Baby left in flower bed at golf course

The Butte County District Attorney's Office is interviewing the mother and father of a baby boy found abandoned Monday on a Chico golf course. The baby boy, who is approximately 6 to 9 months old, was found at the Butte Creek Country Club early Monday afternoon.

A golfer found him in a flower bed between the 12th and 13th holes. The baby was placed in the care of Butte County Children's Services. The father of the child, who was apprently unaware his son had been abandoned, called authorities after seeing his son's picture on the news.

Investigators say the father indicated the child was in the care of the boy's mother on Monday. The mother has since been located and the parents are being questioned by investigators with the Special Victims Unit of the DA's office.

No further details regarding the names of the parents or the baby boy, nor how the child ended up at the golf course are being released at this time.

how tragic - but how fucking stupid. it's always stupid to abandon a child like this - but even more so when you have a remotely involved or interested father. umm, like they aren't gonna find you, woman!

fortunately, the baby was found alive before they found her - but in any event how could she do this without thinking she'd quickly be identified? (i know - she obviously didn't think). sigh.

perhaps there is some non-heinous explanation, but given the boy was found tucked away on a golf course i'm not particularly hopeful about that possibility.

This is right down the road from my house a few miles. Mama needs a good ass whipping at the least. It has been raining since Friday so the ground had to be wet and muddy. It was also colder than normal yesterday.

I'm kinda suspicious about this case. I mean, I can't see how the mother could be stupid enough to abandon a living child in a golf course where it is likely the child would be found and his parents' identified. Not that I'm exonerating the parents, after all who loses a baby? But something very fishy is going on here.

That sweet innocent baby! Thank goodness the baby is okay. Wonder if Mom is trying to get back at Dad. Who knows anymore how people think there are so many with fucked up thinking especially the ones who abandon, abuse, kill, not feed, etc. babies/children.

I was going to write something cruel and unusual, similar to scanning a baby's non-existent bar code...but I figured yelling "FORE!!!!!!!!!!!!" after smoking a baby with a golf club would be rather...tasteless.

You know i have been golfing a number of times, and I've never seen anyone take a baby along. I wouldn't think they allow it.
