N-word, yea, I find N-word offensive. I don't recall hearing N-word before the OJ Simpson trial.

Just like I find wussy, friggin, freakin, s-bomb, f-bomb all offensive.

All those are terms used by shock jocks to get past FCC sensors.

N-word, is simply a term that Johnnie Cochran used very successfully to convince a jury and the rest of America that the word ****** is so offensive as to not be said in open court while TV cameras are present.
It was a tool he used to sway a jury, and he used it well.

That trial in my opinion was the start or at least escalation of the word ****** becoming more and more offensive. I really doubt that Johnny Cochran even considered what impact the term would have outside of that trial.

I can go on radio or TV and say freakin, but not fuckin. Does anyone really not know what I was meaning when I said it?

I can say S-bomb, but not shit, F-bomb but not fuck, n-word but not ******, wussy, but not pussy....Guess what, you and everyone else knows exactly what you mean either way, but some prudish twit convinced the world that one is more acceptable than the other.

What if you have never heard the word fuck? If I then said to you "the F-word" what would you be thinking I mean, Frog? French toast?

What if you had never heard the word ****** and I said to you N-word? Am I saying nose? Nincompoop?

I find it amazingly funny that some people are willing to surrender all control of their emotions simply by someone saying ******.

If you are willing to surrender your emotions over a single word, you can be put on tilt at any time simply by someone speaking one word. Don't let me know that. I'm an opportunistic bastard that will use it against you at a time of my choosing.
I don't care if that word is ******, cunt, popsicle, frog, kitten...

Take a good look at this post. I did not put any asterisks in this post.

Just as many women are offended by the word Cunt, as blacks are by the word ******, yet this forum or the writers of this software are OK with letting cunt show. Something is fucked up about that.

Does anyone besides me find it laughable that ****** gets asterisked out yet Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits all remain intact?

First let me say, Kudos Athena for having the courage to bring up such a sensitive and somewhat taboo subject.

I was a child of the 70's and grew up in the burbs outside of Baltimore. I went to school with children of different races. I had teachers who also were of different races and my innocence only showed me "people" not "races". Growing up in such a diverse community, I wasn't a witness to racism till I moved to a small Pennsylvania town a few miles over the Md/PA border. It wasn't racism in the sense that there were blatant words of prejudice spoken but fear that the "black" Marylanders were moving into their area and it was all the "white" Marylanders fault. So I was prejudiced against for being a
co-conspirator and a sympathizer. (crazy minds)

After a few years there I relocated to a teeny town in the south and let me tell you it's again a whole other world down here.
My husband was the first class to enter school to have integrated students in school his entire school years. He is now only 46 years old. As you can tell, the wounds down here have not healed. But what I find strange is the attitude that I am getting is not from older people, or people my age, people who would have experienced the hardships and struggle. The attitude is from the younger generation.
And I can understand their pain to a small degree because again I am faced with prejudice too because my accent is that of a "YANKEE". While I'm just from Baltimore and we have a twang according to Northerners. Guess people never heard of the Mason Dixon but anyways.

One day not long after I moved here, I was in the grocery store and I went to the cold box to get a cold soda. There were some girls leaning against it and I said (as polite as I am) "excuse me I just want to get a drink" and man oh man did I get the tude. I was told and I will quote "You just gonna have to wait your ass a minute" and the chick planted her back against the glass and went on rambling to her friends. I was furious and in my mind I'm thinking WTF????????? Are you an animal or what? Who the hell raised you? I did nothing to this person. I had nothing to do with the attitude she had. This completely baffled me because people where I came from just didn't act like this to one another.

Then another time I am at work and my boss was telling me that her daughter made friends with a "little black girl". I'm thinking OK thanks for clearing that up ?
She went on to inform me that her daughter wanted to invite her to the house and my boss told her daughter "NO. You can play with her at school but we don't mix". Again I'm like WTF???? are you an animal? Who the fuck raised you? Don't mix even in friendship??
Her child most certainly didn't see color so why put it in her head?

So.. the point I am trying to make is this. I was ignorant to it because the world I grew up in wasn't plagued with it. At least not in the eyes of me as a child or a young adult. The world my children grew up in had a small dose of it but it was fear more than anything from a small town mind in PA. Then I move down here and it's alive and breathing in both races.
I am called or hear "that white girl" when referring to me or a white woman a black person has a problem with. While we think it's just a description, I learned it is in fact derogatory. I often hear white people using the "N" word as innocently and crudely like it's just another word they throw around. There's no thought to if it may offend me because I was raised better than that. And my all time favorite...CRACKER.. why the hell am I a cracker??
I was 40 years old before I first heard that. And I truly don't know what I am going to do or say if another person down here refers to me as "that YANKEE".

