OLDSMAR - Pinellas County sheriff's deputies arrested a Trinity woman after she was found asleep and slumped over the wheel of her car with a 4-year-old girl in the backseat and cocaine on the console.
Tami Lynn Green, 35, of 1846 Sweet Spire Drive in Trinity, was arrested Saturday for child neglect and possession of cocaine, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Two bicyclists saw Green at about 6:20 p.m. in the parking lot of Eastlake Professional Center, 3488 Eastlake Road in Oldsmar, and reported it to a deputy in the area, the release said.
The deputy approached the parked vehicle, woke up the woman and asked her to step out of the car. When she stepped out, the deputy saw cocaine in plain view on the console of the car and found a child asleep in a car seat in the back seat of the vehicle. The vehicle and air conditioning were running.
The investigation continues.
