Teen Kidnapping and Rape from light rail

Article from the Baltimore Sun. May you sick bastards get raped often in prison.

    Kidnap details unsealed
Documents describe abduction, robbery, assault of two teens
    By Nick Madigan
    October 24, 2008
Court documents unsealed yesterday reveal that a 17-year-old kidnapping victim was forced at gunpoint into the trunk of his car before he and his female companion, who was later raped, were driven to several banks to withdraw money from ATMs.

The charging documents describe in previously unavailable detail the events surrounding the Oct. 10 abduction of two teenagers at a light-rail station in Timonium for which two men have been charged.

The documents say that Brian Tyrone Scott, 18, who surrendered at a Baltimore County police station Saturday evening, told investigators that his accomplice was Kiheem Malik Taylor, 22, who was arrested the next day at his home in Baltimore. Both are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

After approaching the victims' car, the men - one of whom wore a mask and carried a handgun - told its occupants "to give them all their money," according to the charges. "The male victim gave the suspects approximately $70 in cash," the documents say, before he was ordered into the trunk and the girl - who is also 17 - was forced into the back seat. They stopped at "different banks in Baltimore County and Baltimore City to withdraw money," after which, the police statements say, the suspects ordered the woman to undress.

Then, according to the documents, the victims were taken to a park in Baltimore's Cherry Hill neighborhood, where the woman was forced to perform a sex act and was then raped. The documents describe the couple being dropped off there while the suspects fled in the young man's 2002 Honda Civic. The victims flagged down a Baltimore police officer and were taken to Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The court documents did not identify them.

Investigators said both the victims' cell phones - which the suspects had stolen - were used to make calls to a dorm room at Coppin State University. Further investigation traced those calls to Scott.

Scott was charged with first-degree rape, armed carjacking, a first-degree sex offense and two counts of kidnapping and armed robbery. Taylor was charged with armed carjacking, petty theft, felony use of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime and two counts of kidnapping, armed robbery and first-degree assault.

The two men are scheduled to appear at a preliminary court hearing Nov. 14.

Those poor kids! I feel very badly for them. To be in the trunk and know (probably) that your GF is being raped is just awful. But please people let them shoot you! Do not get into a car and go to a second location. I am surprised that they weren't killed.

Thank you Nell. No one should ever let someone take you to a second location, ever! That's where you get raped and killed. Most attackers will not shoot or kill someone in a more public place. That's WHY they take you to a secondary location, For pete's sake, I thought most people knew this.

God, those poor kids, This is horrifying. I'm so glad they caught those bastards.

A 23-year-old Baltimore man was found guilty Wednesday of kidnapping two teenagers last year at a light-rail station in Timonium and raping the female victim, crimes the judge in the Baltimore County Circuit Court case called part of "a night of terror."

In his decision, Judge Robert N. Dugan relied heavily on a taped jailhouse phone call that Kiheem Malik Taylor made to an ex-girlfriend, in which the defendant essentially implicated himself in the Oct. 10 sexual assault, according to the judge. Dugan said the phone call was "overwhelming, damning evidence of [Taylor's] guilt."

It was the first time prosecutors used a taped conversation from the Baltimore County Detention Center since a change in policy about a year ago that allowed the county to record all inmates' outgoing phone calls. Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott D. Shellenberger helped prosecute the case, saying Taylor's call to an ex-girlfriend "was everything."

"Without the phone call, we would have had to make a deal with the other defendant" in the case, Brian Tyrone Scott, said Shellenberger. Scott is scheduled to go on trial the second week of September.

In the phone conversation, Taylor and the ex-girlfriend, who testified in the weeklong trial along with both victims, discussed what constituted a sexual assault, with the woman telling Taylor that all it takes is penetration, according to court testimony. Taylor's part of the conversation was played in court Wednesday during prosecutors' closing arguments.

    [...]

Taylor was also convicted of multiple counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and carjacking. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 28, and he could face up to two life sentences and an additional 140 years in prison, prosecutors said.

Both of the victims are graduating from high school and are planning to leave the state for school in the fall. Dozens of students from an area high school attended the hearing to support the victims.

A 23-year-old bulldozer driver was ordered Friday to spend the rest of his life in prison for the armed kidnapping and robbery of two teenagers at a light rail station in Timonium last October and the subsequent rape of one of the victims.

Kiheem Malik Taylor subjected the couple, both 17, to "torture" and "an absolute living hell" during a two-hour ordeal in which they were "in fear of death," Baltimore County Circuit Judge Robert N. Dugan said. He sentenced the defendant to prison for the maximum term allowed under law - two consecutive life sentences plus 100 years.

"A civilized society cannot tolerate such despicable, criminal behavior," said the judge, who noted that the victims suffered humiliation and embarrassment and, in the girl's case, a "loss of innocence."

Speaking over the sobs of Taylor's mother, Dugan said he hoped to ensure "that the defendant spends the rest of his life behind bars."

Addressing the court, but without looking at either his relatives or those of the two victims, Taylor maintained that police had arrested the wrong man.

"I'm innocent," he said. "I had nothing to do with this. Putting me away is not going to change the fact that the man who did this is still out there."

Taylor was initially charged with 32 counts, including eight sex offenses, among them first-degree rape and committing an "unnatural or perverted" act. He also was charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and carjacking. At a bench trial in May, he was found guilty of eight of the charges, two of which were combined at the time of sentencing for a final total of six.

An accomplice, Brian T. Scott, will be sentenced in October.

what a horrifying ordeal for those two teens. I hope the tough sentence this thug got gives them some small comfort.

He sentenced the defendant to prison for the maximum term allowed under law - two consecutive life sentences plus 100 years.
I can't help but feel that for most of their teen years these two idiots have been getting away with all sorts of mischief with nothing more that wrist slaps. They should of learned sooner -

Second perp sentenced to 40 years:
Before he was sentenced Brian T Scott apologized in court to the victim's families...saying that he wronged them.

But Judge Robert Dugan appeared not to be moved by it.....saying what Scott part in this was quote 'depraved.'

He sentenced Scott to 60 years in prison suspending all but 40 years.

Judge Dugan said in court quote. 'The guidelines here are inadequate. He got far better than he deserves.'
    [...]

Prosecutors say for the victims it's been a very difficult year but they've managed to try to get on with their lives.'

'Their families were here today and they just didn't want to come back and disrupt their education they decided to stay in school they had written to the judge a letter that they had read before and we're a year out and they're still healing but they are doing better.' Shellenberger says

If my son did something like this i sure as shit wouldn't be sobbing in court for him. I'd have disowned his ass as soon as I heard what he did. That may be cruel and that may be heartless but I am sick of people coming to the defense of monsters like this. Maybe if she had been a better mother her son wouldn't be a raping, torturing, thieving BEAST.

No tears or mercy or sympathy for him, he didn't show his victims any.

Thanks for updating the story Dakota.

I agree skeptik if this was my son there would be no tears for him. As his mother I would push for him to get the maxium sentence. I hope these kids can heal and move on with their lives.
