Matthew Suter Murdered His Stepdad

Dunn, N.C. — Dunn police arrested a 17-year-old man Sunday night and charged him with murdering his stepfather.

Matthew Logan Suter is accused of shooting Edward Lancaster, 33, at their house at 112-A Fairfield Circle around 8:30 p.m.

Emergency crews took Lancaster to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police charged Matthew Suter with second-degree murder and held him at the Harnett County Law Enforcement Center under a $150,000 secured bond.

His first court appearance was scheduled for Monday in Lillington District Court.
