DENVER – A man considered to be a sexually violent predator took off his ankle monitor and is now wanted by police.

Denver Police says 28-year-old Jaime Gutierrez violated his parole by taking off his monitor on July 1. At the time he violated his parole he was in the area of West 36th Street and Federal Boulevard in Denver.

Gutierrez was a registered sex offender who last lived in Lakewood.

He served time in prison after being convicted of sexual assault on a child. He also has a history of drug use, car theft and escape.
