Default Gunshot scars the new tattoos?

Anyone done this? Anyone believe it?

http://charleypatton.blogspot.com/20...s-gunshot.html

Is there a place at which self-adornment shades into just beyond the pale? And where is that place?

I call bullshit on this guy. Yeah, a waiting ambulance? And a simple through-and-through gunshot wound and you're in the hospital for "a few days"? That's a joke--you have to have intestines hanging out before you can get admitted to a hospital. And I bet you money my insurance wouldn't cover having myself shot.

Back to your question--yeah, I can see people (ahem, probably under 25) doing this to themselves just for the experience and scar. Less extreme than, say, the body mod guy turning himself into a cat.

My fave part about that is the "waiting ambulance". Yeahhhhh....."waiting" right? I went into labor and they told me to get into my car and drive myself when I dialed 911. Please!

I can see people in my generation (mid to late 20s) doing this. A gun shot or scars are always "look what happened to me" followed by an embellished story. Honestly, I can see people doing this or scarring themselves by accident then making up huge false stories about them. I caught a few people in a lie or two myself.

The written blog says it's in a warehouse in NYC. Apparently since it's in a warehouse it's TOTALLY true!

My fave comment today:
Quote:
So you saw that movie too and know it is complete fiction. Right? You know it was just a movie? You are not that stupid? Wait, maybe you are . . .
Maybe it is a movie?

I have a gunshot wound. I paid $300 for it. It hurt like shit and I went into shock. Went to the hospital and had a visit from the NYPD asking A LOT of questions. Good scar but the pain is no joke.
Yeah that's not the original writter. LOL Seems a little far fetched to me. Smells of urban legend. Enough facts to make it true, but too little facts to be completely true.

BUT I found this!

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...iendid=7808753

Look at that guy's Comments from "In the Hallway". It says

I'm considering a piece of gunshot wound art. Basically, there are warehouses you can go to in NYC where you can get shot or "tattooed". Obviously, this is a dangerous practice but it is kinda cool. Who hasn't wondered what it feels like to get shot? Extremely painful, but definitely thrilling. I'm considering a gunshot wound (9mm) in the shoulder, between the shoulder socket and the armpit on the left side. They give you a choice of an armor-piercing bullet (small entrance/exit wound) or a hollow-point (small entrance, large exit wound).

lmao
silly americans
The person that posted that is from Liverpool. Interesting considering I searched all over and the only TWO places that mention gunshots being used as "tattoos" are THAT website and THIS person here.

The person that posted that is a 17 yr old female from Liverpool, UK. If you check the rest of this "blog", there's some other stuff from the UK as well. Coincidence? Also look at the profile of the blogger, a lot of the same interests as the the 17 yr old.

Edit: Btw, type in google search "gunshot wound art" and there was a question also deleted off of Yahoo! Answers that was posted in the "Singapore" country. Seems like this is just a rumor.

I found a few references to the "free masons" as well. Nothing about the Egyptians - AT ALL. Just that one blogger mentions the Egyptians. I only see a few small notes to the Masons.

I'm absolutely positive that there's some extremely limited market for this kind of thing out there. I'm 25, in that age range, and the only people I know with gunshot wounds obtained them legitimately (i.e. no one got shot purposely). Still, a couple of these people have proudly displayed their scar as a symbol of savagry and triumph. You know, normal hoodrat bullshit.

That being said, I can't imagine this sort of thing gaining any wide acceptance, namely, because people like me exist. For every one person who oohs and ahhhs over your "accomplishment", there are two or three who will remind you what a retard you were for obtaining that particular scar/piercing/tattoo.

Of course, human beings never cease to amaze (reads: "disturb") me. Body carving has managed to gain a significant market, considering it's masochistic, fringe shit. (Warning: Graphic images.)

I'm judgmental of mutilation practices. Always have been, always will be. Call me old-fashioned. But, if I had a nickle for everyone I've met who regrets some tattoo/piercing/scar they got, I'd be able to buy myself something nice.

Most certainly, Scarification (google it) is nothing new to me though I can't really understand the point of it. Some of them do look nicely done but it isn't something I would want to go through, that's for sure.

I can't imagine a gunshot wound being done nor have I ever seen or heard anything like it. That's just a whole new level of extreme that doesn't seem worth it either.

I honestly think this is just some 17 yr old Liverpool chick that's bored and is trying to start a "new fad" with the "dumb americans". Just looking at the myspace and the bloggers information was enough for me to go BULLSHIT!

I only see people doing this just because of the "glory" rights. Some people (hoodrats as Athena calls them) are really into all of their scars and see them as a personal victory if they have more scars than someone else etc. Honestly, if this becomes a fad for real - I'm locking my kids up forever.

Scarification I've heard of before. I just don't understand it honestly. The body carving thing is just a little too out there for me, I guess.
