http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news...17/detail.htmlBOSTON -- A Hingham man faced assault charges Monday after he was accused of setting a notebook on fire and throwing it at his wife.
Police received a call at about 1 a.m. Monday from Deirdre McGrath at 54 Rhodes Circle reporting that her husband, Royce Coppola, 36, deliberately set the house on fire and fled the area. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and all of the residents escaped without injury.
Officers were told that Coppola had an argument with his wife, set a notebook on fire and threw it at her. The woman put out the fire, but police said that Coppola then went into the bedroom and set the bed on fire.
He was later arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder, burning of a dwelling house and domestic assault and battery.
Neighbors said that police have made frequent visits to the home. The couple moved in to the home in March. The landlord recently started eviction proceedings due to unpaid rent.
