    The Lambeth Walk (Dancing Nazis)

    The Lambeth Walk was originated in a stage show. The lower class characters do the "Lambeth Walk," which is an exaggerated strut to show how much better life is when you're not rich. It became a dance craze.

    The Nazis condemned the dance as degenerate. So Allied newsreel editors put together this reel of Nazis dancing to the Lambert Walk. When Goebbels saw it, he ran from the screening room in fury.

    It's pretty funny.

    I think the two tight close-ups of young men were lifted from "Triumph of the Will."

    I wonder if Hitler saw this and how loudly he went off!

    Hitler was very interested in propaganda and his image. But I suspect this was kept carefully hidden from him.
