According to the Sheriff's Department, Herbert Dean Hollander, 40, is facing six sex-related felony charges.
An investigation started when a ten year old girl, provided information to deputies that she was being sexually assaulted. According to the victim, the assaults began in the Fall of 2007 when the victim was nine years old and continued until the Fall of 2008 when the child was ten years old.
Detectives conducted several follow-up interviews and gathered medical findings that enabled them to compile probable cause to seek felony Arrest Warrants for Herbert Dean Hollander.
The Forensic interview of one of the children, started an investigation into allegations into the juvenile child being sexually assaulted by (Also Known As "Herbie" Hollander).
The Iredell County Department of Social Services took the girl and three other children into protective custody.
Hollander is facing:
- Two counts each of First Degree Rape of a Child, each being a Class (B-1) Felony
- Two counts each of First Degree Sex Offense With a Child, each a Class (B-1) Felony
- Two counts each of Taking Indecent Liberties With a Child, each a Class (F) Felony
He was placed in the Iredell County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
Also as a result of their investigation, detectives also arrested Tammy Marie Timm, 34, for two Counts each of Felony Child Abuse - Sexual Act each being a Class (E) Felony
Timm was placed in the Iredell County Jail under a $50,000 secured Bond.