Racism, bigotry, and prejudice is on both ends. In todays world, no one is exempt from it and no race owns the market on it. People need to own up and admit that their own races are equally as guilty to carrying on this form of hatred whether it be a snide comment, a generalization, deliberately misconstruing ones words to paint ugly pictures and everything else one does to breathe life into that damn mind set.

    Here goes.

There are no BLACK ONLY universities. They are all integrated. As a matter of fact, you can get a scholarship from the United negro college fund and not be black as long as you attend a historically black college. My cousin got one of those. As a matter of fact, I got a Martin Luther King Scholarship my freshman year and I am not black.
Fayetteville Tech and Fayetteville State in NC, both offer scholarships to white students to increase the diversity of the college.
My sister teaches at Worwic College in MD near the eastern shore. They too give scholarships to white students to help balance out the ratio between races since it was initially a black college under a different name.

    So times are changing.

Yes you do, and they were put there by the forums in place of the word n i g g e r.

Negro is not blanked out, and neither is nigga.

Lets test some more. porch monkey, yard ape, coon, spook....

At least if the system is going to sensor, it should be smart about it.

Would any black person be less offended by any of the above?

See how stupid that is? I put the Forum software on tilt by typing one word.

Again - The level of offense taken is determined by the level of atrocity associated with it. Even when compared to women's rights, slavery is the most blatant example of oppression and degradation in American history. That is why the N-word trumps them all. I think it to be a rather simple concept, really.

As for the asterisks, it boils down to a marketing issue. Like it or not, the N-word is so strongly tied to racist sentiments that we simply cannot afford to advertise it. The astricks and use of "N-word" displays a level of respect for certain sensitivities and enforcement of conduct deemed inappropriate by the site's creator.

There is not one single living person who has been oppressed by Slavery. Slavery is history.

If I understand what you are saying, ****** is a term associated with slavery. I disagree in that the term is more closely associated with the racism that lingered after slavery ended.

I happen to have slave sale papers that were my great great Grandfather's where the slaves were referred to as negro man, negro woman, and negro male child. If the association between terms and slavery are to be made, then negro should be the more offensive term IMO.

There are Japanese Americans and Japanese nationals who spent time in "War Relocation Camps" during WWII that might disagree about the most blatant example of oppression and degradation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanes...can_internment These are living people and their direct descendants that were affected by this oppression, yet there are thousands of people under the age of 40 that don't know they ever existed.

I was not aware there are so many derogatory terms out there. And I'll admit Cunt-eyed made me laugh.

You're right. I would have more accurately phrased it "the black plight" or something along those lines, as it is not slavery specifically. However, according to Dictionary.com, the word has been used at least since the Revolutionary War, and the only time at which it was used in a descriptive (rather than derogatory) manner was when it was generally agreed upon that blacks were inferior. That doesn't make it's usage any better.

They could argue, but they'd be wrong. While the internment of Japanese-American populations was absolutely deplorable (and something I know a great deal about, being from a Pacific Rim city), it was brief in comparison, and the internment was the result of the idea that these populations *may* be a threat to us in war time, rather than the assumption that they were subhuman and fit for ownership. In my opinion, the fact that there are living survivors is beside the point. The Holocaust doesn't become any less severe or respect-worthy once all those survivors die off.

So, squeaky wheel gets the lube?
How many times are you going to make me explain it, Harley? :P That word is worse than the rest. It's all a matter of degrees, and the site administrator gets to choose at which degree things start getting astricked out. We should be thankful (I guess) that the bar is set so low. No bar, however, is out of the question when something like the N-word appears in a title that is linked to the front page. And, from a moderator's standpoint, I'd rather they be astricked out in general, rather than having to go in and change inappropriate thread titles every time on pops up.

As far as you "hijacking" - This conversation is related to the subject matter, which is fairly broad. Conversations evolve, and I've got no problem with that, so long as they're productive.

When I was in college, my American History Professor stated at the beginning of the semester that we would learn things about slavery that we weren't taught in school. He also said we would lose some of the students due to this because it changes the dynamic of slavery greatly. He was correct in the fact that some were not open to the fact that slavery wasn't exclusive to Africans.

