discourage that. I saw a bunch of early ads for My Name Is Bruce that all had chainsaws and I went, "Get that out of there." That's not what the movie's about.

Did you see the new Indiana Jones though and think, "He's still got it, maybe I should revisit Ash at 90 years old?"
CAMPBELL: Look, let's cut to the chase because you keep dancing around it: if you're talking about Ash coming back again, Sam Raimi has the best perspective. He says, "Look, I can go back and do Ash versus whoever whenever I want. I can do that when I'm 70; I don't have to do that now. Right now I'm on a fast, fat gravy train in Hollywood." And he's going to follow that, and he'll come back and do "Evil Dead" stuff when he's unemployed and living at the Old Director's Home.

When I put deodorant on now, I think of you.
CAMPBELL: Good. 'Cause you stink.

As the years go by, do people recognize you more from the Old Spice ads than your earlier work?
CAMPBELL: You know what's weird, I'm starting to get the, "Hey, you're in 'Burn Notice'...that old guy from 'Burn Notice' that needs a shave." ["Burn Notice"] is a good project. I spent pretty much the last eight years writing two books and directing a couple movies, and it's fun to get back to my day job as an actor. You work your ass off on a TV show. One hour episodic is the toughest gig in show business.

Is Dark Horse planning any My Name Is Bruce merchandise?
CAMPBELL: They are: there's a Bruce bust out there ready to go.

Good, I needed another ugly thing on my desk.
CAMPBELL: Yep, exactly! And then, we might have Guan Yu, the Chinese God of War, who is the main baddie. So who knows? A Bruce Campbell in a Hawaiian shirt? [laughs].
