State probing return of children to accused Lake Charles mom
Quote:
LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Calcasieu Parish District Attorney John DeRosier says his office tried to slow down a state office’s efforts to return two children to a mother facing cruelty charges.
The woman, Jasmine Stanley, 22, now is facing a new cruelty charge involving another child. Stanley was arrested last week after her 18-month-old daughter was hospitalized with head injuries.
Stanley was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Her bond was set at $200,000. She was granted a court-appointed attorney on Tuesday.
Stanley’s twins, a daughter and son, were in state custody from 2007 until the state Office of Community Services in Lake Charles recommended that they be returned to her in December.
At that time, Stanley faced five counts of cruelty to a juvenile related to injuries to the children in 2007. Those counts are still pending.
“My ADA (assistant district attorney) who was handling this particular case tried to slow down the process when in December she got her twins back. The ADA told them, ’Look, we have a problem here.’ They were still bound and determined to reunite momma with these children. It was their strong recommendation. Look at what happened, and this is not the first time,” DeRosier said.
I'm glad the ADA has some common sense at least. But fuck everyone else involved. It's on their heads. They are just as responsible. There is no rehabilitating these people. Just because a woman gives birth to a child doesn't mean they are fit to have them. (This is in reference to asshats featured here) Why do they feel the need to give them back? I hope they are proud of themselves.

'Still pending', and yet she got the kids in question handed back to her!!!
I bet she couldnt believe she got them back, and in her twisted mind it meant she had got away with it and was untouchable, able to manipulate and best the 'professionals'. Thats just a green light for fucktards like her to do it again. And again. And again. And each time take it a little bit further, until the next thing you know there is another dead child, and CPS are looking at the blood on their hands and wondering what went wrong.

LAKE CHARLES, La. — A psychiatrist says he has no reason to question the sanity of a Lake Charles woman accused of abusing some of her four children.

Dr. James Anderson told a state judge on Wednesday that 22-year-old Jasmine Stanley is sane and able to assist in her defense against at least three counts of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
Judge David Ritchie will rule on Stanley’s sanity after Dr. Charles Robertson presents his findings on April 22.
Robertson was unable to testify Wednesday because of medical reasons.
Stanley was arrested last month for allegedly abusing her 18-month-old daughter and was arrested this month in connection with injuries to another children.