Let us not forget my Irish brethren who came to the states and were referred to as monkey's. They also were depicted in news clippings and advertisements as monkey's. They were thought to be a waste of human flesh and who's worth was lower than a dogs because they couldn't fetch a price on the slave market. However, often many would be tricked into slavery through indentured servitude and were treated just has horribly.

During this class while researching for my term paper I read a book that had clippings from Wanted Posters on runaway slaves. One in particular that stood out to me was in reference to a woman. Her description went as follows; red hair, fair skin, freckled, will pass for white but is mulatto. She wasn't bi-racial, but actually of Irish decent.

Guess who the Irish are in the picture below.

    Two other things -

Human trafficking is reportedly the third largest back market in the U.S., behind drugs and guns. There are approximately 50,000 slaves in the U.S. right now, and they are primarily African. The twist? They're primarily owned by fellow Africans.

Also, when I was a baby, my mom used to use the term "jigaboo" in place or "peek-a-boo" when playing with me. She had NO idea what it meant and thought it was simply a variation. My father informed her once he overheard her, and my mom was horrified. She said, "Oh god! I've done that in public!!!" :p

    Film suggestion

One way to sum up racism and one even oppressing those of one's own race is to watch the movie "CRASH" (2005) with Matt Dillon and Don Cheadle.
While the movie centers around racism as a whole from one race towards another (all races depicted) it also has a sideline story of the Chief of police who turns a blind eye to acts against his own race in order to protect his standing. He isn't even conflicted about his stance. Just another day to him.

And if that doesn't get anyone understanding, to see ones race destroy itself from the inside out, we have "Hotel Rwanda" or "Sometimes In April". While it's a good movie, Hotel Rwanda is your typical Hollywood film. Sometimes in April is an International film and doesn't have the cliche' Hollywood muck involved in it's story. Excellent film and highly recommended by moi.

I don't get all cry-ish during movies, generally, but I'll be damned if those African genocide movies don't jerk the tears right out of my ducts. I still haven't seen Hotel Rwanda, for that very reason. I just haven't encountered one of those day where I'm like, "Yeah...I think I feel like crying today."

Understand that one completely. But on an educational standpoint the latter of the two movies does go into the history of genocide. In that aspect, I wanted to be educated and understand just what went on. It is up there as a 10 on a scale of 1-10 as far being profoundly enlightening, traumatizing and tear jerking. Surely not to be watched for the entertainment purpose but for awareness and comprehension. I felt the same thing when watching Rosewood. I ended up in a fetal ball, crying on my bed after that one.

Sad thing, I don't think we've evolved beyond this even in our own backyard.
We (as a country not as individuals) still fear outsiders. People who have tried to assimilate into our society as productive members have been singled out due to their ethnicity as soon as 2001. We have old ladies standing at podiums making statements that a presidential candidate is a terrorist because of his name. A name is not a good enough reason to accuse but to some, it's as good a reason as any. This is alive and well in the good old US of A.

I don't think that interment camps is something of the past as well. I believe that if the uneducated kool-aide drinkers of this nation were convinced it was a good thing for the good of our country, they'd jump on the bandwagon and encourage it.

The main, no, ONLY reason that I do NOT feel comfortable voting for O'bama....Racism. There IS such a thing as Reverse Racism. I HAVE seen it in action. I DO know that Mr. O'bama belonged to a church (a supporting member of) that is REALLY prejudiced against "White" people (actually, I am a lovely shade of beige, but some people insis that "we ALL" look "alike")
I will relate this story one more time. A few years ago I worked for the state at a state prison hospital. It was our practice to report off on tape. Each nurse reported off then hit the pause button. The oncoming shift then rewound and listened to the taped report.

One day we listened to report and it was clear that the last recorder had forgotten to hit the pause button. At the end of report we were all rooted to our chairs listening, in growing shock to a nurse, african american in descent, as she related how she did NOT trust "white people" how you could not trust "white people" and added disparaging comments on certain "white" people. There were things said that I would not even repeat. I was completely shocked. I had worked with this nurse and had NO idea. The tape was turned over to EEO and investigated. The end product of this is that...the racist "black" nurse was NOT corrected in ANY way. The "white" nurse who forgot to hit the pause button was "INVESTIGATED"...She was not even in the room when the recording was made! There was talk of correcting her.

Now, if that recording had ben made with a "white" person saying the SAME comments about a "black" person....the "white" person WOULD HAVE BEEN IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED!

