ok, special - you gotta feel better when i tell you how my day started!

blew my naturally frizzy hair out straight today. i gotta either make it straight or make it curly each day & today went for straaight.

um - its raining today. didnt start raining til i was already mid-bus to office. and - i left my briefcase in my car - which is where my umbrella is.

i ran to get coffee hoping rain would lessen while i was in store which was close to bus stop. when i got out it was pouring buckets.

so vision of me in a suit running 2 blocks in high heel boots with a cup of coffee in each hand.

and now i look like a drowned rat - on its way to turning into a massive afro (like clowns wear).

im running around looking for a blow dryer. one of the secretaries hass one but she's not in yet & my hair is getting bigger and higher each fucking second.

im so mad!!! my hair looked great this morning & now i look like bozo!!

HAHAHAHAH (breathe) HAHAHAHAHA....now I am only laughing because I have so been there! I laughed out loud in empathy. Usually I put tons of product in my hair on a wet day....and hope for the best. NEVER try to blow dry straighten your hair on a wet day....

QUICK grab a rubber band...and pull it into a knot.....

OR...go to the rest room, if you wet your hands and run them over and through your hair, just to dampen it, you will reactivate any product you used and should be able to tame it.....GOOD LUCK

Witzah, thank God for the secretary! I always keep a small flat iron in my purse! My hair is short right now, but I have the thickest hair in recorded history and without a flat iron, i'd have a giant bush on my head!!

HEY! I'm a mother-in-law!! Luckily my son/daughter-in-laws get along with me just fine. (at least I think so). I'm on my way to spend 2 weeks with one and he paid my way so I think it's ok... I surely don't want to be the butt of any MIL jokes.

I wonder how cindy feels now......knowing casevil threw Caylee in the swamp, hoping the gaiters would eat her....

Am I too late to share an in-law horror story? My in-laws moved in with us this past summer (they left California to be closer to their son (my husband, 27, and dragged their other son (18) with them). I was pissed because I was due with my daughter in August and I didn't want people in the guest room that I was converting to the nursery, and my husband promised they'd be out in time for me to set everything up.
They hadn't even been in my house for a week when my mother-in-law tells me that my kitchen table is too uncomforable for her and her husband. So when she offers to buy us a new one, my husband thanked her and we went to go look at furniture (I liked it, I had just recovered the chairs in a beautiful silk), but I figured I'd just be thankful for a nice gift. We get to the store, and she chooses a counter-height table in a color that did not match anything else I wanted. Then she got my phone out of my purse and called one of my Army buddies who has a truck (I guess my husband told her who?) and told him to come pick up the table and drop it by our house.
They didn't move out until my daughter was a month old. And even after they moved out, they didn't take their stuff out of the guest bedroom. I got to stack it up by the front door just so I could paint the room.
They had a dish of grease inside the oven that dripped onto the heating element. Next time I started to preheat the oven, guess what. Oven Fire! (My husband had already left for the deployment, otherwise he would have told them to buy us a new oven, but because it was just me they didn't say a damn thing.)
My father-in-law has health problems and he's not very steady on his feet. I think it's time for him to start sitting to pee, because I had to clean the bathroom and there were pee stains all around the toilet after they moved out.
My mother-in-law asks my 2 year old son who he loves best, me or her. She tells him that she knows he wants to come live with her because I'm a mean mommy who beats him (he's gotten a spanking when he refused to stay in time out, and she disapproves of him being spanked, though my husband will tell you that she used to beat the $#!^ out of him and his brother when they were growing up).
Worst of all? She's insanely racist. They're hispanic, and she makes comments about how all Hispanic men are marrying white women (said disdainfully). She lectured me on the canned refried beans in the cabinet, saying I'm turning her son into a "white man." She's said that she doesn't believe our son is really my husband's. He has light brown hair and blue eyes, I have dark blonde hair and blue eyes (One of my husband's grandparents on each side had blonde hair and blue or green eyes). She told my husband that maybe this baby (our daughter who was just born) would look like him. Now she's complaining the she's turning too white (she has the same tan skin and blue eyes that her brother has, but she's got dark brown hair) because she has gotten a little more pale since her birth.
Okay, sorry for venting. Just had to share my monster-in-law drama. I'm trying to ignore it while my husband is deployed, because I know she's sending him emails complaining about me and I don't want to add to his headache. :)

My husband and I had worked 2 years to get our frontyard done the way we wanted. Worked on it totally ourselves. I wanted to share a pic showing what the yard looked like before and after.
I must say........I love my new kitchen.......I replaced my cadillac with the same one I had. Life is almost completely back to normal.

Believe it or not Cladd he walked away with only a bump on his head. It was a rainy night and he was racing another car. He had to try out the new turbo engine he had installed the day before he lost it on a curve about 500 ft from my house and just came in sideways. Oh....we caught him.....the whole ordeal was a nightmare. dealing with his insurance co, my homeowner ins, my mortgage company because of the amount of damage. Unfortunately the insurances only paid for about 70% if the damage everything else we had to come up with.
Thanks for the compliment on the frontyard. we worked our ass off this summer and got it back together. My husband handbuilt the english phonebooth. it was in a million pieces....he saved everyone of them and rebuilt the phonebooth.....lol he hit the fence and yard so hard that we had stuff from the frontyard land in our backyard.
