St. Paul police arrested Scott Michael Turner, of St. Paul, on May 12, 2008 on suspicion of felony animal torture or cruelty to pet causing death. (Ramsey County sheriff's office)The boyfriend of a woman who was playing with her neighbor's 23-week-old kitten because it made her happy was charged today with throwing the cat against a wall, leading to its death, in St. Paul Monday.
The Ramsey County attorney's office charged Scott Michael Turner, 29, of St. Paul, with felony cruelty to an animal.
According to the complaint:
Police were called to an apartment at 1034 Suburban Avenue at 8:37 p.m. Monday and talked to a 25-year-old woman. She said her boyfriend, identified as Turner, had thrown the neighbor's cat, Nilla, against their apartment's wall.
The woman "said that the cat was hurt very badly and bleeding from its mouth," the complaint said. She said her neighbor allowed her to watch the cat occasionally because it made her happy.
The cat's owner took Nilla to the Animal Emergency Clinic in St. Paul. Nilla had severe head and chest hemorrhaging and had to be euthanized.
The incident started when Turner's girlfriend, who said she was six months pregnant with his child, and Turner got into an argument, said Peter Panos, St. Paul police spokesman. The woman wasn't injured.
Turner had been drinking, Panos said. When Turner and his girlfriend starting arguing, he told her to take the kitten back to the friend's apartment, Panos said. The woman refused and went into the kitchen. She then heard a loud thud, Panos said.
The woman looked around the corner and saw the kitten lying on the floor, next to the wall, and not moving, Panos said. Turner left their apartment and the woman called police.
Officers later found Turner outside his mother's home in the 400 block of West Maryland Avenue. Turner resisted arrest and police used a chemical agent to get him into custody, a police report said.
Turner has convictions for drug possession, obstructing legal process and receiving stolen property.

If she is pregnant and she takes him back, then I hope someone takes that baby. Because if he can do that to a kitten, he WILL do that to a sweet baby.

She is holding a baby in the photo. WTF? Is that hers too? If so, where was the little child while her boyfriend was getting drunk and murdering a kitten?
Okay... Count down... 6 months pregnant, profile says "Proud Parent" which means she probably does have another child... how long before we hear about one of those kids being hurt by this jackass? Any bet takers?

According to her interview in the video she says she asked him if that had been their baby would he have done that and he told her yes. She also said that this does not mean he's always going to be a bad person. If she takes him back she needs a lobotomy.

Time and time again it has been shown that most violent offenders' first 'victims' were animals. You hear that they were the ones that kicked the dogs when they got pissed.
We really need stiffer penalties for people that hurt animals.

I am 100% sure that sick bastard will hurt the baby. Anyone harm animals, not to be trust with children.
Quote of the day from the scum sucking animal abusing asshole:
"She made me mad, and I accidentally threw it against the wall."
An update from the Pioneer Press:
St. Paul police arrested Scott Michael Turner, DOB 5/5/79, of St. Paul, on 5/12/08 on suspicion of felony animal torture or cruelty to pet causing death. Turner was allegedly arguing with his girlfriend in their St. Paul apartment when he picked up a neighbor's kitten she was playing with and threw it against the wall. The kitten had to be euthanized a short time later. Playing with the kitten made her happy. But it apparently made her boyfriend angry.
Scott Michael Turner is accused of throwing the kitten, named Nilla, against a wall in a St. Paul apartment during an argument with his pregnant girlfriend. The 23-week-old kitten died.
"I guess he thought she was paying more attention to the cat than to him," said Lisa Lewis, the neighbor who owned the cat.
She said that when she confronted Turner, whom prosecutors charged with felony animal cruelty Tuesday, he said: "She made me mad, and I accidentally threw it against the wall."
The cat had a fractured skull and a swollen brain, and its left eye had popped out of its socket, Lewis said. Nilla had to be euthanized.
"You don't do that accidentally with that much force," Lewis said.
Turner's 25-year-old girlfriend — who police said is six months pregnant with his child — said Lewis let her watch Nilla occasionally "because it made her happy," the complaint said.
"The strategic use of this animal to get at his girlfriend is pathological," Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner said. "A 23-week-old kitten — what could be sweeter, and (what could) frighten his girlfriend more than abusing that innocent kitten? A crime like this, an act like this, against a pet, basically screams, 'I could do this to you.' "
Police were called at 8:37 p.m. Monday, after Turner's girlfriend and Turner got into an argument at their apartment at 1034 Suburban Ave.,
said Peter Panos, St. Paul police spokesman. The woman, who wasn't identified in the complaint, wasn't injured.

