NAPLES — A 19-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after investigators from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office say he molested a 2-year-old girl.
Domingo Mariano Ortuna, 609 Breezewood St., Immokalee, was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also placed an immigration hold on Ortuna, who is from Mexico.
Around 11 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a call from a woman who said that a man, later identified as Ortuna, appeared to be performing a sex act on a young girl. The man, who was clothed, was kneeling behind a clothed 2-year-old, reports said.
When the woman walked toward Ortuna, he stood up and was visibly aroused under his shorts, according to an arrest report.
He grabbed the arm of the 2-year-old, who was crying, and entered a nearby residence.
When interviewed by deputies at the Immokalee substation, Ortuna changed his story a few times and was inconsistent on several issues, reports said.
