David Farnham Leaves Son in Car to Watch "The Dark Knight"
Quote:
SOUTH SALT LAKE — A father who went to a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight" and left his 2-year-old son in the car was arrested early Sunday.
David Farnham, 23, went to a movie at Century 16 Theaters, 125 E. 3300 South, late Saturday night. About 1:22 a.m. Sunday, other moviegoers noticed a young boy who had been left in a car in the theater's parking lot for a long time, said South Salt Lake police detective Gary Keller.
When police arrived to investigate, they discovered the boy was left alone in the car for more than two hours, Keller said. The boy was thirsty when officers arrived, but otherwise unharmed.
Farnham left the windows rolled up "so the child would not be taken out," according to a jail report. The temperature inside the car when the boy was removed was estimated to be 87 degrees, the jail report stated.
The boy was turned over to the Christmas Box House and later released to his mother, Keller said. The father, Farnham, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of second-degree felony child abuse.
So, your son's welfare came second to "OMG, I must be the first to see this movie..." IT'S A FUCKING MOVIE YOU ASSHOLE!
While you sat your ass in an air conditioned movie theatre your son baked in the car.

KUTV -- A South Salt Lake father will spend 30 days in jail for leaving his son in a hot car while he went to see a movie.
23-year-old David James Farnham pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment for leaving the two-year-old in the car while he watched a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight." The child was found by a passer-by who contacted police.
Farnham will also serve three years probation, pay a $1,500 Fine, and will not be allowed to have any unsupervised contact with his son.
Thats it? 30 days in jail, probation and a fine? Its just good fortune that the child was spotted and rescued. Any longer in that car and he could have died.
Im glad he wont be allowed to spend any unsupervised time with his son. He doesnt seem the type who can be bothered to stick around and raise a troublesome kiddie anyway, (impacts on his 'me-time' dontcha know), so I doubt the contact will go on for very long. The child will be better off with this fuckwit out of his life.