    Now, THAT is REVERSE DISCRIMINATION

Not long ago I was at work, sitting at the nurses station with a lot of other nurses. While making her rounds the Nursing Supervisor asked me if it bothered me that I was the only "white" person present. I honestly had to look around the room because I had NOT noticed that I was the only non Filipino nurse there. I had been there for several hours and had not noticed. I told her that and she said that it sometimes bothered the other nurses because the Filipino nurses would frequently lapse into their native language and it would make the non-filipino nurses uncomfortable. I told her that, if I were paranoid, I might think that they were talking about me and it would bother me. But, since I am not paranoid, it didn't bother me.

Interesting note. Here, in California, there are a LOT of Filipino nurses. Thus, at work I frequently sit with the "black" nurses. I seek them out and/or vice versa. Why? We speak English. I frequently work with a certain Chinese nurse and we sit together at work. Why? We both speak English.

An African American nurse one day brought up an interesting point. Housekeeping was cleaning on our floor. She asked "Have you ever noticed how most of the housekeepers and janitors are Mexican and most of the nurses are Filipino?" Looking around I had to agree. So we discussed it. Most Filipinos who move to the U.S. learn English and obtain a college education. Most move into neighborhoods of mixed races. Most Mexicans who move here move into neighborhoods that are heaily populated by other Mexicans, many of whom do not speak English or speak very little English. Thus, they insulate themselves into their comfort zones but limit their own ability to futher their education and expand their career opportunities. Recently a group of Mexican parents here protested because a Catholic School required that students with limited English take extensive classes in English their first year and required that classes be taught in English for other subjects. They hired an attorney and they are suing to require that classes be taught in Spanish ONLY for Spanish speaking students. On the surface this might appear fair. But it ISN'T...why? Because they are limiting their cildrens opportunities to better themselves in this country. They are keeping them stuck in menial housekeeping jobs when they could be working in a professional capacity for higher pay and decent benefits. These people who work janitorial or housekeeping are not being descriminated against. They are holding themselves back. It is all too easy to take the cop out that you are being descriminated against when you are holding yourself back because of fear of the unknown, because you have insulated yourself into your comfort zone.

I never went beyond 8th grade. I come from an abusive background. I had it ALL stacked against me. There were substance abuse issues in my family. There were physical abuse issues in my family. I have a GED and TWO college degrees. Why??? Because I REFUSE to sit back and moan about my poor background....how it's all someone elses fault, I can't get ahead because I wasn't born to a nicer family, WHAH, WHAH, WHAH...my own pity party. I went to nursing school WITHOUT GRANTS, NO GOVERNMENT MONEY, NO HANDOUTS...No excuses...I had TWO kids in diapers and an abusive spouse who STOLE my book money to go out drinking! Most of the time we were separated, some of the time he was in jail. I worked weekends, I put in 16 hour days, Monday through Friday, EVERY week for 2-1/2 years....and BOTH of my parents died while I was in school. So, tell me, uh, one more time, WHY is it that I owe you something? You can't get ahead because of what???

Final note. I do NOT owe anyone for anything that happened 150 years ago. I do NOT owe anyone for anything that happened 40 years ago. If your grandfather owed my grandfather money and did not pay it back, it does NOT mean that you owe me money! If my grandfather owed your grandather money and did not pay it back, it does NOT mean that I owe you money! So grow up and take responsibility for yourself....all else is just WHAH, WHAH, WHAH

Buy Irish and Italians by the Boatload for Dangerous jobs

Ditto....my Irish and Italian antecedents were just ordered up by the boatloads for very dangerous coal mining jobs...no need for safety in the workplace...kill a few...shit, order up another boatload.

Times have changed CONSIDERABLY. Racism is not whatsoever limited to whites, and quite frankly, whites still bear the load of this myth. It's bullshit.

Go into any heavily populated ares by blacks, Mexicans, Asians, whoever. There is a ton of white hate there. Just like densely populated white areas, where racism exists.

Racism is everywhere, but not as bad as many still claim it to be. It exists somewhat in all of us, and if anyone denies it, you're fucking liars. We've all had racist moments and thoughts.

There has existed a double standard for quite some time now, that's just ludicrous, and it's mostly motivated by whites who hate themselves.

