Default Jenny Trover got Screwed By The City

You see, the fair city I live in at some point decided that it would be a brilliant idea to start putting round a bouts at interstate on/off ramps. According to reports, the wrong way driver was from out of the area and became confused on the round a bout, entering the interstate traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. NOW one of the local news networks set up apoll asking community members to vote about round a bouts. A little late, isn't it?. GREAT JOB, ASSHOLES!! There are pictures of the vehicles on the gjsentinel website, but I can't figure out how to post them.

A motorist died Monday after slamming head-on into a minivan driving the wrong way on Interstate 70.

Grand Junction police officer T.J. Rix said the victim — driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound on I-70 — died after the vehicle was hit by a Dodge Caravan which had entered eastbound traffic, headed west around 1:23 p.m.

The Caravan apparently entered I-70 at the 24 Road exit, going the wrong way, Rix said.

The collision happened around mile marker 28.

The driver killed in the Monte Carlo had not been identified through late Monday afternoon. Rix said a small child was extricated from the wreck and transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.

The female driver of the Caravan was also taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Eastbound traffic on I-70 was closed over two miles and expected to stay that way until at least 6 p.m. for investigation.

Rix on Monday afternoon said it’s “too early to tell” if drugs or alcohol were factors.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office has identified one of the victims involved in Monday's head on crash.

Officials say the driver of the red Monte Carlo was 26–year–old Jenny Trover from Fruita.

Police say Trover was driving eastbound on I–70 between 23 and 24 Roads with a 5 month old baby boy in the car when a silver Dodge Caravan entered the highway going the wrong way and crashed head on into her.

Trover was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the minivan died about four hours after the crash at St. Mary's Hospital, her identity is not being released at this time. The infant is in ICU at St. Mary's in critical condition with head injuries.

The baby was properly restrained.

The crash remains under investigation.

There are a couple of excellent photos at this link. The large photo at the bottom of the article somewhat shows one of 2 round a bouts at the onramp where the driver entered the interstate.

I don't see these round-a-bouts that is talked about. I just see an on ramp. What have I missed? When I think about "round-a-bouts" I think about the circles like they have in England (we have one here in the Michigan area and it is really damn annoying).

Next to the Kenworth sign, there are a circle of streetlights. This is the round a bout for the westbound lanes. There is an identical one on the eastbound side which is not visible in the photo.

ah, now I see it. Wow... those things are really annoying, I can't believe that the city/state would think that was a good place to put one.

I am totally amazed that a small child survived that. While he/she was properly restrained there had to be a ton of flying debris and huge force from the impact/crushing. I hope he/she recovers.

My husband encounters em a lot being a garbage truck driver. So he doesn't understand the confusion..now, me, not much for driving on the one interstate that has a round about in north eastern michigan. I get all kinds of confused, and the person ahead of us usually is too.

I don't care for em.