The woman looked around the corner and saw the kitten lying motionless on the floor, next to the wall, Panos said. Turner left the apartment, and the woman called police.
Lewis said she found her cat in Turner's apartment.
"She's laying there, blood coming out of her mouth," she said. "She's laying there twitching."
Lewis said she got Nilla to keep her dog, a Pomeranian-poodle mix, company. She's now left with a $244 veterinary bill and a cat that had to be put to sleep, and "my dog's walking around depressed."
"It was totally unprovoked. What kind of animal does that?" she asked of Turner's behavior.
Officers later found Turner outside his mother's home in the 400 block of West Maryland Avenue. He resisted arrest, and police used a chemical agent to get him into custody, a police report said.
Turner, who is being held in the Ramsey County Jail, has convictions for drug possession, obstructing legal process and receiving stolen property. He declined a Pioneer Press interview request.
A summit on the link between animal and domestic abuse was held in St. Paul last year, and a coalition began meeting regularly on the subject in January, said Jane Hunt, program coordinator for Partners for Violence Prevention.
The St. Paul organization has been convening the meetings with representatives from St. Paul police, the Ramsey County attorney's office, the Humane Society of the United States, the Animal Humane Association and others.
"The whole area has really been getting a lot more attention," Hunt said. "People who work in battered women's shelters have known this for a long time. I used to work with children in shelters, and I'd hear the horror stories of how their pets were killed in front of them. It's an incredibly powerful tool to silence a woman or a child or to get them to do what they want."
St. Paul police now ask domestic violence victims whether pets are being abused in their homes, said Cmdr. Shari Gray, who heads the department's family violence unit. The coalition is working to get veterinarians to ask questions when they see an abused animal, to find out if there also may be human abuse, Gray said.

First a kitten. Then a baby? That's what Ramsey County District Judge Margaret Marrinan wondered aloud as she prepared to sentence Scott Michael Turner, of St. Paul, to seven months in jail for throwing a cat against a wall during an argument with his pregnant girlfriend.
The cat, Nilla, was so severely injured it had to be euthanized.
Turner, 29, was convicted of felony animal cruelty in the case. Now, he is the father of an infant boy.
"This is my greatest fear," Marrinan told Turner. "That you will be back in this court as a child abuser, or a person who will kill a child."
Turner was angry that DuPaul was paying more attention to the cat than she was to him, Lewis testified at trial.
Turner hurled the kitten against the wall, leaving it twitching and bleeding from its mouth. He maintained during trial that the cat had fallen off his shoulder and that he accidentally stepped on it.
The judge sentenced Turner to 15 months in prison but stayed that sentence as long as he remains on good behavior when he is out of jail. He will serve the seven months in jail, then will be on probation for four years.

The St. Paul man convicted of throwing a cat against a wall in a fight with his girlfriend was sentenced to probation in the related crime of making terroristic threats against the cat's owner.
Scott Michael Turner, 29, tried to withdraw his guilty plea to the terroristic threats charge.
When Ramsey County District Judge Rosanne Nathanson asked him why, he said, "Well, the reason why is 'cause I didn't do it... She said throughout the summer I was making comments and threatening her, and I wasn't."
While that case was pending, Turner told Lewis that she'd better not testify against him, or "the same thing that happened to your cat can happen to you," according to the criminal complaint.
The judge denied Turner's request to withdraw his plea.
When she started to explain her reasoning, Turner interrupted, saying, "Alright, whatever." Nathanson said she'd appreciate it if he let her continue.
Turner has about two months yet to serve on the animal cruelty conviction. He will then be on probation for five years. If he misbehaves on probation, he could serve 18 months.
"This is my greatest fear," Marrinan told Turner. "That you will be back in this court as a child abuser, or a person who will kill a child."

Oh my gosh! I can't believe that he said this -- especially in light of what the County Attorney said previously. Why on earth did he get this pathetic sentence? I hope this GF takes that baby and gets as far away from him as she can. I won't be surprised to see this guy's name on D'D again in the future. He obviously doesn't have any respect for women. He even interrupted the judge. That alone would have made me reassess the sentence I was handing out if I had been in her shoes!

A man convicted of throwing a cat against a wall during a fight with his girlfriend, then threatening the cat's owner, is in trouble again — this time for an alleged domestic assault.
Jennifer DuPaul called 911 from the Lake Como area on Tuesday to report she was assaulted by her boyfriend, Scott Michael Turner, 30, according to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court. Turner was charged with a gross misdemeanor count of domestic assault.
DuPaul is the same woman Turner was fighting with when he threw the cat, Nilla, injuring it so badly it had to be put to sleep.
The complaint gives the following details:
DuPaul told police she was trying to get Turner out of the car because she felt threatened by him. They argued, and he punched her with a closed fist on the right side of her mouth. DuPaul was taken to Regions Hospital, where two stitches were required to sew a gash inside her cheek.
The couple's 8-month-old son was in the car when the alleged assault occurred.
During the trial on the animal cruelty charge, DuPaul showed up with black eyes, but asked the judge to lift a no-contact order barring Turner from having contact with her.
At Turner's sentencing, Judge Margaret Marrinan said her "greatest fear" was that he would go on to abuse the couple's baby.
"This is my greatest fear," Marrinan told Turner. "That you will be back in this court as a child abuser, or a person who will kill a child."

LOL Had to quote myself because I haven't changed my thinking. He's a shit-for-brains and the judge is a fool.

This is on her her myspace page. Her last log on was 5/11/09.
I hope this means she is taking the child far away but I doubt it. We'll be reading about what he has done to the child next. The court needs to take the child away from her now. She is as crazy as he is.