The state forces us to send or truck driver's home, no matter the ethnicicty, and used hired haulers of color. We actually have to turn white haulers away, whether they are more qualified or not, and used ethnic haulers. We have to help the haulers prepare their bills, if they can't afford insurance for their own vehicles we have to help them. It is totally messed up. We used a minority of Native American descent and a state rep actually called and asked us why we didn't use a hauler of African Amercian descent. That kind of stuff infuriates me....not at the minority people, but these stupid policies. I think peoples different ethnicities are interesting and should be preserved, it could make this country so much more interesting and diverse, as well as accepting. I think people should be hired, accepted, or whatever based on them not their heritage. Period.
I also work for a Construction Company and we mainly do state jobs. Mostly schools. When we win a job we are told exactly how many minorities we must hire. I must fill out monthly minority reports. I believe a person should be hired for their qualifications not for there skin color. The minute we don't hire a sufficient amount of minorities we get hit with fines. I wouldn't care what the race of a person is , if they are qualified. But we are forced to keep some on the job just because of there race and not qualifications to do the job. I feel this is another case of reverse discrimination.

I do not like the term "reverse racism" because indicates that hatred was only supposed to be geared to one race. I read a few of your personal experiences such as a boss not letting his/her kid mix with a another girl outside of school.
I never received any racism from Caucasians in my own city (however other cities).

I've seen prejudiced among hispanic/latino ethnicities. There are those who are six generation American, who are considered out of touch because they are culturally different from those of 1st and 2nd generation legal immigrants. There are legal immigrants hating on illegal. There are Mexican nationals who attend school here that fight with Mexican-American Students. Puerto Ricans hating on Mexicans. Cubans hating on everyone. All with the notion that one is better than the other.

So your friend thinks she didn't get hired because she doesn't have a Spanish name (of some would say Mexican name). I'm not going to lie to you. I get hired because I look bilingual. My name is very much "American". It's not Josefina, Guadalupe, Xochtil... just plain old Rebecca. I live in a city that is over 75% Spanish speakers. It IS required you know Spanish, and none of my friends have ever had a problem getting a job (btw they're not Hispanic). I think instead of automatically thinking it involved a name, that the person should ask.

I am also not going to lie to you, I HAVE been told how "beneficial" it was that I spoke English and knew Spanish because I "could relate to both sides". Sad they assume this because I don't relate to "American culture". I don't have a relative from Mexico or the Latin American part of the world. I look more "hispanic" than most. I do culturally relate more to Chicanos, not because of my skin color because of where and how I grew up. I will say I relate more to the 1st generation migrants than those who are 6th generation...and definitely not the ones who look down on those who are still in the struggle of improving their lives, because most of the people here are doing just that.

I will admit that I get annoyed when visiting Fronchis (frontera chihuahuas) come to shop here and they act all snobby, and they get pissed at you if they don't address them in Spanish. I don't care if migrants or immigrants speak Spanish because they do have a sense of modesty. I will always get the assumption because of my skin color that I must know Spanish... when in fact it's my third language.

As for those who bitch about people taking the opportunities that are given to them, don't look at them as handouts. Our government realizes that in order to have a successful society, we must have productive members. If you're bitter about it and you have those opportunities and don't take them...you're stupid. Your a martyr for your own stupidity. If you don't take, don't get mad because others are smart enough to.

Racism is racism regardless of who it is against. There is racism against whites. I don't care how tall and big you are, if you're Caucasian and you venture through Segundo Barrio with a mean face... you WILL end up in the hospital. Mexicans and Blacks don't get along here, schools have been known to shut down and the swat team comes in to break up race riots.

Throughout my education, I have encountered people who believe that White people are the worst race ever and they are selfish and will stomp over anyone for their own gain, we call this colonization. Yes this is how this professor taught it. Do I believe all white people are this way? No just canadians (joke)

People need to realize that although slavery ended a long time ago, there are still the leftover residue that lingers all over our society. It would be idiotic to say there isn't. It would almost as be as stupid as saying British Empire had nothing to do with the plight that most developing countries have faced nor what Catholicism (the Church) had done to Mexico.

If you catch yourself being mad because you don't understand someone speaking in another language, enlighten yourself and go learn. If you catch yourself feeling that you're getting screwed over your skin color, look up opportunities and stop the bitching and hate. I see it as jealousy, and I'm probably not the only one. All words in regards to a person's creed, race, or background are harmful because that is their pure intention; one is not worse than the other for all...it's all in perception in who it is being said to.

btw i didn't edit this shit and i dont care.

Scientifically speaking there isn't even a separation of races in human beings. Before we begin to attack the problem of "racism" it helps to get the language right.

And I 3rd the motion on reverse discrimination in construction, especially on the State work.

I Own and Operate my own Quad Axle dump truck. And lease it on to a bigger company who assists me in finding work. They DO not own their own equipment and rely on contractors like myself.

