A Boyle County couple arrested back in June for allegedly starving two of their young children made a court appearance Tuesday.
Charles Holsinger, 31, and his wife Virginia, 25, were arrested at their Danville home in June and charged with neglect and criminal abuse of their children, ages 9 and 12. They have both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Danville Police were called by the Cabinet of Families and Children to help with an investigation at the home, and that police immediately took the two children to the hospital to be checked out.
Police say they found that the children showed signs of neglect and criminal abuse in the form of deliberate starvation or malnourishment.
There was another child found in the home, but police say that child's condition did not warrant any charges against the Holsingers.
The two children were checked at the hospital and released, and are now in foster care.
