LEBANON, Mo. -- A southern Missouri couple may be charged after their 2-month-old baby was left in a shopping cart outside a Wal-Mart.

Lebanon police say the couple had finished their shopping on July 4, loaded their car and drove off without taking the baby. A witness said he watched the couple drive away, leaving the baby behind.

Twenty minutes later, the frantic parents called Wal-Mart. Police said the couple first lied about why they sped away, claiming a neighbor had called to report someone was breaking into their home. But they eventually admitted that they simply forgot the infant.

Both parents were arrested on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child and released, pending possible formal charges by Laclede County prosecutors.

Police say the baby is staying with a relative and is in good condition.

Seriously, some of the kids I know from Lebanon are awesome and brilliant and stuff. But a lot of 'em are just that stupid. I bet they're both under 25 and have lived in Lebanon all their lives.

I'm sorry I find this kinda funny. My husband walks off with Nadezdha all the time and once I apparently walked away from the cart and thought he took her. So I kinda see "forgetting"... almost. Okay not clearly because as you empty groceries its kinda hard to miss the baby seat. Unless your blind. Maybe they are blind and that is why they were speeding too.

Or maybe they changed their minds, want the baby back. People do the stupidest shits. Like I mentioned before, it is IMPOSSIBLE to forget the baby after finish loading the things in car from cart.