Well in Wisconsin we also have minority hire/quota laws stating that X amount of work must go to "Minority owned business'' which basically excludes me as a white person who just happened to come equipped with a penis.

Now Please do not misunderstand my point of view on this, but it seems to me that the bidding process should be a level playing field and whether the contractors have 5 or 500 minority contractors/subcontractors should the the last consideration. NOT THE FIRST!

lolwut. Let us bust out Microsoft Encarta, you're clearly confused.

    reverse

    re·verse [ri vúrss]
verb (past and past participle re·versed, present participle re·vers·ing, 3rd person present singular re·vers·es)
    1. transitive verb change something to opposite: to change something to the opposite direction, order, or position
reversing the trend of population growth

    2. transitive and intransitive verb go backward: to go backward, or move something in a backward direction
    reverse the car

    3. transitive verb turn something inside out: to change something so that the opposite side or part shows
You can reverse the cloak and wear it with the lining on the outside.

    4. transitive verb law revoke ruling: to overturn a previous ruling made by a lower court
    5. transitive verb printing print something white against dark background: to print text or graphics in white against a dark or colored background
    6. transitive verb military turn weapon upside down: to turn a weapon upside down, especially as a sign of mourning

    noun (plural re·vers·es)
    1. gear for backward movement: the gear in a vehicle or machine that makes it run backward
It's easier to get out of here in reverse.

    2. the opposite: the contrary of something
She always does the reverse of what I tell her.

    3. back side: the rear or back side of something
The names are written on the reverse of the photo.

    4. change to opposite direction: a change or turn to the opposite direction, position, or condition
    5. setback: a change for the worse
    a military reverse

    6. coins back side of coin: the side of a coin, medal, or seal on which the primary design does not appear
The reverse of some coins carries the national motto. See also obversen (sense 1)

    7. football offensive play in football: in football, a move in which a back receives the handoff from the quarterback and then hands the ball to another back running in the opposite direction

    adjective
    1. opposite to usual or previous arrangement: opposite to what is usual or what was previously said or arranged
announce the results in reverse order

    2. on back side: on the other side or the back side of something
    3. for backward movement: used to make a machine or vehicle go backward
    reverse gear

[14th century. Via Old French revers "reversed" < Latin reversus, past participle of revertere "turn back" < vertere "turn"]

    -re·verse·ly, adverb
    -re·vers·er, noun

    Racism

    ra·cism [ráy sìzzəm]
    noun
    1. animosity toward other races: prejudice or animosity against people who belong to other races
"I am a Muslim and ... my religion makes me against all forms of racism." (Malcolm X Speech, Prospects for Freedom 1965)
    2. belief in racial superiority: the belief that people of different races have different qualities and abilities, and that some races are inherently superior or inferior

This thereby logically means those who were discriminated upon are now doing the discriminating. Your little story, in essence, defines "reverse racism."

With that being said, reverse racism does exist. As mentioned in this thread, we coat and glaze said term with "affirmative action"...by countering racism to fill a quota, you're now doing the opposite of historical racism and rejecting the majority for the sake of a minority's representation. It's a very poorly-defined word. Catering to today's minorities due to one race's history with said race is absolutely nonsensical in my opinion.

Racism can't be reversed. It's merely racism, no matter what the source. Reverse racism, by definition, would be acceptance of difference based on skin pigmentation.

I don't think the crux of the issue should be about who is more racist, or about the differences in racism between different groups of people. All people are inherently racist. Even microorganisms separate based on chemical cues. It's essentially no different for humans. Our unwillingness to accept new things, and bludgeon unfamiliar things to death with sticks, is what led us to survive in small tribes. We still aren't that far removed from swinging in trees, so racial acceptance is still a social experiment. It'll takes time, but pointing out difference only obstructs progress. In roughly one hundred years we'll all be basically the same homogenized skin color anyways, so any talk about racism will seem utterly primitive looking back.

Took me long enough to figure out you were still on ignore. Sorry, but at times I forget you exist. I was only pointing out how stupid you are, but I will stop doing this...since I feel stating the obvious is rather unnecessary. Nothing personal. I just have a problem pointing out mentally inept comments, it's actually how I noticed you back in June. I'm learning to slowly stop doing this, it's cool. Don't worry about it.

I disagree to an extent. Reverse racism exists because those who were discriminated before the second wave of racism (reverse) seemingly have legal precedence over those who were discriminating. It is still racism irregardless of the source, but from a sociological and legal standpoint it's reversed by definition.
