GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5) – A man police said posed as a hypnotist and psychotherapist was behind bars Wednesday and charged with rape. Gwinnett County police said Carmine Baffa raped two people, including a 13-year-old girl.

Gwinnett police arrested 52-year-old Carmine Edmund Baffa of Gainesville on April 9.

An investigation indicated Baffa posed as a hypnotist and psychotherapist and in the past, had hosted seminars both nationally and locally.

Police said Baffa also offered individual coaching sessions with adults and children.

Baffa conducted therapy sessions out of his former Lawrenceville home. That home is where a 13-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman said Baffa raped them.

Baffa has been charged with rape, sexual assault, child molestation, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
