Undercover officers were assigned to be on the lookout at the Iroquois homes public housing project for a child predator after receiving complaints of attempted child abductions last week.
It took less than two days of surveillance for officers to make an arrest right beside the bus stop.
Lewis Harrison doesn’t want you to know who he is or what he’s accused of doing.
He is a convicted sex offender involving a child; exposing his genitalia with children nearby waiting to catch a school bus.
Harrison was arraigned Wednesday morning for the latest in a long string of sex charges.
Over the past twenty years, he’s been charged with dozens of crimes including indecent exposure, voyeurism and failing to register as a sex offender.
Police say they arrested him Wednesday slumped in the seat of his burgundy Ford with a towel, a jar of Vaseline, a camera and binoculars.
He was allegedly exposing himself and pleasuring himself.
But the reason cops were staking out the complex is perhaps more alarming.
There were reports of an individual that was approaching a couple of students on the way to school.
One woman’s 15-year-old daughter was attacked Friday morning walking to her bus stop.
“The guy was completely covered up. The only thing she seen was his eyes. He mainly beat her up and everything. He was trying to get her clothes off. Somebody was coming. That’s how she got away from him,” she says.
A day earlier, a woman fended off a similar attack as her daughter’s friend came to walk with her to the bus stop.
Harrison has not been charged with either of the earlier attacks, but police are continuing their investigation.
On Wednesday the judge raised his bond to $15,000 dollars cash to keep him in jail.
