Investigators say a woman lied about being pregnant with twins... Faked their deaths... and even put on a funeral for the twins.
She and her husband are also charged with locking their 10-year-old son in a small wooden box for punishment.
Leslie and Christopher Wilfred live with their 5 young children, in a house at 308 Academy Drive.On Friday they were both arrested on a total of 6 counts of cruelty to children.
Investigators say Leslie Wilfred had everyone fooled when she announced a few months ago she was pregnant with twins. When she hit 22 weeks she claimed she gave birth early, and the babies were stillborn.
On November 13th, she held a funeral service, with fake sonograms and all at Rose City Pentecostal Church for the deceased twins. Only, the twins never existed.
"She's been charged with 5 counts of cruelty to children. It comes from the mental aspect, mentally abusing the children. She had talked to her children about having these babies, and really built it up," says Captain John Richards with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office.
The children were traumatized, but the family abuse goes even further.
"We discovered a wooden box that had been constructed in the bottom of a closet where they would, on occasion, put one of their children in for behavioral purposes," says Capt. Richards.
Investigators say the box is about 2x2 square feet.
"It had a pillow in there and blankets in there, and there was writing on the walls inside the box that he had written in anger toward his parents," says Capt. Richards.
Christopher Wilfred was released on bond. Leslie Wilfred was denied bond and is still in jail.
Investigators are still working this case that they say even shocked them.
How old are they? At first, I thought it said 10 month old but when he said he wrote stuff on it about his parents, I thought, wait, a baby can't write. Then I read that they put a 10 year old in a 2x2 wooden box. A TEN YEAR OLD!! Man, he must be tiny. I know a 10 year old who is 5 feet. I'm 4'11 and can't even curl up in a 2x2 position. I just hope their kids end up o.k.
As far as I can tell none of the children are Christophers and they all came from a different father. Mabye even more than one. ( not that there is anything wrong with haveing multible sperm doners ). The online wedding planner thingy says these 2 were married on June 23, 2007, so thats a year and a half. Chris had to have made the box, but I would guess it was Looney Leslie idea.
Because of the other police incedents about the 10 year old, I would guess he is OOD or what ever thats called, There is no dought he was a handfull but come on, they treat people better at gutamono bay than this. Not much better, but he is a 10 year old child for fucks sake.

Public record shows Mrs. Wilfred did have a count of child abuse filed against her in the 1990s, but the charge was later dismissed.

I was trying to figure out what kid was being locked up and if he was the only one. If you look at the wedding thingy and the Myspace pages associated with Christopher Wilfred, it looks like Leslie, brought 4 kids into the marriage and Chris brought in one.

Cole has a pict of his father on his Myspace and calls him an absentee father. There is a pict of Dad and 4 kids and that matches the wedding list.
So that makes the boy who was being locked up Noah Chancey. or *noah* on chris's myspace page.
Because of what the police said , it leads me to believe that Noah Chancey was the only one spending time in the "Hole". Poor little guy.
Note: I just guessed at the kids age based upon what facts I had.

Wow, Thats to sad to hear. And definitly not right in any way, shape or form. My Grandson is named Noah as well. So it kind of makes me feel connected a bit. And hurts my heart to hear how he was treated. I hope everything works out for him and he goes some were were he will be loved and helped. And can be just a little boy again.
