LAKESIDE, Ore. - A man on the southern Oregon coast was arrested Friday afternoon
for riding an adult-sized tricycle while intoxicated, authorities said.
According to Oregon State Police,
a trooper came in contact with a group of intoxicated people at Tenmile Lakes County Park near Lakeside and
warned a man not to ride his purple "Miami Sun" tricycle home because he was obviously drunk. Not long after, the
trooper saw the man riding the tricycle in a traffic lane on the wrong side of the street, state police said.
The tricycle then rode past a stop sign and down the wrong side of another street, police said.
The
trooper stopped the man, who failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for driving under the influence of intoxicants, state police said.
William David Bjorkquist, 58, of Lakeside, was taken to the Coos County jail, where
he was cited and released, state police said
